6 encounters into another dark safari and I get a shiny sableye. That is one of my shorter FS hunts. Female, naughty, likes to thrash about, and has her hidden ability, Prankster. She's going into my trade box for Artnerd.

Maniac Tunnel remains at 6,700 REs. Ledyba is at 420 eggs.

Edit: And after only 463 eggs...

[img139]http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s225/Primus001/Shiny%20Pokemon/919_zpsmyfqi4i3.jpg[/img139]

...shiny ledyba. She's quirky and capable of taking hits, and she got her HA, Rattled. Gonna keep her a ledyba. I just wanted a gold ladybug.

I think the last thing I may breed in Y will be a competitive-grade beedrill (even though I don't compete online). I was thinking of asking around for a female weedle in an apricorn ball, but instead I decided to just go catch a female kakuna in a dive ball and breed from that. The beastliest of female offspring will be saved for ORAS so I can get a vicious shiny mega beedrill over there.

Community hunt complete x2!

I have a stupid question, has the shiny charm/masuda method trick been bricked with a patch or something? I am on the hunt for a shiny Chimchar and I do not remember it being this hard to get a shiny with the MM/SC. I took a 1 and a half year break from playing, but I remember getting Charmander after 37 eggs, Dratini at like 8, Growlithe was fairly quickly as well, Froakie was the hardest but was under 200. I've been at it with Chimchar at 500 eggs still no luck. Is it just bad luck, or has something been changed, does the shiny charm/MM not stack up anymore??

Edit: Wow, just looked back at my posts from when I hatched Dratini and Growlithe, Dratini was in 6 eggs not 8, Growlithe was in 59 eggs. How lucky was I. Charmander 37. I would like that luck back. It's as if I had a real life shiny charm at that time.

It's all luck to be frank. I've had a run of good luck recently but my planned MM's have gone well into the 300+ range. Just be patient really :3

Congratulations to Cyberra on Ladyba and Munchlax! Was breeding heavy ball Munchy myself recently but don't have the patience to MM it. Those IV's are pretty dang sweet too! xD

Also congrats to Fairy on Fletchie. :)

Last weekend I think, I hatched my second shiny Bulba. This time in a nest ball with HA! xD. Hatched around the 70 egg mark. Was only lookin' for 5IVs. But so happy! Modest with spread of 31/x/31/31/31/31

Last unplanned MM was Monday and a shiny Dratini Adamant with outstanding potential. Hatched at like 15 eggs ^^

31/x/31/31/31/31 +_+ was so ..... ugh haha. Will have to redo it some day. But i hadn't bred it into a nest ball anyway!

Now going to hunt for quick ball Riolu.

It's up to luck, plain and simple. I once hatched a shiny fletchling in 6 eggs with MMing, no shiny charm. And then I needed close to 3,800 eggs to hatch a shiny woobat, with the shiny charm. It's all up to luck. Yours is just bad at the moment.

Sadly, it would happen to be bad luck. Nintendo would not patch the Masuda method, being as that has been around since Gen 3 and is part of how they construct the games. Secondly, the shiny charm is another attribute they intentionally put into the game for the use of players. SC/MM combined is not a trick over all, it just happens to be using two very beneficial ways to obtain shinies that Gamefreak gave us. So, over all, boils down to poor luck. :c

Most you can do is keep hatching, and hope for the best! n.n

In other news....

Congratulations to Lanufloon for Flebebe and Combee, Clipowl for Totodile, Cyberra for Muchlax, Absol, and Ladyba, Hokker fpr Helioptile, Camhines4 for the three Cubones, and Sneasel, FairyWitch on Fletchling (Keep on hatching!), Wobbanut for Sunkern, Swablu, Magikarp, and Buneary, Regi_Rocks for Bulbusaur and Dratini! Long list, but you all deserve the cheers! Keep on hunting!

