• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future
Sorry for any inconvenience with this and sorry for any lost posts.

Hey guys i got a breeding question (hopefully this is the place to ask)
I have a Corsola with Regenerator, how could i breed this with a poliwhirl to get a poliwag with Regenerator?

You can't pass on abilities by breeding Pokemon.

My point in the paragraph you're referencing was, is it really worth getting hostile toward someone you don't know because you weren't given something in a distribution that you can easily obtain for yourself in-game?
I was not being hostile. I didn't attack you at all in the post. I asked whether you understood the meaning of "event" - as that's what the Pokémon in question are. They're not giveaways; they're events. There's a difference.

Also, since when have Cherish Balls been available in-game? Since when have I been able to attach Premier or Classic Ribbons to my Pokémon? This is what makes them special.

But anyway, I this has nothing to do with assisting others in their playthroughs of Black and White, so I'll leave it at that; I won't be replying to this topic anymore.

I never said you were being hostile, I was referencing back to Blazios' post to Rovert. My issue with your comment was the condescending nature of your question toward me, which you repeat again here. And yes, I understand that you're mincing words about 'event' versus 'giveaway', but that does not change the fact that these 'events' took place so the Pokemon Company could give things away to players.

I'm sorry, but I imagine there are very few players who want event pokemon just because they're in Cherish Balls and have Classic Ribbons. In fact, many probably would prefer not to have these on them because of the GTS restrictions. And besides, as I explained, I pointed out how ordinary these pokemon were to demonstrait why I thought Blazios was unfounded in the mean-spirited statement toward Rovert.
Edit and the Mystery Egg was hatched by the player, and therefore didn't have special pokeballs or ribbons.

And I agree that this does not contribute to the purpose of this help thread, but that didn't stop you from taking a stab at me with your original condescention. I stood up to you about it, and now you refuse to reply

I find Audino extremely useful. If you cycle outside a patch of grass (I find Route 14 good for this), one piece will begin to shake after around fifteen seconds, sometimes even less. They're great for battling when you've already used up the trainers in the domes, Morimoto and such.

I prefer Route 12. The odds of getting audino in a shaking patch are not really as high there but there's a straight, flat path and you are never more than three patches away, no matter where the grass shakes.

A Dream World poliwag would have swift swim, not regenerator. Each pokemon has from one to three abilities (if it has three, one has to be a hidden ability). You have a 40% chance of passing on a hidden ability if the mother has it, but a father having it will do nothing.

Hello! I have 2 questions i need answers for:
1) What if i had two pokes, both exactly the same (except one is level 100 and the other level 50). Would they have same stats if used them online or in the battle subway? (this is an example. I know this is nearly impossible to do legitly.)

2) It Seems like whenever i visit the dream areas like the spooky mansion to much, pokes and items stop appearing for the rest of the hour im there. Is this an intended feature or a bug? This is happening within the 1 hour time limit i have.
Thank you in advance ^^.

Yes, assuming they have the same IVs and EVs. If they are exactly the same, they will have the same stats when their levels are scaled to match, as IVs, EVs, and base stats are scaled according to the Pokemon's level. A level 100 reduced to level 50 for the Battle Subway will have all of its stats treated like a level 50.

The Dream areas dry up after a few runs (usually around your 6th visit, I think), so this is normal. Just get everything you can from the dream areas early on. Once it dries up for the day, spend the rest of your time watering berries or just end the session early.

I think they would be the same since both would be at lv 50 and it wouldn't be any different along as long as it was ev trained before it reached lv50 if not they would have different stats due to the ev's in their stats.Anyways is it possible to use 2 of the same pokemon i've never tried that

It's intended if not people would rush through their sessions and skip games in order to only play games of pokemon they want thus ruining the fun

Can somebody with a pikachu or pichu please battle me with it so I can have it added to my pokedex (and therefore try to trade for it on GTS)? My freind code is in my signature on my trainer card.

