Satoshi gets invited by Professor Okido to attend the opening ceremony of the Sakuragi Labratories in Kuchiba City. But during the ceremony, he senses the appearance of a gigantic Pokémon and goes to the port, where he sees Lugia appear before another Pokémon Trainer that got there before him.... A new adventure now begins for these two.

------------

Satoshi and Pikachu head to the Sakuragi Laboratories, which have just opened in Kuchiba City, Kanto, together with Professor Okido. At the lab, they hear about a legendary Pokémon appearing at Kuchiba City's port, so they run there to have a battle. Meanwhile, a local boy named Go is certain he knows what this legendary Pokémon is, and heads to the port as well.

Wasn't this said to air as part of the 1-hour special on November 17th? That's what Serebii said.

The lack of a one-hour special is really frustrating, but only because they chose to make ep one be about Pikachu's past, meaning we'll have to wait an extra week to get into the real meat 'n' potatoes of this show.

There hasn't been a single double episode since 71 and 72, which was before the time slot change... Can we just assume that those are now a thing of the past?

This is the first time since DP that the first and second episode of a new series are not aired on the same date and its kinda frustrating because I wasn't looking much forward for PM001 as it seems that the real plot stattts here.

Wow, it's a real shame this isn't airing along with episode 1. Really feels like it would have made a lot of sense with this show in particular, since the first episode seems like so much of its own thing.

Didn't they say the official trailer that came out at the beginning of the month say the first episode is airing 30 minutes earlier than normal as part of an extended special on TV Tokyo? Where's the source that this episode is being aired on the 24th?

Kanto is love. Kanto is life.
So, I think Ash and Go wanna have a battle against Lugia, but they battle instead to see who is "worthy" enough to challenge Lugia. Lol. Well both would lose even though they gang up on it.

Does Go already have a Pokemon in this episode?

Considering that he doesn't seem to be getting Scorbunny until episode 4, combine with the fact that he winds up getting offered to choose between the 3 Kanto starter pokemon to be his starter, it's safe to say that no he doesn't have a pokemon in this episode, and probably isn't going to get any pokemon until he finally gets his Scorbunny in episode 4.

I'm imagining Lugia being annoyed by this trainer who wants to catch it, so it just picks it up with its feet (or maybe Go manage to jump on it) or whatever followed by Ash grabbing onto its tail and then it flies away somewhere.

I am curious as to where they are supposed to end up, since apparently the next episode is in Kanto. So, maybe Johto and then they go back to Kanto for the following episode, or maybe they just travel throughout the Kanto region and maybe Go sees Mew or something.

This series is just confusing with all the other episodes revealed.
