Good news. I was trying to hatch a Naughty natured Riolu with an attack characteristic when I ran into a shiny Tympole in the grass. Caught it and fully evolved it. Congratulations to all those who have new shiny pokemon.

Well, it took 186 eggs, however with a bit of time and patience I was able to hatch my shiny Pumpkaboo! COMMUNITY HUNT COMPLETE!

It is perfect IV's except for HP, Hardy Nature with Trick, Astonish, and Confuse Ray. It's ability is Pickup, which is good because I will actually use that over Frisk. I plan on coming up with a name for him, just haven't thought about it. Aside from that I haven't been up to much, and I plan on playing X to complete the game. I'll be taking a break from shiny hunting for a while, so if I do get around to posting something sooner than next weekend, then I either got lucky, or ended up stearing away from X... again... XD

Now I've hatched over 100 Gothita, and when I got to the 132nd it was a shiny. However, it does not have Shadow Tag so I must keep going. I like to believe that this is my game's drawback for rewarding me a shiny this early, and I'm starting over now, back to 0.

My secret target just shined!! After 4,425 RA's shiny Mew appears!!



I'm just so shocked right now.. and I can't stop shaking ahh lmao! Like I said before, this is a dream shiny of mines I have always wanted. Its just I didn't have a GBA or an AR to gain access to Faraway Island, I didn't even have a copy of Emerald lol. So one day when I went over to my Nephews I noticed he had a copy of emerald just laying around, he told me his friend gave it to him and thats when I realized that hunting for shiny Mew might actually be a real thing for me lol. He said I could use it since he wasn't playing it anyway and now at this point all I needed was a GBA and AR.. and money lol. I would of used my Nephews DS, which is what he was playing emerald on.. but that ds was in bad shape, like REALLY bad shape so no way was I gonna shiny hunt on it. Thankfully, I actually had money to spare and was able to get what I needed (ebay <3!) So now, I just needed to beat Emerald from scratch since I guess my nephew started a new file and side note; Emerald is sooo good! I forgot how great of a game it is, definitely enjoyed playing through it. So yeah, that's how this hunt came to be. Capturing this beauty went really smooth, I used Poocheyena as lead and Mew was so nice to use Transfrom on the first turn. After putting it to sleep and 1 Dive Ball later it was mine! :] Ahh so happy! I don't even care if Shinx is at ~38k now lool but yeah, its time I really focus on this BQ now, Shinx will be mine!

Got Poochyena while breeding for Adamant 5 IV. Having more luck without the charm. Just missing perfect SpD. Pretty rad.

I finally got Ho-Oh to shine!!! It's my first shiny in months and it feels so good to have it. Synchronize didn't work- I got a serious nature, and its perfect IVs are in Attack, Special Attack, and Speed. http://imgur.com/yq9JkO2
Not sure what I want to do for my next hunt. I have a couple that I really want to go for, but I can't decide right now. I guess after all my homework is done tonight I'll make my decision.

I did more fishing for shinies on my Alpha Sapphire game this weekend. The good news was that I found a shiny with this method, but the bad news is that it was a shiny Wailmer which I have already. I caught this shiny any ways, but I hope I'll snag a shiny Sharpedo instead during my next fishing attempt.

Got another accidental shiny while breeding for IVs. This time it was a Karrablast. Male, Adamant, x/x/31/31/31/31 outstanding, with Swarm.
I was just hatching eggs while in the car, got distracted from my 3DS to give driving directions, looked back down and saw teal instead of blue.

you got some luck like my accidental re in friend safari when y came out XD I got at least 5 shinies while just looking for hidden abilitys XD I wasn't even trying which it would of been 6 but one used roar which was a shiny snubbull -_- congrats ^_^

anyway I about almost done hatching my eggs for my rest of my boxes which no shiny at all so will be storing another 10 boxes of eggs for round 2 hopefully another fletchling shines and with gale wings >.<

But to the reason I'm posting, SS BADGEQUEST SHINY NUMBER 3!
I have gotten chikorita, mareep, and now shiny dratini! got this naive female from the game corner after saving up for a while and then SR 5 of them for a few days. I was so excited for this one, having a dragonite on my team will be awesome.
My badgequest is going almost too well, I mean yeah my starter was nearly a two year long hunt, but since I got it I've gotten a shiny every week. Yes I put in a lot of hunting time when I'm doing simple things and don't have to pay much attention to the game, but I don't know how long that will last, but I hope my luck doesn't run out too soon.

