Okay my White 2 is frankly ridiculous. After exactly 1600 REs a shiny Litwick appeared and I have my Halloween target some 28 days early which also means Community Hunt Complete.

I'm really quite staggered to be honest, I only started this hunt yesterday and was expecting a longer hunt after the excellent luck I've been having in this game lately. This is my fourth shiny under half odds in a row in this game although he did break two other patterns that had developed on this BQ. Firstly this is my first male shiny since my starter and is therefore my only 50:50 male shiny on this game and secondly he broke the trend of mediocre or outright bad natures that all of my shinies have had in this game with a quiet nature which is incredible. I am delighted to have a Litwick, Chandelure is one of my absolute favourite shinies although I love the entire line so will probably hunt a couple more Litwick sometime in the future.

So next in this game I'll be hunting in the outside area of Reversal Mountain for a Trapinch for which I will be using a level 34 repel trick which leaves only Trapinch and Skarmory. First though back to my Heart Gold and the third phase for Shinx which will once again be on Route 48.

Yay for a nice quick hunt! Modest (Everstone), and also got Drought, so very happy with that! IVs are 31/31/21/31/31/31 so overall, I'd say pretty good!

With Tangela my first Shiny Team is complete. Charmander, Ralts(Gallade), Nidoran Male, Eevee(Jolteon), Shellder, and Tangela. That's been my go to team since Gen 1 and I'm kind of stoked to have them all Shiny. I still need to nickname them all and I need to come up with some way to name the teams as well but at least I've made it this far.

As for my next hunt I'm 300 Eggs into finding a Houndour but so far I've had no luck. Of course Houndour took a bit longer to get started because I wanted to breed Sucker punch onto it and I had a level 1 Poochyena and decided that would be the quickest way. Forgot that it doesn't learn Sucker punch until level 49 or something crazy >.< Rattata would've been way easier.

Good news and bad news! Mostly good news though After 1,556 SRs (4,668 seen), and the 56th SR of the day I found my 3rd Shiny Chikorita! It also happens to be the 2 year anniversary of my first shiny Chikorita, which I also found on October 3rd (and subsequently started my BQ), so it’s extra fitting that I found it today The bad news is…Now I need 2 Cyndaquil and ONLY Cyndaquil D: The reason I wanted Cyndaquil this time around was because afterwards, I’d still have a 67% chance of getting a starter I need…Now I have a 33% chance for as long as it takes to get 2 more Cyndaquil :x (My chatbox color coincidence failed for the first time ;p) But the important thing is something I needed shone and it didn’t take too long And that being said, if I can find 2 Chikorita in a row, I can find 2 Cyndaquil in a row as well, right?

Male, Timid nature, Often scatters things, and IVs: 22 – 5 – 4 – 6 – 16 – 12. Evolved my 2nd Chikorita to Bayleef mainly since my 2nd Totodile was evolved to Croconaw. May as well just keep the trend! I almost didn’t SR today…I woke up a bit later than usual and wondered if I should even spend the time on the starters or just get right to my main hunts, but thought, “Who knows, maybe today’s the day I find it?” And it paid off

Hiya everyone, it's been forever since I last posted on here! I've had a lot of personal stuff going on in my life for the past year, so I ended up taking a bit of a hiatus from Pokemon and shiny hunting for quite a while. But I happily got right back into it a few months ago, and now things aren't so crazy I'm glad to be able to come back to the forum.

I'll have to give a blanket congrats this time, because there's been so, so many great shinies that everyone's gotten since I was last here. It's great to see so many people have been having success though ^_^.

Soo, where to start off? Back in July, I evolved the last shiny I'd posted about on here, Eevee, to an awesome Umbreon.

After that I had the hiatus, until I ended up getting Alpha Sapphire for my birthday this year. That's when I started a Badge Quest, like I'd planned to before .


BQ Target 1: Mudkip (Soft Reset in Littleroot Town)

I decided to SR for Mudkip, as it's my second favourite of the Hoenn starters and I love its purple colour. My little brother had decided to hunt for a shiny of his favourite starter, Torchic, at the same time as me on Omega Ruby, so that made it more fun. The lucky guy managed to get one in only a few hundred soft resets after a couple of days! I thought it would be great if the same happened for me, and after 932 SRs...

