Ooooooh. Well yes, that is true. I don't think anyone was trying to dispute that though, I think they just took it for granted that that was the case and didn't really need explaining. I, for one, just thought you were debating whether the Elite 4 had anything to do with it at all. Obviously once you do beat the Elite 4 then you will have to connect online, otherwise how would the other person know? The key point though, is that you have beaten the Elite 4, not just that you are simply online whatever your point in the story. Hope that doesn't come across mean or snarky, I didn't mean for it too.

Well actually if you look back almost everyone who I was talking to disputed the fact getting online had anything to do with it all besides the special abilities. Most people said beating the elite 4 made the third pokemon appear not getting online, but it really doesn't matter anyway

Well I just hatched a shiny Pumpkaboo with around 80 eggs, a male with a sassy nature; it wouldn't have been my first choice, but i love him either way. Their coloring is magnificent by the way, i am literally in awe. My next MM hunt is to be determined, i'm thinking about another 6th generation pokemon. Good luck on your hunts everybody!

300 eggs hatched in search of shiny Helioptile. Hopefully MM will be kind to me after the 1,600 non shiny Fennekin eggs I hatched. I'm hoping it will take less than 600 but knowing my luck so far in this game that is doubtful. Also random question After what badge do you unlock this chain fishing thing?? And do you need to have surf for the method to work???

I've hatched 570 eggs (19 boxes) so far of Hawlucha and no luck...

I just gave up and tried fish chaining and ended up with a shiny Clauncher after about 5 minutes with 26 reels according to the fisherman.

I'll try going for shiny Hawlucha again later.

Edit: Oh yeah...this is also my first *legit* shiny since RSE.

Clauncher It took a chain of 90 hooks to get the sucker, but I'm glad I did!

Ok, THIRD shiny of the day, a Charmeleon from the Friend Safari, after getting Poliwag and Poliwhirl today by chain fishing, I tried my luck in the Safari, in maybe an hour or 2, a Charmeleon appeared , even though I had my Kirlia with Sync for modest, I didnt got in that nature, gonna keep on hatching my fenekin eggs, already lost count of how many i have hatched, thinking maybe 20ish boxes? Not gonna stop till i get that Fennekin, and managed to get the lv 3 Hatching o power, hope it helps me.

Wow, it has been awhile since I posted here. Today, I was in a friend safari when I encountered my first shiny in X, Hariyama.

He's got a Brave nature with its hidden ability, Sheer Force.

I'm glad that chaining has been brought back, but I'll have to adjust from D/P/Pt chaining to X/Y chaining, since there's more rules. I may try fish chaining, but I always seem to get to around 10-15 before the message saying there wasn't a nibble.

I am so happy with how things are going with consecutive fishing! I am absolutely loving this new mechanic! Just after my previous post a few pages back, I managed to capture a shiny Dragonair and a shiny Basculin (Blue Stripe) within two hours. Here is a list of the shiny Pokémon that I have so far:

I am so happy with how things are going with consecutive fishing! I am absolutely loving this new mechanic! Just after my previous post a few pages back, I managed to capture a shiny Dragonair and a shiny Basculin (Blue Stripe) within two hours.

Very nice on the Dragonair. Once I fished a Dratini up and realized that they could be shiny I was pretty happy, haven't tried it seriously yet.
I'm not gonna bother listing my chain fishing catches for the day but will instead share that FS Mawile will be my next target. Shouldn't be hard and I kind of want a longer hunt instead of the 10 minute hunts I (and nearly everyone) is enjoying.

Chain fishing has been a huge success for me today, as I've found 2 shiny relicanths and a shiny clawitzer. One of the relicanths killed itself with recoil though, and I was quite angry. Still happy overall though!

I'll most definitely try chain fishing after I finish up trying to get a shiny vulpix. 450~ or so eggs via MMing and still nothing, I'm starting to lose hope but since this is my first time ever trying to hatch a shiny I'll just try to get it over with already.

So I've been breeding Phantump eggs for the past couple days off and on, while trying other methods on occasion and wonder trading the babies. I'm currently at around 130 eggs, (keeping track by puting one baby in a separate box every time I fill a box, so I know I have multiples of 30 plus the current box) and I'm taking a little break to try some chain fishing. I'd tried a couple times earlier but got distracted and had to leave, so I'm back tonight trying in route 21. Hoping for a Poliwhirl or Dragonair, but I'd be fine witha basculin, just to get SOMETHING.

In case anyone's interested in Adamant Phantump, I've got jillions on the way, so feel free to pm me. XD

EDIT- chain currently at roughly 40, just caught a regular dragonair because I know how hard they are to find. I figure I'll have better luck breeding a shiny one than catching it XD

do horde encounters give me a better chance of finding a shiny, since its 5>1 instead of just 1? I've been trying to find a shiny klefki in a horde :3

Just found a shiny barbacle in less than 100 encounters in the friend safari! It has a neutral nature and it's secret ability, so all around it's pretty nice! I nicknamed him Wes Welker because I'm a broncos fan

I return with 3 shinies. Last night I got a shiny larvesta in the friend safari while I was hunting for a growlithe.

A friend asked me to check his Friend Safari so that he could know the type...first encounter was a shiny Espurr (female). Shiny number 3 this gen for me! Good times!

Edit: Just found a shiny Bergmite via Friend Safari! Count goes to 4 for me!

LUCKYYY! I seriously just got ANOTHER shiny Onix going for Barbaracle. This is ridiculous >.<! This is now my 6TH shiny Onix encounter. ughhhhh!
