Ok, so today I finally received Soul Silver, but before I talk about my journey in Johto officially starting, let me tell you about where I am going to leave off in Heart Gold. So, I beat Falkner with my level 20 Crocawnaw(SP), I visited the Ruins of Alph, I made it through all the way to Azalea Town. That's about it. I'll still carry Heart Gold's Pokewalker on me but Im going to stop until I need to play it to catch Pokemon for Soul Silver.

On to Soul Silver. I received it this morning and I opened the package. I was planning on doing an unboxing but my camera ran out of memory and I didn't have a tri-pod. But, I figured since it was Tuesday, Youtube was probably already littered with unboxing videos of varying acceptability. Anyways, I opened it, I opened my figurine to be shocked! Lugia is quite tiny compared to my BK light up Mewtwo. I'm sure they weren't trying to be proportional to that particular figure but I just thought it was funny seeing the two next to each other.

I have picked Cyndaquil, just like I did in Silver. I will always pick the fire starter. I made sure he was the right nature, modest. I would EV train him later in the game. I got him to level 8 and I caught more Pidgeys that I would ever need. I mean, really, if you lined these Pidgeys up, you could have a Pidgey army. Pidg-tacular... yea. So I moved my Cubone and Riolu eggs over and I moved my Pikachu Colored Pichu and Jirachi over. Part of my Pidgey army is in Diamond with my Bidoof army... no joke.

I quickly leveled Cubone and Riolu to 3 but I forgot that Cubone cant be self sustaining until level 7 when it learns Bone Club so it was a little slower to raise at first. Riolu was immediately able to train by itself so I got it to level 10 first. I got Cubone to level 7 with the help of Cyndaquil who, at this point, is now level 12. Cubone got to level 10 in a breeze with Bone Club.

I went through the Spout Tower, and I did some leveling in some grass. That's where I am at this very moment. Quilava is level 14, Riolu is level 13, and Cubone is level 12 or 13 (I'm not sure, I threw it on the Pokewalker before leaving). Back to playing.

Nicknames:
Quilava - Dragonzord
Riolu - Auron
Cubone - Skully

I finally got Pokemon Soul Silver!!!

I had to beat the first gym to trade over my Eevee, so now I have to train before I continue. I can finally update my Sig! :)

Up to the Elite Four but I'm struggling with Lance. He is really tough when you don't have Ice Beam.

I may have to trade in something to help even though I don't want too..

Gym Battle Four - Versus Morty!

This has its own post, it's just that awesome. I stalled Morty's Gengar with my super Pidgeotto. Armed with 30 Awakenings, I stalled it out of Sucker Punch PP. While it was helpless (Pidgeotto is Norm/Fly), I seized the opportunity to whittle it down with Gust.

Morty's Lv. 25 Gengar's moveset:

Shadow Ball
Sucker Punch
Mean Look
Hypnosis

My Lv. 23 Pidgeotto's moveset:

Tackle
Sand-Attack
Gust
Quick Attack

I'm gonna go ahead and declare myself an awesome battler now. Onward... to Cianwood City!

Just murdered Morty's gengar. (lol can you really kill a ghost?) did a little bit of training by finishing the exploration of the burnt tower and im on my way to the next gym now. Croconaw is lvl 27 all ready. :) the rest of my team Atm is:
Flaffy lvl17
Ekans lvl 16
Vulpix lvl 18 (i have a fire stone but i dont know when im gonna use it yet)
Pidgeotto lvl 19
and beedrill lvl 24. ( I never liked bug type pokemon, but after fighting bugsy where my Beedrill pwned and his Scyther nearly was the end of me, I now see the true power of some of the bugs)

At this point, I have 7 badges on Heart Gold and just defeated Team Rocket. Perhaps I'm not training enough, but I've had a hard time with several gyms, which hadn't really happened on other games.

After the joy of obtaining my first shiny starter, I decided to keep it unevolved so it can learn eruption faster (at level 49). While I'm only 9 levels away now, I feel like this was a big mistake. For a long time, Cyndaquil was incredibly weak, and my other team members didn't really make up for it.

Falkner: After training a Mareep in Sprout Tower, I had an easy time taking out both birds.
Bugsy: Cyndaquil's ember did basically nothing to Scyther. Once Kakuna and Metapod were eliminated, my Togepi used several charm attacks to sharply reduce Scyther's attack. This was my key to winning.
Whitney: Surprisingly, she wasn't a huge deal. Again, Togetic used several charms on Miltank to reduce its power, making the match easier.
Morty: The biggest pain was Haunter with hypnosis + dream eater. Otherwise, Togetic used extrasensory well, plus it has a ghost immunity.
Chuck: Honestly, I lost about 5 times to him. His Poliwrath easily demolished Cyndaquil, Togetic, Eevee, Flaaffy, and Lapras.
Jasmine: I assumed that a level-30 Cyndaquil would be able to handle this gym (or at least one of her pokemon) - I was wrong. Cyndaquil's ember and flame wheel did little damage to Magnemite, but Magnemite's thunderbolt OHKO'd Cyndaquil. To finally win this match, I took a detour to the department store and bought fire blast for Cyndaquil. The upgrade was worth it.
Pryce: Seemed easy enough. I had replaced Lapras with Red Gyarados, and Eevee had evolved into Espeon, and Cyndaquil knew fire blast, so I thought the gym would be okay. But Dewgong + rest + sleep talk is evil, so the gym took a few tries.
Rocket Radio Attack: By this point I was growing annoyed with Cyndaquil, so I used it for the entire TR plot in Goldenrod City. Cyndaquil was able to handle the grass and poison types with flamethrower/lava plume/fire blast, and it gained about 10 levels.