I SR over a Shiny Mudkip. I wasn't paying proper attention while pressing the buttons, saw it clearly for a second, and bam. I was so gutted since I'd never been so careless like that before; I had to stop for a couple of days T.T. That didn't mean I was going to give up though! It just made me more determined than ever to reclaim it. Then, in the middle of August after a further 9390 SRs...

Mudkip shone again! And this time I saw it very clearly- I like that it took so much longer to reappear probably just to spite me XD.

Ended up with a pretty decent nature, and I'll check the IVs after EV training later on. I named him Axol, after Axolotls of course~

BQ Target 2: Ralts (Horde Encounters on Route 102)

After getting Axol, I decided I'd try my first horde hunt and go for Ralts. I knew they had a low encounter rate compared to Zigzagoon and Lotad, but figured either of the three choices would be a great shiny to have. 1096 HEs/ 5480 pokemon seen later and:

Even though Ralts was my original target, I'm actually really happy that I got Zigzagoon since that was the first shiny I found on the original Sapphire, as a random pokemon one day, so to me it's a long due reclaim <3.

My current, third aim is for Aron in Granite Cave via HEs. I'm currently at 2810 HEs/ 14,050 pokemon seen, and hoping something shines soon: preferably Aron, but I wouldn't mind a Zubat either XD. I'm hoping to get back to my SS/ White/ White 2 targets too once I've progressed further in my BQ, just figured it's best to focus on it for now so I can attempt to be ready for some online and local competitions.

After seeing this new Community Hunt (i missed the vote again sorry x.x; ), i think i'll be going for Honedge for this month (unfortunately i didn't complete last months since Larvesta took a long time (but she was sooo worth it as i said xD), so i'm determined to complete this one...however i'm aiming for a shiny Buneary now (as a birthday gift for a friend, he likes shiny Lopunny and has been trying for such a long time, like before April), so wanted to do this for him. I'll go for Honedge after i get Buneary though (i feel my friends birthday gift is more important than getting my own shiny).

So far i've collected 4 boxes of Buneary eggs, i hope it won't take as long as Larvesta. I'm already 91 eggs down on my hunt (after hatching the rest of the Larvesta eggs).

I hatched 60 or so more Larvitar eggs for my Masuda Method hunt these past two days, and I also did more consecutive fishing on OR/AS but found nothing unfortunately. But of course, a big congrats to Thibideau, PrismaticPrincessAnna, and others on their new Shinies.

so apparently poochyena shining after only about 77 encounters via dexnav was uber luck? because surskit refuses to shine... 207 encounters and chain didnt break untill 65!!!

any tips for dex nav chaining? is it a lie??
my starter is now level 27....i have one badge XD

Dexnav chaining doesn't increase the chances of a shiny. The odds are set. 1 dexnav encounter or 1000 dexnav encounters, it'll always be the same. However chaining supposedly increases your chances of getting better potential like IVs and egg moves etc. Good luck on your hunt! My advice would be to just not rush but make sure the Pokemon doesn't flee before you get to it. Try to run until you get close to the Pokemon then sneak up to it.

ANYHOW.

My Treecko hunt is starting to get really boring. I have a feeling it'll shine this week. I'm at 3634 SRs now. I don't wanna hunt for anything else just yet, but I might go for a quick ghost type FS shiny for Halloween once I get Treecko :3

Oh Shinys. In the past they are very very rare. Only few Trainers get those Pokemon. Now everybody has shiny and there not special anymore. Men, i wish the shiny Pokemon will be rare the in the future, like in the past.

I have been having the worst luck in terms of shiny hunting. It's been a good month and not a single shiny shows up. Did more SRs on Zekrom, nothing, Dratini at 300-something eggs, and nothing, did a bunch of hoards, nothing, chain, nothing. I hope this bad luck streak will end sooner or later. Congrats to everyone who isn't as unlucky at me. Especially guy who posted two above me.

Still on Omega Ruby: was soft resetting for a shiny Terrakion, then I gave up after realizing I didn't soft reset for Virizion and Cobalion, so I gave up and caught him. I'm currently taking a break from trying to hatch a shiny Staryu (not giving up on it), to soft reset for a shiny Cresselia. Soft resetting for a shiny Reshiram was a pain, and it took me a few months!!! All I can say about Cresselia...well, here I go again...

Took a long break from shiny hunting when ORAS came out and took a break from pokemon entirely for about half a year but just recently got back into the swing of things and just finished the nat dex for a shiny charm so the hunts will be resuming for me now.
