Today marks the start of the SV chapter. While we wait for scans to pop up, here's a slightly bigger version of the CoroCoro Ichiban cover.

And here's our first proper image. The boy is called "Prince" here, so we're still waiting for an actual name (assuming that isn't his actual name).

He calls his Rotom Phone (or whoever is speaking through it) Roto-jii. Nice 'stache.

Our protagonist's name is "Speed Prince" Violet Rung (Rang?)

The protagonist's name is Violet Lang and he has a Fuecoco. He has a Rotom Phone butler that calls him "prince".
So I guess he's a descendant of the Paldean Emperor.

•Hogator representation over weed cat is swell.
•Pokemon Special needs to desperately leave straightforward game adaptation arc. stories out, Special is and continues to at its best when it does its own thing and SM/SWSH were just kind of game 1:1 copies at times. Very boring.

And I already wonder whether we should consider Violet as a "counterpart" of Florian or a PokeSpe OC? I guess the Bulbapedia Wisemen will find a solution eventually...

I think the reason they let him have long hair is probably so that he can change his hairstyle perfectly in DLC.

Honestly I'm excited for more. Violet seems to have a fun personality, and there are new and different elements from the game. I like that Rotom seems like he'll have a role here. And Violet really talks like a prince lol

Seems like Violet wants to look for the Herba Mystica with Arven. I really like Arven so I hope he gets to be on the main group. And then at the end Nemona challenges Violet to a battle, to no one's surprise lol. I wonder what Scarlet is gonna be like.

I also like that they decided to go with Violet and Uva Academy because in the anime they went with Naranja, and in the special anime they're gonna release they went with Naranja Academy as well. I'm glad to have some Violet representation for once!

Because
a) two protagonists already have one. Kusaka rarely does repeats like this. And again, it's been over two decades since Yellow got Chuchu.
b) Pokespe stopped giving Dex holders Pika-clones after Gen IV.
c) Pikachu rarely gets any kind of special attention other than to show off an obligatory new form.
