Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future

Hi all.
We had a couple of reports of people's signatures getting edited etc. in a bad way. You can rest assured this wasn't done by staff and nobody has compromised any of our databases.
However, remember to keep your passwords secure. If you use similar passwords to elsewhere which has been accessed, people and even bots may be able to access your account.
We always recommend using unique passwords, and two-factor authentication if you are able. Make sure you're as secure as possible
Last night I was hunting for pretty much anything. First I hunted in a Dark Safari. I was more hoping for Mightyena or Liepard. But instead I got a Shiny Cacturne! My Synchronize worked and it got Adamant which is pretty awesome. I won't keeping this one as I don't like Cacturne all that much.
Then I tried hunting again in a Rock Safari for Boldore or Pupitar but came up empty. I hope I get one them to shine soon and hope they get Adamant nature.
After no luck there, I decided to try horde hunting. I went to Connecting Cave, mainly hoping for an Axew. But I didn't even encounter any Axew hordes. I wasn't even hunting for very long when I found a Shiny Zubat! Now this one I just had to have! Well I caught him and promptly nicknamed him Dan after a Crobat from my old Sapphire save.
Zubat didn't get the Adamant nature but he did get Jolly! Which is pretty cool! I'll be EV training him soon.
No pictures this time as it was late at night and my sister had my Ipod.
Zubat I am pretty much happy with even if it wasn't Axew. Cacturne I'll probably trade for another shiny.
EDIT: Was EV training Zubat when I caught a Shiny Floatzel! Cool! 2 last night and 1 this morning!
Hiya everyone! Congratulations on all the new shiny Pokemon since I last posted!
So, after finally getting Gloomy after 1k eggs, I decided I would go for a Meditite! I noticed I seem to be lacking in the physical sweepers department in regards to my shiny collection. Also, I do one day hope to have all the Mega-Pokemon in shiny form, and Mega Medichamite is one of my all-time favorite designs.
I was lucky enough to get a 5IV Japanese Male Chimchar in a trade, so decided to use that as the father. During the chain breed process, getting Egg moves and the right nature etc, I was lucky enough to hatch a 6IV female Meditite after a few eggs, so that made for the perfect mother! Why did I not learn the ins and outs of IV breeding earlier? Anyway, I have not been able to spend as much time as I would have liked hunting for it over the last few weeks (Apparent hospital appointments and university assignments are more important!) but in the last few days I have been much more active in my hunt and, last night, after a new personal record of 1.2k eggs, Jennie hatched! (Yep, named after the main character of I Dream of Jennie!)
He was born with 31/31/31/xx/31/31 IVs! Which is great, as I was hatching quite a few which lacked a good attack IV...
Here he is as a Medicham!
And as Mega Medicham! As I said, one of my favorite designs and by far my favorite shiny Mega coloring. I have tested it out a few times in wi-fi battles, and he rocks!
That is not my only shiny story though. When I hunt, I do it outside the day-care center and occasionally, I end up go through the long grass (I am really bad at driving in games, even Pokemon). In the past I have found two shines on this route that way (Flabébé and Hoppip), and I got my third just 40 eggs before Meditite decided to shine...
Yep, another Flabébé. I wouldn't mind so much, but it is the same flower color too... Truth be told, I am not sure what to do with it. Part of me thinks I should trade it on, but then again I kinda think of every shiny that I find as wonderful gift, and I fear I would feel guilty giving it away. I don't know... what dose everyone else do with there spare shiny Pokemon?
Anyway. Now on to the big decision, what to hunt for next. I have a few ideas, but for the moment I will leave it hanging. My Box system, and even my Pokemon Bank, are in a mess thanks to the number of Gloomy and Meditite I now have. The best thing to do, I think, will be to go though some of them and see if I can trade any 5-6IV ones for future shiny breeders... this is going to take a while.

