Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future

We had a couple of reports of people's signatures getting edited etc. in a bad way. You can rest assured this wasn't done by staff and nobody has compromised any of our databases.
However, remember to keep your passwords secure. If you use similar passwords to elsewhere which has been accessed, people and even bots may be able to access your account.
We always recommend using unique passwords, and two-factor authentication if you are able. Make sure you're as secure as possible
This morning I finally managed to get an Yveltal off the GTS to complete my Kalos Pokedexes and got the Oval Charm. I'm now resuming my hunt for a shiny Zorua. This time tho I'm going to fill up all my remaining boxes with eggs instead of hatching and releasing them when I get them. Not sure if this new method is faster or not but my previous method took forever and I could never keep track of how many eggs I hatched.
I only have a shiny Noctowl (I evolved her from a shiny Hoothoot that I met on Route 1 in Kanto I'm Soul Silver by random chance), a shiny Quagsire (evolved him from a shiny Whooper in the Platinum Safari Zone. He was my first shiny, I didn't know what was happening!), a shiny Foongus (Random encounter post game in White), and the shiny Gyrados from HGSS. I cherish them all.
Hello all. Well I do have shiny news... not the best shiny news though... I was chain fishing for Dratini and well I didn't realise just how "rare" it was until I realised I had only found 1 Dratini within an 80 chain. Well before that I got to chain 5 and found a shiny... red stripe basculin.. I was like... shiny! oh wait... hmm. And then the 2nd chain where i only found 1 Dratini within 80 pokemon got all the way up to 187 when ANOTHER red stripe basuclin decided to shine for me... oh well i caught both of them and at least i got one of each gender. I just really wanted to find a shiny Dratini, i know i will probably MM for one instead though considering it must be only 1% appearance rate and i just do not want another shiny basculin. Well i changed target to Carvanha and no luck, i got one chain to almost 150 before quitting and then a few others to around 60ish with no shiny at all. I think for now i will leave the chain fishing, i did get 5 within 2 days (Corsola, Huntail, Clamperl, Basculin x2) and i got two of my targets (Huntail, Clamperl) so i am still happy. Well those Basculin have filled up my first full box of shinies on X version.

Oh nooo, don't give up!! The Basculin are annoying, I know, but I got my shiny Dratini last night! Just distract yourself a bit and talk to someone, plus level up some Pokemon while reeling in the fishies. (My Octillery grew about 25-30 levels. XD) And name every Shiny Basculin a silly name and trade them over Wonder Trade. It's all fun! Of course you can take breaks, like when your chain breaks and you feel like going Horde Hunting, or into the Friend Safari for a while, but don't give up fishing, because the Dratini will appear! Also, you can use Thief and steal some King's Rocks from the Poliwhirl and use them on the Shiny ones you might catch. I got at least 4. 83

I was watching the Doctor Who special while hunting on my Y and my sib's X... I was doing CF on my sib's X because I wanted Clauncher and going through FS on my Y for Kirila or Spritzee.

I've been doing some more Fletchling hatching while watching this horrible, depressingly bad football match (Man City vs Tottenham Hotspur - we're losing 3-0 at half time! ;__; Come on you Spurs, you can do it!!) and... I just hatched a shiny Fletchling after 256 eggs!
I'm happy to say that it has its hidden ability, gale wings... but it's also female, and I was hoping for a male one. So I'm going to continue hatching for a while longer to see if I can get a shiny male one (I've got nothing better to do while I watch the 2nd half of this match anyway...)

Well, Giratina has hit a rather high total of 19,860 SRs. It's getting a bit ridiculous now, but I will see it through! There's no other option really. Also, I began a hunt on Route 38 in HeartGold and SoulSilver, and I'm Magnet Pulling for a Magnemite. That is currently at 1,446 REs.

I'm at 660 MM for shiny Chespin.. and I don't even feel close. this is starting to get depressing. I put the MM on hold while I complete the Kalos Pokedex so i can get the oval charm. maybe that'll give me a tid bit more luck.

Don't give up on shiny Giratina even though I wish they never released an event one event shinies need to focus on shiny locked pokemon only because way back then before I could call myself a shiny hunter and I only had 2 shinies I got a shiny Giratina from just 2 soft reset because I wanted a modest one... Good luck to anyone trying and Congrats to anyone who succeeded.

To answer the question about quick hunts in the FS, well I was not really hunting but I found random shiny Mankey in less than 10 encounters while I was just looking for the third Pokémon.

After the first 240 eggs gave me nothing I filled up 9 more boxes (Yup, I did an extra one) for a total of 510 eggs. I was hatching them when this little guy appeared in my screen... I still have to hatch about 170 more eggs so I'll see if I get another one (I doubt it)
So this is my first shiny starter Pokémon ever, and he will be my first shiny in Pokémon Y that can Mega Evolve.
He is male, and he didn't get Solar Power (which doesn't really bothers me at all) and he has a Timid nature (thanks to the Everstone). I don't know about the exact IVs but he only got 31 IVs in Attack from his parents (lol). The reason why I didn't use the Destiny Knot was because his father has freaking 0 IVs in Speed, so I'm just glad that he didn't inherit that horrible stat. I asked my friend to give me another one of his spanish Charmeleon but he didn't have his 3DS at the time so I just kept using that horrible Charmeleon to get eggs 8D
I won't upload a video until I fully evolve and EV train him. I'll borrow a friend's Charizardite X so I'll show both of his Mega Evolved forms c:

Oh yes, I got that event Giratina but it doesn't feel as exciting as finding one by yourself so you shouldn't let those events bother you, cherish that shiny Giratina for ever c:

Yes a modest mischievous shiny abra with perfect special attack stat only downside is the ability inner focus I need synchronize oh well back to the battle maison

I just ran into a shiny Teddiursa while trying to catch as many Ditto's as possible.
It's Jolly, has Honey Gather as ability and it's IVs are X/X/0/X/31/31

2 Days ago, I decided to hunt in a Rock safari for Boldore/Rhydon, after a total of over 12 hours (started during the day, stopped at around 2 am lol) and 2 Shiny Rhydons..I went out to fix some stuff, got back in and BAM! first encounter is a shiny Boldore, she has Serious nature which is ok. 31 IV's in HP, Def + Speed and she's now a beautiful Gigalith thanks to the help from my boyfriend <3
Decided to go back and see if I could get another boldore, because hey...Shiny Gigalith is too darn epic, who doesn't want more of them? *__*
But I got my third Rhydon, so I've taken a pause from the safari and now went back to breeding a shiny Immunity Gligar
Not really a shiny find, but I'd just like to mention my shiny Blaziken, Hugo ★'s first battle. He acted wonderfully, surviving a +4 Shadow Sneak from an Aegislash and passing a Speed Boost to a Gliscor that managed to win the battle.
Also, I traded my shiny Tentacruel for a shiny Dragalge. Not sure if it's a smart move, seeing as Tentacool-Tentacruel are harder to find than fished Pokémon, but at least I get another shiny entry in my dex.
I do slightly feel like I'm doing something wrong but I know I'm doing it right. Hopefully I'm not the only one who felt that way the first time they did it...