Current Team (sorry, I don't remember most levels):
Cyndaquil: Male, Gentle, Shiny, Level 40
Flaaffy: Female, Calm
Togetic: Male, Calm
Espeon: Female, Modest
Gyarados: Male, Naughty, Shiny (the one from Lake of Rage)

I definitely need to train Cyndaquil more (in about 9 levels, I'll finally let it evolve). Also, I want Flaaffy to evolve, and I need to decide if I'm removing Togetic from my team (since I can't get a shiny stone on my HG).

So far, this has been an interesting journey. I can't wait for my golden Cyndaquil to shed its delicate exterior, but it seems fair that Cyndaquil's been such a challenge for me (I got it after about 8 resets, so I got lucky when it came to finding a shiny starter).

LET THE MUSIC PLAY!~
Finally caught my Jolly Gastly. Ugh. That was a pain. I caught him in a Moon Ball cause it just looks too cool! I'm going through the Light House right now and once that's over with, I'm going to go buy some Ultra Balls wherever I can get them, go route 30 again, and catch a ton of weakling Pokemon so I can move the Unown Alphabet to this game and get that part over with.

So now I'm basically training up my team for Whitney... This is annoying, it takes forever to Level Up.

I figure I'll go fight her when my whole team is Level 23, then I'll go train up in the routes with Miltank/Tauros/Stanler to get fast exp.

Alright so my Golbat evolved into a Crobat! Yay, so happy with that, she found a Shiny Leaf too! <3

Togepi also evolved into a Togetic. Caught Vulpix and levelled her up to the rest of my team <3

I'll be using Bayleef to take down Whitney, this should be okay...

AstralEon

The one and only.
Before going on, I forgot to mention that I found Entei as soon as I left south of Ecruteak City; Route 37. That was a fast find for a legendary.

Starting off where I left, I was continuing my search with the Dowsing MCHN to the places I been to, to find anything else of interest. I over did it when I went back to the Union Cave while my team was weakened and low leveled and had no Escape Rope with me. I thought I had one. Still managed to get out though.

So I went back to Goldenrod City and made my way back to the Pokeathlon. I was going to play the arena again but I changed my mind and went for the Bug Catching Contest instead. So, there I go, minding my own business, when suddenly a shiny Weedle(bad pic, sorry) pops out of the tall grass. I caught it with just 1 ball, at full HP. Wahoo! I ended the contest with just 16min left to spare. I'm not going to lose this. I didn't win 1st place though, got 2nd. Still, at least I got myself a shiny.

I resumed my adventure and headed towards Ecruteak City. But, again, another surprise came out and found Raikou in the same route I found Entei. Weird. I attacked him once and he fled, as suspected. I made my way west of Ecruteak City, past some trainers, and found the Miltank Farm. I fed the sick Miltank a few of my berries but didn't have enough to cure it completely and now I'm waiting for my Orans I have planted to grow. I skipped the remaining trainers near the next city because I need my team healed up.

I made it to Olivine City and as suspected I found my Rival coming out of the Gym. He left and I looked around the city and then went for the beach. I followed it to the west side and found a new building which I haven't seen before. I went in and found a person blocking the other way. He said the Battle Frontier was here and wasn't open yet. So I left. I went to the Lighthouse and made my way up. This light house was different from last time. Took me a while to figure out how to continue upwards. I reached the top and talked to Jasmine. She told me to go get her some medicine. So I made my way down and started to prepared myself for a long journey into the endless sea.

This is where I left off because I know how big this sea is. So I'll just stop here for now.

That is so weird.. I did too.

Alright well my pokemon caught pokerus and I laughed at this. I beat team rocket and faced Pryce and such, but my pokemon are still underleveled. My Meganium is 34, Giratina is 33, Gyarados is 33, Espeon 32 and Ampharos 32. I need a good place to train before you go to Ice Cave. I'm really enjoying the game. I think it has been dumbed down since the originals but I still really like it.

Let's go to the beach, each.
Well I got the game last weekend but I had been neglecting to play it much due to some issues. I did get through most of the first part of the story, up until Violet City. When I started the game, I chose to play as a girl since I said I would on the thread here lol. I chose the name Lyra with little hearts on both side, just to be all girly-looking. Then I went downstairs and my mom gave me the Pokegear and the main menus. I love the text! It looks so clean, even though it's the same from the DPPt games. I guess it looks new since I've played the Japanese versions for so long.

