Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future

Hi all. We had a couple of reports of people's signatures getting edited etc. in a bad way. You can rest assured this wasn't done by staff and nobody has compromised any of our databases.
However, remember to keep your passwords secure. If you use similar passwords to elsewhere which has been accessed, people and even bots may be able to access your account.
We always recommend using unique passwords, and two-factor authentication if you are able. Make sure you're as secure as possible -

Congrats on the Chatot, Dragonair, Ninetales (soooo cool in 3D, can't wait to trade mine over from White 2!), Honedge, Noibat Ponyta, Skiddo, Aron, Fletchinder, Frogadier/Greninja, Terrakion, Togepi, Kabuto, Amaura, Pichu, Druddigon, any other shinies on previous pages and most of all, Master of Murkrow's Shiny Spiritomb (an awesome shiny because of it's story and because it's just awesome in general)!
Still no shinies on my end. Added another 700 or so REs to my HG hunt to bring it up to 16,000. Also been REing my butt off in X finding and evolving pokemon for my pokedex......still nothing. ; _ ;
And, while I'm here, if anyone has a Ditto Friend Safari or access to one and is willing to trade a Ditto then PM me. My boyfriend was trying to find one (doesn't need a flawless one, just a good one) and he looked on the GTS but apparently all people want is legendaries and other crazy stuff.....I told him I'd ask you guys as I figured someone might have one to spare.
EDIT: I'm intrigued about this new shiny rate.....I've never heard of this OmegaDonut guy...someone else says he's legit but I would've thought if the chances were really halved then there would be a lot more pure RE shinies? It seems most shinies are FS, GF or Radar rather than RE. I for one have done lots of REing and have not encountered a single RE shiny. I'm pretty sure many others are in the same position. :S

Wow, people are sure are lucky on this board.
I was checking out the Safaris I haven't see yet and randomly encountered a Shiny Growlethe. I don't really know if I want to keep him cause he has a bashful nature and only has Hp and Sp.Def Ivs maxed. I also never used a Growlete before so I'm still deciding if I should use him anyway like the Rufflet I found.

No rod doesn't matter. are you using a poke with suction cups or sticky hold at the front of your party? (it doesn't have to be alive just at the front)
also you can't move from the spot. Other than that the only thing that'll break it is finding a shiny or not finding a nibble(which the 2 abilities above take care of that almost 100% of the time)

Ooh yea then the problem is you. All I can really say is to practice and watch the screen carefully! You have to pay extra close attention to it so that you don't reel it in too slow or fast.
Gl! You'll get the hang of it for sure!
You can register it, then you just have to press the Y button and choose the Rod (unless you don't have anything else, then it'll automaticaly throw out the rod)
2300 eggs now. This hunt isn't exactly being cooperative at this point, I really hope that it's at least a male Torchic that shines. And if anyone's curious, I have been tipping for a bit now. I don't know if anything's been figured out about that by now, but I figured I'd mention it. Not sure I have much else to add, so back to egg collecting I go.

Interesting. So how does everyone feel about these odds? I'm personally ok with it, although it kinda sucks knowing that my shiny Klefki isn't 1/8192 lol.
Also, do we know the rates for MM or FS yet?
MM is ~1/682. Won't know Friend Safari until the ROM of the games is decrypted.

I'm perfectly Ok with it :3
Before Y the only shiny I've ever encountered was a shiny grimer in that burnt mansion/lab in leafgreen.
Now 5/6 of my team is shiny ^.^ (most of them I traded a shiny I had found for though)
and also most of the shinies i've found was through friend safari, I feel that it must have a rate of 1/500 or something.