CH completion list updated - also, a bit more clarification in the first post regarding the Sun/Moon Stone one.

Sadly, it would happen to be bad luck. Nintendo would not patch the Masuda method, being as that has been around since Gen 3 and is part of how they construct the games.

Gen 4, actually. MM didn't exist in Gen 3 and lower.

I hatched the 166th Gothita after staring over, and found that it was a second shiny. Quick, but yet again without Shadow Tag. These surprises are nice, but to get my hopes up and be let down for a second time certainly has its effects on me. So I'm going to try what I did this morning: start over the count for another.

EDIT: Look at that. Shiny Gothita on the 96th egg, once I started over. And it does have Shadow Tag, Sassy and the IVs are 31/x/31/31/x/31.

Huge congratulations to everyone who has been shiny hunting. I see a lot of new names and a lot of familiar names on here which is wonderful.

It's been a very long time since I last posted here, work and family life has definitely got the greater of me, but I've decided to give everyone an update of my hunts.
I have officially cancelled shiny hunting in my Heart Gold Badge Quest and any hunting in Y/ORAS as I just don't have the time to focus on more than one game anymore.
With that in mind, I am still doing my X version Route Quest (Getting a shiny on every route/cave/city before I can move on) and I have had some amazing luck these last few months.
I think I last posted when I was on Route 7 having just got a shiny Swirix, but now I am way ahead.
Since my last post, I have found:
Shiny Zubat (F) - Connecting Cave - 5940 RE's
Shiny Absol (M) - Route 8 - 2825 RE's
Shiny Luvdisc (F) - Ambrette Town - Chain of 17 Fishing
Shiny Helioptile (M) - Route 9 - 2962 Sweet scents on Rhyhorn.
Shiny Machop (M) - Glittering Cave 4306 SR's
And whilst EV training Machop, I got my 1st Horde shiny of the game on the very 1st sweet scent... a Shiny Gulpin!!!!

I can't believe the luck I've had in this game, almost all shiny's have been below the odds and I don't even have the shiny charm.

Anyway, i'm on to the next stage, but need some help as I want to Soft Reset for a fossil Pokemon, but have only found 3 Old Amber in 3 hours of rock smashing. Should I persist or continue onto the next route? I technically already have the Ambrette town shiny.

It took 513 DexNav encounters in Petalburg Woods, but I finally found shiny Cottonee. She's timid nature and takes plenty of siestas and I named her Whitney after Eli Whitney, inventor of the cotton gin. With that, Community Hunt complete!

I am currently planning to make Ancient-egypt themed pokemon team and I try to MM shiny Ekans for it. I'm also looking for shiny Riolu from Friend Safari with no luck so far- except that I found one shiny Pancham- but not what I needed for my team... No luck with Ekans after like 10 boxes soon I think...

I was going to post this sooner, but I was away on a trip for 9 days. I found this shiny Pinsir last Tuesday! I found her in 729 DexNav encounters. Right before I was about to go to bed Pinsir shined for me. She knows her hidden ability Moxie. Good luck everyone on your shiny hunts!

Summary

Got demotivated after trying to get my 7th badge quest shiny went past 24000+ encounters/resets so I stopped hunting for a while. The news about Sun and Moon got me hyped up again so I decided to come back to shiny hunting albeit more casually. Got this after only hunting for an hour today which is ironic considering my last hunt. Unfortunately it's Jolly nature, but it's one of my all time favorite shinies so I couldn't be happier. Maybe now I'll try getting my seventh badge quest shiny again.