As for me, after reading about the success that Camhines4 and Wobbanut had, and remembering how I've snagged a few shinies on DPPt with Chaining, last night I decided I would give it crack again. I needed a bit of a break from 6th gen games anyways. Over all, it took a while to get back into doing it successfully, but after I finally got into the groove of it I still couldn't find anything. Highest chain was 24 before a Zubat crashed my Chingling chain. ;-; After switched to OR for some just as successful chain fishing. Just wasn't having it. XD

Tonight I believe I will go to the Battle Resort and work on some Amaura eggs so I can AFK it while I try for Chingling some more on Pearl. Good luck and Cheers to y'all!

its just luck don't worry just keep going which the charm just decreases the odds by a little which doesn't always guarantee you in 512 eggs that it will be shiny, its just a odd which each time you collect a egg its 1/512 it will be shiny. I wouldn't worry much charm or not you still have a chance you can be over the odds x2 or more. good luck on that shiny though it will hatch at some point keep going! ^_^

I didn't go back to hatching more fletchling eggs since I took a break to play fates for a bit which I will be going back to 8 more boxes of fletchlings to hatch again soon.

congrats to cyberra on the ledyba,Regi_Rocks on Bulbasaur(I have one too he is a venasaur now ^_^),and dratini.

thank you regirocks and carbthuluhu on the congrats!

good luck to others still hunting and congrats to the others I accidentally missed if I did >.<

Torchic, MM, no shiny charm ~20 eggs. Didn't expect that as was just trying to get an extra perfect one for my friend. It has speed boost and was missing attack and defense IVs.

I gave up on Chimchar because it was draining my desire to shining hunt. I went looking for a Togepi in friend safari, it was not even 10 encounters in, it appeared. I would not have known it was shiny unless it sprinkled because the color is nearly identical to it's unshiny form. I had a sync Ralts in the front with Bold nature, the Togepi is Bold with serene grace and has only 3 good IV's.

Hey guys/girls...do you think Togepi/Togetic/Togekiss are the most pointless shiny pokemon to grind for? From what I can tell, it is quite possibly the least change in colors of any pokemon of all 700+. Or are there any worse one's in terms of like almost not changing at all? Gengar maybe? It would be really nice if GameFreak gave some Pokemon, the one's that seem to not really change in color, an overhaul and give them a better shiny form.

Looking for a Growlithe in friend safari, just found an unwanted Slugma. I caught it but I don't even want to put it in my "shiny box", I will nonetheless because it's shiny. So that's Togepi last night and now Slugma in the morning.

Accidentally hatched a MM shiny female Shieldon this morning, while trying to hatch a 6V HA.
Unfortunately, this meant no Everstone was in play, so she's Rash, 31/31/x/31/31/31 with Soundproof.

Running around in a ground safari this time. After 385 encounters, a grey and white diggersby shakes its ears at me. Male, relaxed, likes to thrash about, and he got his HA, Huge Power. Gonna put him aside for trading later.

Maniac Tunnel is still at 6,700 REs. Weedle is at 120 eggs.

Edit: And the very first egg after I return to my MMing...

[img139]http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s225/Primus001/Shiny%20Pokemon/921_zpsohjqpdfk.jpg[/img139]

There he is. Shiny weedle. He's jolly and alert to sounds, with his HA, Run Away. It surprised the heck out of me when I started breeding the kakuna I caught and realized I'd managed to snag one with a hidden ability. Kakuna always has Shed Skin, no matter what the pre-evolved and evolved forms have, making it impossible to tell until it's bred or evolved. I got very luck with that one.

His name is the result of me being a smart alec.

Community hunt complete x3!

I'm probably going to go to AS to begin my torchic SR next. I may come back to Y for further MMing at a later date. Maybe.

Congratulations to Cyberra on Weedle and Kelv on Bulbasaur. Both sweet shinies!

Good luck to y'all!

Congratulations to Doomdour for Torchic, Kelv for Togepi, Slugma, and Bulbasaur (I agree on the poor shiny version of Togepi -.-), Echo Nacyl on Shieldon (Accidental shinies are the best!), and Cyberra for Diggersby and Weedle. Good luck and happy hunting to y'all and everyone!

As for me, I have been doing a lot of fruitless grinding...

Being as I planned to go to the Battle Resort to AFK breed, I needed to finish the Delta Episode. I kind of forgot to get around to doing so, and that took a chunk of time to run around and accomplish all the tasks. Once I was finished, I proceeded to breed up two boxes of Amaura, a box and a half of Scatterbug, and two boxes of Pumpkaboos. Needed to change things up so I wouldn't go mad by seeing the normal non-shiny version.