I could also use someone to do the same with a Chansey or Happiny.

I looked on all the rule threads and such and this seemed the appropriate place to ask, since it's help and i'm not looking to really battle somebody for competition.

Pokémon you battle online don't register in your Pokédex, I don't believe.
Ack, that sucks. I knew you didn't get exp. which makes sense, but thats really kinda ...stupid. IMHO.

I got traded a Pichu from somebody on the forums just now anyway..

its possible, but there are a lot of factors that would have to line up. First, The EVs would have to be the same, second, the IVs would have to be the same as well, and third, the nature would have to be the same. Esentially, it would have to be a clone. Of course two people could RNG a flawless adamant Axew and EV train it in Atk and Spd and then they would be the same without being cloned, but you know what i mean :p

Hello everyone!
So I recently got Wireless internet for my house and I'm having a lot of fun with the wireless features that B/W offer however I have no idea how to befriend people. I've seen people have friend codes in their signature but I'm not sure where to find mine or how to add people. Thanks for the help!

When you log into the internet for the first time your friend code will automaticlly be given to you you can chek it at your Pal Padf which is in the key items, also you can regestir other people´s friend codes with it

To check your own friend code or add other people's friend codes, you have to open up your Pal Pad, which you can find in your Key Items pocket in your bag. From what I remember, you obtain Pal Pad when first trying to connect to Wi-Fi, but I am not sure. Anyway, you probably have it already.

Exactly, funnily enough I've got two identical shiny Torchics from RNGing (I was new to it and I messed it up a bit). Unfortunately, I don't plan to train them.

If you breed with a pokemon that the game detects as hacked, will it produce bad eggs?

Since 3 of the Ivs are randomly selected for either parent when you breed pokemon, does it means that if I use a power item to force a Iv to be passed the other 2 Ivs will be selected from the parents or the game will not count the power item and pick other 3 Ivs? and can I use power items in both parents to force 2 Iv to be passed or it only works for one?

You don't necessarily get all of the parent's 3 ivs you can get all 3 but it doesn't necessarily mean you get all 3 the power item forces the iv of the parent holding it and you can't use 2 to get 2 ivs from the parent you can only get ivs from one of the parents so when you use the power items you ge t one from one parent and the other 2 from the other parent
25% chance of inheriting 3 of Parent A's IVs and 0 of Parent B's IVs.
25% chance of inheriting 2 of Parent A's IVs and 1 of Parent B's IVs.
25% chance of inheriting 1 of Parent A's IVs and 2 of Parent B's IVs.
25% chance of inheriting 0 of Parent A's IVs and 3 of Parent B's IVs.

The game won't produce a bad egg unless the pokemon is from a AR code and you breed that is that what you were referring to.

The game will pass down the corresponding power item IV from the parent then choose 2 other IVs from the parents. The last 3 IVs will be randomly generated (0-31).
No you can't use 2 power items to pass down 2 IVs. The game will randomly choose between the 2 power item IVs and only pass down 1. IIRC if you use 2 power items there's also a small possibility that the game will not pass down any of your power item IVs. You should never use 2 power items. Use a power item on 1 parent and an everstone on the other parent or you could learn to RNG and then you wouldn't need power items. ;)

You got those numbers from the smogon thread? They're wrong. Most of the math in that thread is wrong.

Quick example:
chance of inheriting 3 of Parent A's IVs and 0 of Parent B's IVs is not 25%

This probability is calculated like so:
1) Probability that first inherited IV comes from parent A: 6/12
2)* Probability that the second inherited IV comes from parent A: 5/10
3)* Probability that the third inherited IV comes from parent A: 4/8

Probability that all 3 inherited IVs come from parent A:
(6/12)*(5/10)*(4/8)=0.125 or 12.5%

*Note: 2 assumes that 1 is true (the first inherited IV came from parent A) and 3 assumes that both 1 and 2 are true.