Went out and saw Ethan Hawke though he didn't speak, he wanted his Marill to follow him. Got my Starter, a lovely Totodile I named "Zoroark" haha. Went to Ethan's house and talked to him, then I got kicked by the rival, then I left town to perform Elm's request of visiting Mr. Pokemon. Got Elm's number registered and went west. The music was fabulous, it sounded so new to me, foreign almost. The only Pokemon Totodile and I encountered were Pidgey, but no Sentrets. I talked to everyone I saw, I even went to the Mountain Road and fought some more Pidgey. I talked to my cute Pokemon, it always seemed happy!

Got to Cherrygrove City, or Yoshino City as I call it. Guide Gent escorted me around town, though he was almost running and I had to walk. He made a pun when we reached the ocean ("Here is the sea, as you can see!). I thought that it was nice to finally receive the Running Shows. Went north and battled a Weedle that poisoned me but I used an Antidote I bought. Got the Egg from Mr. Pokemon and the Dex from Oak, he's so pleasant! Got called by Elm and rushed back to New Bark Town to aide in anyway I could. Met the rival boy, fought him, and it made Totodile grow to level 8. Named the rival in NBT, named him Paul with music notes on both sides and saved :3

I restarted my SS last night. Realizing that I wanted to use a Cyndaquil instead of Totodile I traded my Croconaw,Pidgeotto and Togepi over to Platinum.

I have restarted and Now have a Lv. 11 Cyndaquil named Blaze. He is Brave natured and is in my PokeWalker. He is going to College with me today.

Flabebe's Kids
I accidentally turned my game off without saving, so here's what I managed to recover:

-Arrived in Goldenrod.
-Battled the trainers in the tunnel.
-Evolved Puff Daddy into Flaafy.
-Used the barber guy to make Bangerz happy (I'm trying to get it to evolve).
-Considering replacing Big Shot (Spinarak) with another Pokemon because it's taking forever to get good moves. I might just put him in the Pokewalker, though.

Current Team

Smokey the Quilava
Puff Daddy the Flaafy
Big Shot the Spinarak
Hooplah the Wooper
Bangerz the Togepi
Kangaskhan (HM slave for the most part)

Still taking it slow and steady in SoulSilver until I get my guide...

-Two badges so far!

-Falkner's Pokemon were no match for Mareep, of course. She's now a Flaaffy...

- For Bugsy, I had Flaaffy use Thunder Wave on Scyther to slow it down (fortunately for her, Scyther used Leer on the first turn!). Quilava took care of the rest...

-After collecting some Green Apricorns over the past few days (going back and forth each day), I received some Friend Balls from Kurt this morning. I caught four female Zubat and decided on using one with a Calm nature and is "proud of its power". Once she learns Bite and eventually Wing Attack, training her will be a breeze -- especially once she evolves into Golbat. Since I caught her in a Friend Ball, I don't have to worry too much about when she'll evolve into Crobat...

- I'm ready to trade a Shuppet and Ralts from my Platinum Version over to SoulSilver, now that I at least have two badges. Both are newly hatched and untrained, but have powerful moves that will make them easy to train. I've also attached a couple of items that will come in handy when I receive a certain Pokemon in Goldenrod City...

On my second play-through of Soul Silver at the moment, chasing Suicune around Kanto. I've had surprisingly good luck with getting good nature legendary pokemon. Got Timid Lugia and Mewtwo on first play through, and while I was SRing for another Lugia, I managed to find a shiny one. All in all, I love the game and I'm so glad they decided to include so many new things in it's recreation. Gold and Silver are indeed back with a vengeance.

Kicked Clair's butt, passed the dragon user test along with getting my final badge the rising badge, captured a dratini, defeated the Kimono Girls and captured Lugia, Dratini evolved into Dragonair, beat the elite four and Lance, got on the SS Aqua and made it to Kanto, and now I'm currently in Lt. Surge's gym, ready to take him down for my first Kanto gym badge, the thunderbadge.

this is a Nessa x Sonia stan account ✨
Did more than I thought last night.

- Eevee evolved into Vaporeon.
- Level grinded Vaporeon up to level 25.
- Challenged Morty and got the Fog Badge. His Gengar didn't want to die.
- Continued on to Olivine City.
- Fed the Miltank 3 berries.
- Arrived in Olivine.
- Made by way to the top of the lighthouse.

I guess I should talk to Jasmine, then go back to the Bell Tower next.

Team:
Quilava - 27
Flaaffy - 28
Vaporeon - 27
(HM Slave Raticate)

I think I'm going to spend a lot of time in Kanto, so that I can prepare my team for Red and the Kanto Gym Leaders. Because my team seriously needs to get stronger, and I believe that the best way for that to happen is to train them in the Kanto region. Until my whole team is at least in the 50s and 60s, we are not returning to Johto. I'll use Cerulean Cave to prepare them for Red.

I beat the R2 Elite 4 last night. It sure was a breeze for my team! Especially Lance.

(Kingdra as lead) Salamence = Draco Meteor, Garchomp = Draco Meteor, Altaria = Outrage, Dragonite = Outrage, (switch to Jolteon) Thunderbolted Charizard and Gyarados.

I got Koga with Metagross (Poison resistance ftw), Karen with Infernape, Will with a mix of everyone, and Bruno with Kingdra.