While I was cycling around the island with the benefit of a penny, I pulled out a second system to work on chaining on Pearl. After Chingling evaded me for a while, I settled with Meditite and was able to get that chain up to 40. During one of the bouts of running around to charge the battery my chain ended up breaking some how. Not exactly sure why, I never ran out of the grass, and I didn't hit a random grass patch- my chain just ended up poofing. That was fairly frustrating.

.... and some beneficial hunting.

In between my boxes of eggs, I would go off to the coast and attempt to do some chain fishing to just break up the spew. I was using a good rod and hoping to be able to catch a Tentacool- one shiny I would like to have. In the process I roped in a shiny Remoraid after about 38, and then three more casts after that I dragged in another shiny magikarp! Just glad to know my game doesn't completely hate me. XD I am probably going to keep hatching eggs for the day, switching between Pumpkaboo and Amaura, and I'll add some edits if I end up getting lucky.

Cheers, and happy hunting!

Meet Haruto! I was MM'ing and after 199 eggs this guy hatched for me. He has 5IVs, Adamant, Baton Pass, but has Blaze as an ability. He's super cute anyways!

I disappeared for a while there, but I did go after shiny Magikarp and just now hatched it. Male, Jolly with the IVs x/31/31/31/31/31. The reason I was gone for so long is that it had only appeared on the 1,158th egg. There could be multiple different Pokémon I could hunt, but I'll tell you what it'll be.

Heeeeeeeeeeeeey

First of all, Congrats to LilyValley on Magikarp and Lexya428 on Torchic! Good work.

I'm back! Much sooner then I expected. Spent most of last night Multi battling (or not -.-) and hatching Ralts. I don't hatch in batches, just as they come really.

Anyway, I had like 4 boxes worth and no shiny. Decided I wanted to fill the last box so when I started in the morning I could be fresh (yeah I'm weird :p)

So, it was like 3am or something and it finally finally hatched shiny ^^

It was noticable right away :)

[IMG139]http://i1077.photobucket.com/albums/w469/Olorin1990/IMAG02171_zpsrmebqru6.jpg[/IMG139]
So, I headed straight for the IV Judge and he said "I see, I see, This Pokemon has Outstanding Potential overall".

A good start and it has an IV spread of 31/31/31/31/31/31...... Which I can prove if needbe.

Best shiny I've hatched so far!!!! ^^

All the best to those hunting! Unsure of what to go after right now tbh.

Congrats in all recent shinies people :D

I was MM'ing Totodile for quite long and got 6 IV:s diles before shiny ones- now finally I received Shiny Totodile boy, didn't use everstone so nature was random but this one had Adamant nature and perf IV:s in atk, spdef and spd which is kinda awesome while others were not perfect (yet it had outstanding stats)

Congratulations on everyone's shinies recently!

Well, I finally have more shiny news.
Yesterday I had a 10 hour car drive, during which I had time to hatch more Honedge eggs.
And yes, one shined.
It was Adamant, like most of my other MM's thanks to that Ditto of mine.
But its IVs...31/x/31/31/31/31. ...Seriously.
I was planning on coming here to talk about how that irritates me. After 1,739 Honedge eggs, I get that.

But...
Later that day, I hatched a second shiny Honedge. This one was much better for my uses.
Its IVs: x/31/31/31/31/31. It came from about egg 1,796. Out of my last five eggs from the group I had ready. (I have been doing groups of 100 lately.)
Like I said, better for me. I am currently training this one (It is already an Aegislash. I did have to go to my secret base because I was out of Dusk Stones somehow.)

Good luck to everyone else!

Wait. That means...Community Hunt Complete x2!

EDIT:

Well, that was fast.
I just hatched a shiny Dratini after about egg 110. This was my first group of eggs in this hunt.
It has an IV spread of x/31/31/x/31/31. Useable, but too bad its ability is Shed Skin.
I am using a HA 5 IV (missing special attack) Dragonite for breeding, so I am hoping for a HA shiny Dratini.
I suppose I will finish this group of eggs, then continue my hunt if another one does not shine. Seeing as I got this one rather quickly, I am fine with hatching more for this hunt.
So...Community Hunt Completed x3 I suppose?

Congratulations to everyone who caught new shinies this week.

I managed to catch the following pokemon using the dexnav feature. They are Tyrogue, 2 Raticate, 2 Rattata, Spring Form Deerling & Joltik. I also managed to randomly catch a Golbat in Victory Road. This is my 4th random encounter this game.

Good luck to everyone on their current and future hunts.
