November 25th: PM2019 133 - Project Mew

For some reason, Project Mew just sound too reminiscent to Project Mewtwo. In pokemon the first movie, those scientist were on an expedition to find mew in order to study it, and then once discovering some DNA of the creature they used it to clone a second species; Mewtwo.

The fact that the purpose of the Project Mew expedition is to catch and study Mew in a lab tells me that no one will be getting it. I think Mew MUCH too intelligent to allow itself to be the study of mere scientist.

If Goh truly wants to earn the capture then I think he should work his way up to catching lots more pokemon and building a better understanding of how they live and connect with people, they way Ash did through his travels across the regions of the Pokemon World, before becoming a Monarch himself.

The thought of Goh catching Mew and then having it confined to a lab for research just make me think of Mewtwo. In contrast to the Project Mew research, I believe this is why professor Oak's lab is far different than others, as his research facility allows the pokemon to roam and do as they please while he watches from afar to study them.

It's kind of an interesting parallel to Eternatus, that was caught by Goh, locked, then partially reintegrated(to connect with people too), then when it was under research it broke free and returned to roaming around Galar

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha Goh barely gives a **** about his school now, you think he's going to wear a uniform and go to school. Also Arven's a tool from what I've seen so sure, put the two of them together so they get more hate, fine by me xD.

Oh if he sticks around after this and Ash and him go to Paldea, yep, I will be. However if the writers are actually stupid enough to set a series just around him and Ash leaves, the anime can rot and I'll be gone. You and Unova can go googly eyed over Goh alone cuz I can promise you most would stop watching lol.

Once again Ash overshadowed his companions and their narrative, what's new
Not to say Ash didn't deserve all that, he did, but they really shafted Goh and him being a "co-protagonist" in favour of Ash, ever since the second half of the second year.

I'm very curious to see how Project Mew will turn out. The weird picture shown at the end of PM 132 (the one with the sinking ships) added to the fact than we don't hear Goh speak to Ash makes me think something really bad is going to happen during the expedition.
Also, Project Mew being a short two-parter doesn't seem to add up, cause if it was I'm pretty sure the writers would've crammed it between Ash vs Cynthia and Ash vs Leon. Something shady is going on behind the scenes

Kids go through the anti-Poke Ball zone.

They find Mew, but, shockers, the professor uses a net and laughs at them all for being too stupid not to judge his looks.

Goh gets pissed and fights, liberates Mew, but then learns that Mew shouldn't be caught but goes Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon and finishes his goal a different way.

Half-***ed finale at Cerise where Ash ditches his Journeys team and becomes as strong as a badgeless trainer. Cue credits. We can finally close the anime spoiler board for good.

It’s so anti climatic and wild that they haven’t been promoting this at all or as much as the PWC despite the narrative being this is “just as important as Ash’s goal since he’s a co protagonist”

Probably intended as a cool-down arc after the Masters 8.
