Its definitely not realistic (for the established rules of the Pokemon universe and most regions). Ash should fight an E4 member sometime since they are considered some of the strongest trainers in each region.

I can assure you this isn’t an unpopular opinion lol. PWC is generally viewed either as meh or average. I’d much prefer SM art style and the animation isn’t as stylistic as SM.

OLM doesn't fund the series. They're just contracted out to produce it. Furthermore, the majority of the workers at OLM don't have a say in the production of the series nor do the majority of them profit from the series.

The character designs for the 2019 series are actually prime for great battle scenes but due to the lack of animators who specialize in battle scenes as well as the short production schedule the few action specialists who work on the series don't have enough time to create densely animated battle scenes. If the production desk can somehow find a way to recruit more animators who specialize in action animation and are able to produce work quickly then the quality of the series would be able to increase. Alternatively, extending the production schedule (as well as their pay so that they can afford to take care of their health) so that episodes have longer times to be produced would definitely help the animators currently working the series.