I decided to keep collecting more eggs for eevee, so this egg batch will be 180 eggs collected over 3 days
if all eggs fail, then I will be at 840 eggs for Eevee/Sylveon
I'm really excited for this shiny! I love the eeveelutions *-* and my favorite ones being Espeon, Umbreon, Sylveon (Top 3 but can't really say which one is #1) Vaporeon, Glaceon, Jolteon, Flareon, and Leafeon would be ordered after that in regards to shiny form (Glaceon /Jolteon switch spots and then they are my favorite order xD)
I have Umbreon, Vaporeon, and Espeon in shiny form already (although will be redoing espeon's shiny for since it was just a random one to begin with and it has lax nature and no IVs)
Also I have tons of 4-5iv dream ball eevee if anyone has other spare dream ball females they'd like to trade!
Been a bit busy over the past few days, managed to get around 200-250 Bulba eggs but am having no luck so far...
What I thought I might do instead of just hunt for Bulbasaur is do a load of different breeds, store the eggs and then mix them up! That way it's a bit more interesting for me and I can get a lot of Pokemon that I want to breed, shiny or otherwise. Might include Eevee (for Vaporeon), Absol, Venonat, Magikarp, see how it goes...
I have bred a few different pokemon before and done the same thing, I think I might do that again soon.....
on the topic of breeding, I got tired of skitty- i'll get back to hatching it when I get ruby so it can say that it's from hoenn... breeding cubones now, wish me luck
Well I hatched around 100 more Elekid eggs yesterday and just as I was about to give up, a Shiny Elekid hatched out of the last batch of eggs that I had stored in my PC. I didn't nickname it or anything; I just stored it for now. I'll just transfer it to Black version and then to Y version later on.
I got my first shiny today! I was leveling up some pokemon in victory road for dex entries and a shiny druddigon appeared The only pokemon I had that was of the same level was my salamence so I was afraid of him being one shot and I would lose my chances of a shiny so I through my master ball at him
So I was trying out my Masuda mix-up, but I kinda got fed up of sorting out new parents all the time, so only left it at about 75 eggs or so for a trial run. But after a failed few hundred eggs at Bulbasaur, it was always a matter of time before something shone...
Clauncher! I was worried about her IVs at first (31/31/?/31/31/31) but that question mark turned out to be a 29! So 31/31/29/31/31/31 for a set of IVs is pretty snazzy. Super pleased with it! ^_^
So after a long hiatus of shiny hunting, I decided to try and MM my favourite of any starter, considering my success with my Vulpix- Chimchar, with decent IVs, two Egg Moves and its Hidden Ability. I've cleared about 90 eggs so far in my hunt, and I hope it shines soon.
Uhh no luck getting a dark Wurmple on my Y yet. I got a second Wurmple on my X after hatching the rest of the batches of eggs from the first shiny.
So I decided to start on Poocheyna on my X version, nothing just yet but hoping to get one soon and finish up Wurmple on Y so I can start on Zigzagoon.
No hunts since I have been experimenting with competitive stats, but today I got my first two shinies through Wonder Trading. The first was a male Combee that was apparently rejected by multiple people, but I may as well keep it.
The other is more questionable in the fact that it is a shiny Swellow, but it also came from Unova, has Adamant, Guts, and Max IVs. This seems a little too generous for Wonder Trade. IDK what to make of it because if it were hacked I would have expected the hacker to have GTS'd the Swellow for something instead of just Wondertrading, I also know that some people give away Pokémon like this on livestreams so I don't know what to make of it.

ShiningKnight, I saw your post in the Hack-Check forum. OT Ash/ ID 01337 is a known hacker combo, and the hacks are pretty poor ones as well. Your Swellow's hacked, unfortunately. I'd release it. Never accept trades from anyone with an ID 01337; most of the time they're dumb kid hackers who use that ID because it spells "leet" and they think that's cool. I know you got your Swellow via WT so you couldn't know the OT/ID, but now you know for future reference.

I figured as much with the OT and ID number. Whoever traded it with me may have realized it was hacked and passed it on...either way I'm going to release this Swellow.

