Obtaining Legendaries (the new old-fashioned way)

As I'm sure all of you were, I was delighted when I learned that D/P would allow trading and battling over the Wi-Fi connection. The thing that was foremost on my mind was, however, the chance for any person to get legendary Pokémon that were previously (for all practical reasons) impossible to obtain, for example, Mew, Celebi, Deoxys, and Jirachi (this list would extend to include other Nintendo-event-legendaries in the upcoming games). Living in Canada, it is much too expensive and involved for me to travel to a city in the States just to get a Pokemon. Many people, myself included, want more than anything a complete Pokédex in their games, and soon we will all have an opportunity to do this with the Wi-Fi trading in Diamond and Pearl.

So, I say we should come up with a plan that will let people know when they have a legendary they would like to pass on for the public good, which can then continue passing through the games of every person that needs that elusive 'dex entry.

Sound good? Discuss any ideas here.

A Wi-Fi Nintendo Event, go to the site for the time, and get on and enter some sort of code, get in, download the legendary and your done! That was my idea ever since I heard of Wi-Fi on D/P.

Problem being the people who would rather keep it that "pass it on for the public good"

Here is the thing, I really fear that Nintendo and GF will screw this (really simple) thing up somehow.

no doubt people will hack them into their games and people will get fake(Non official) legends to their game...

I think when the time comes, Serebii should have a thread for people to sign up, and if you sign up for it, you thereby swear to return any loaned pokemon and what-not, with certain punishment for non-compliance.

That is, if Nintendo/Gamefreak doesn't mess this thing up.



Also, downloadable pokemon woul dbe awesome.

Or downloadable items, and TM's, for that matter, would be really sick!
