• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future
Sorry for any inconvenience with this and sorry for any lost posts.

Queen of Charizards!
Put at least 1 Pokemon in each of the 8 Boxes. It should unlock more.

Hey, where is the best place to train my pokemon post game? (besides audino)

Make sure to explore east Unova (follow the Route east of Opelucid), and battle all trainers. Do the daily battles, like Cynthia in Undella Town and Morimoto in Castelia. Battle the post-game Elite Four; they're much stronger than they were pre-N's Castle.

;028; I am having trouble understanding EV training. I battled around 30 pokemon which wields 1 EV in Attack whilst holding a mucho brace, yet when the Pokemon in question levelled up (Simpour level 51) its attack went up by 3, what? How? why? Am I understanding it correctly that the Simpour has received the 510 EVs possible all ready? This is surly wrong? I don't believe my Simpour has been in that many fights. Help!!! Also sorry, if I posted this in the wrong place sorry. This is my first post on this website.

well, where is the best to train through wild pokemon?

Look for shaking grass spots; Audino give tons of experience. I've heard you can run back and forth just outside of the grass (so you don't encounter any non-Audino Pokemon) and wait until you see a shaking patch.

Also, the EXP formula changed in this game. Basically, the more levels abovee you the oppoenents is, the more exp points you get.

Using the Lucky Egg helps too.

Okay, there's something I don't quite get that may or may not have an answer.

All the Pokemon seem to have a Dream World ability but they're not all available in the various Dream World areas, according to the website. Is there a way to get the abilities on these Pokemon through the Dream World, eventually, or are the abilities just there for in the future when they might be offered through an event or something?

From what I understand, 5th gen Pokemon can never be available on the Dream World. At least that's what I've been told; I guess people hacked the coding or something to find that out. But then why program the third abilities for Unova Pokemon at all? The answer has to be that they will be available in some future way, perhaps in "Gray".

I was thinking of Mawile, actually. He isn't listed in the Pokemon available in the different areas, as many aren't, so I'm wondering how you'd get a Mawile with the Dream World ability, or if we have to wait.

Presumably, the Pokemon with Dream World abilities that are currently unobtainable will be obtainable either through events, the new Wii title that's coming out in the future, the inevitable third version, the potential third gen remakes, or some kind of Dream World update that adds more Pokemon.

Somebody told me that the dream world will never be updated with 5th Gen Pokemon; there was no coding for them or something like that; I can't really remember what exactly the reason was.

....also, what Wii game?

This isn't really a gameplay question as much as it is a team building question, but how many people have successfully used Throh on their in-game teams? And by successfully I mean all the way to the Elite Four. Because I'm about to start a White playthrough, and since Sawk isn't an option unless I want to either trade or piss away a couple hours of gameplay sifting through Audinos outside of Pinwheel Forest looking for one - add to the fact that Sturdy is a must-have for its ability, and I would be setting myself up for a crap-ton of rage and frustration. So has Throh worked out well for any White players? Or should I give Conkeldurr a try, since I now have the ability to trade with Black?

^ Is Throh a must have? While he did decently for me in White, I found Scrafty to be much better throughout the entire game rather just here and there.

Conkeldurr is a great choice, too. My brother had him on Black and said he worked wonders.

You don't have to use any pokemon you don't want to. It's just personal preferences. I didn't use it because both of them look ugly. Use what ever pokemon you want =D

Haha, my post was actually responding to the poster above, who was talking about getting a Throh since they were interested in getting one.