Hey, I'm once again trying to SR for a Shiny starter on HeartGold. To all of you who have successfully managed to SR for a Shiny starter in HG/SS, how many SR's on average did it take you guys to find a Shiny starter? I'm at 205 right now.
Truth be told, I am not sure what to do with it. Part of me thinks I should trade it on, but then again I kinda think of every shiny that I find as wonderful gift, and I fear I would feel guilty giving it away. I don't know... what dose everyone else do with there spare shiny Pokemon?
I’ve found 6 shiny Magbies so far, and I find Magby and its evolutions to be pretty unappealing, and I also don’t think it has a shiny form that’s anything really amazing (I mean, maybe if it turned purple or blue or something it’d be a bigger deal). But even so, I still have no inclinations to trade any of them, even extra ones that aren’t evolved. All 6 of them are part of my shiny hunting experience and are now part of my collection. But it all comes down to how you value them.

Well, yesterday was the day Nintendo Wi-Fi shut down (Actually, probably a few days ago by the time I post this). So I can’t use Pokecheck to check the IVs of any new shinies, which is a huge disappointment. I also can’t use it to see my EV spread, which apparently is necessary since I’ve somehow messed up so many of my pokemon on HG >.< And no more easy transporting from Gen 4 to Gen 5…
So this really sucks :|
Phew, some good news…Found out since I’m already able to download the save files to my computer, all I had to do was download Pokegen (like Pokecheck, I always assumed it’s something that’s ONLY for cheating), open a copy of a save file, pick a pokemon, save the .pkm file, and upload it to Pokecheck…And the better news is that it’s way easier to do than it was to go through the GTS before the Nintendo Wi-Fi was removed >_> So I’m quite pleased that I’ll still be able to see the IVs right away and be able to check my EV progress way easier than before
I’m sure some of you already knew about this, but I just found out so it’s kind of exciting

I got Giratina trained up to 100, then got all my Platinum shinies transferred over to X (again). I’ve actually now got 3 sets of them >_> One from lower levels, one with them at 100, and another with them at 100 that I’m switching some moves on and will put in the battle box/battle with. And I beat X, so yay! After having it since release morning…
And since then, I’ve been working on Watchog, Magnezone, and Magneton on my Black 2. Finished leveling up Watchog to 100 today. Magnezone is 93 and Magneton is 83, so they shouldn’t be too much longer.
I also bought a new Webcam, a Logitech C615 (my current one being the C525). I had $50 in Best Buy Gift Cards, $5 from the rewards program (having bought a TV and getting a 64 GB 3.0 USB), and it was on sale for $10 off, so it cost me $10 out of pocket after Tax. This one records video in 1080P instead of 720P like the 525 (doubt it’ll make a big difference though). Not sure how it will work out though (or if it will at all), trying to hunt on 3 systems with 2 webcams in the way…I know I’ve seen others hunt with two different cameras though, so it must be possible. But hopefully I’ll get everything to work out well and I can have better quality videos

Round 1 for torchic in Black 2 is over with no golden fire-chickens sighted. Can't say I'm surprised. Egg collection for round 2 will begin shortly.
In Y, I'm up to 300 torchic hatched, so 670 torchic between the two games. I will admit I'm half expecting it to shine in Y before Black 2, just because of the altered odds. If it shines in B2 first, though, I will be quite surprised.

Personal update: after I found that marvelous pumpkaboo (thank you all for the congratulations, especially lorde) I've started collecting Squirtle ' s eggs without realizing I still had 56 eggs of charmander from my previous hunt... After hatching those (with no other golden one) I collected a first batch worth of 60 tinyturtles I've hatched them with no luck again, but I'm sort of relieved... Relieved because I'm now hatching Squirtle even for competitive purposes, I so need few moves to pass through breeding and it would be nice to battle with a shiny one ^_^
With that in mind I caught a male clawitzer, trained him and I'll start soon to breed some more (by the way, the shiny shrimp is really awesome, thanks benys for the pic, it's on my shiny wish list thanks to you )

As for me I have........ dun da da da! Nothing to report (boo, hiss ) Im up to 1100 Pichu eggs and the little pika refuses to shine! Im hoping it doesn't hit 2000 but with the hatch rate Im sure itll go past fast.
I've added LopunnyBunny and Supremacy on the CH list.
Anyway......still no black Surskit yet. But then again, I'm only less than 200 eggs in. Still, hopefully it will shine before the end of the month, would be nice to be able to start a new month with a new hunt, especially if next month's CH is something I want to do xD
.....the only exception is if the next CH has Surskit, then hopefully Surskit won't shine until the start of next month, lol
