They most certainly do. Just keep an eye on the screen, with the volume up, and you'll be fine.

Started hunting Espurr last night, along side Druddigon. I do 200 REs, then go back to hatching a box of Druddigon, and then I rinse and repeat.

People may have overlooked my question, so I'll try and make it stand out this time...

Has anyone heard of there being a shiny lock now that hackers are diving deeper into the games coding?

Ok hello all. I have managed to get another shiny Remoraid after only 38 chain fishing. I was after my shiny clamperl again... but this time got a third remoraid. Oh well it is still a shiny and better than nothing which is what friend safari keeps giving me. I swear my game's friend safari is broken. Not one shiny and I must have clocked up a total of at least ten hours over the last week searching in there. Oh well 3DS is on charge so when it is finished I will maybe try get a shiny luvdisc and then continue trying to fill up the mountain dex.

Question about Chain fishing, I don't think anyone has asked this but can you switch rods while chain fishing or does that break the chain? I was thinking if I were fishing in an area with certain pokemon using good rod could I switch to super rod and still keep the chain or would I have to use the rod I start the chain with?

Congrats to all new shinies since my last post and good luck to all shiny hunters.

At around 450~ eggs or so now for my Shiny Adamant Pawniard. I'm breeding a Japanese pawniard with an outstanding IV'd Toxicroak. I'm hoping the stars align and I get me an outstanding shiny pawniard, ready to evolve into Bisharp with the egg move Sucker Punch. This is my first time MM'ing, so fingers crossed I'll get it sooner rather than later!

I just found a shiny Braixen in my kid's friend safari! it has its hidden ability too! She has Charmeleon, Braixen and Magmar in her safari and I have found two out of three at this point. Perfect special attack IV too!

Also, I think the thing I dislike most about the clearly increased odds is the complaining about what shinies are found. I have gone over 20,000 encounters in my white 2 with charm and would love whatever shone. Please people, they are still special. Enjoy the chase, enjoy the spoils, stop complaining.

Oh lol, I was levelling up some Pokémon for my PokéDex, and randomly a shiny Gothita appears. It's my 2nd one, and I hate it. I mean, is there anyone who actually likes this Pokémon at all, lol? Oh well, a shiny's a shiny...
Forgot to turn up the volume for the recording, and almost selected my Master Ball after I put my items in a different order (was so close to confirming it T__T):

does withdrawing my pokemon from the daycare break my musdua method?

Hi, I'm a dedicated reader of this forum but never posted anything so far. I got two questions on this Masuda Method tough (since the 6th gen game was so short and bank is not out yet, i decided to try this).

1) I always breed as much as I want and save and turn off the system? But is it wiser to get 2000+ eggs beforehand to have a better chance? or does it even matter?
2) I heard soft reseting is a way to keep my boxes empty ( I have 19 boxes full of Fennkin so far lol) . Do I have to save before the daycare guy turns around or just right before I talk to him to get the egg?

I hope you understand what I mean and I'm sorry if those are newbie questions but i just want to be sure. :)

Not really... i mean its not like chaining or anything like that.

Q1: Well honestly, you can't even store up 2000 eggs in these games, you can get to around 960 eggs this generation(32 boxes in this gen i believe). However, to be honest that's a pita when it comes to releasing. There's no actual benefit to doing that though, no increased chances or anything, so i don't think it matters.

Q2: Ideally save before he turns around. The first egg he offers you will always be the same(even if he doesn't have an egg when you save), so you'll need to reject the first egg he offers you.

EDIT:

Just added an Eevee Friend Safari... Time to grab some Shiny Eevee.... One for every Eeveelution(& an extra to keep as a Cute Cuddly Eevee)... I already have a bunch of Shiny Eevee from Pokeradar, but these Eevee will have nice IV's too. :D

I'll likely try and keep at this hunt till i have them all, as i think owners of an Eevee FS are likely to switch out a lot of their Friends, plus the Eeveelutions are so awesome, that i must have them asap.

EDIT#2:

Hi! :) I'm new to the forums..heh.

I have just a question about CF'ing...lets say I was CF'ing for a poliwhirl, and a basculin appeared..would that break the chain?

No it wouldn't. The key part about CF'ing is that you just keep reeling in pokemon with your fishing rods, it doesn't matter what pokemon it is though. :)

Wouldn't it be better to save when he's already got an egg, refuse the egg, then take the next one?

so far i have found 6 shiny pokemon from Pokemon Y, in order they are Avalugg(As a Bergmite), Dugtrio, Sigilyph, Dragonite(as a Dragonair), Bibarel, and Goodra(as a Sliggoo).

in no way am i bothered by the rate of shiny pokemon appearing. everyone still has a story behind how they found theirs, and it's special to them in it's own way. i'd only seen a shiny basculin in Black(other than the event legendaries, but they were freebies), which i didn't manage to catch, and not a single shiny in the wild on the 4th gen. before that, i'd found a decent amount of shiny pokemon on the 3rd gen games, and i'm waiting patiently to import them all to Y in december.

of shiny pokemon i am still hoping i can find, i would like to get lucky and get a shiny braixen or gothorita. though whatever shiny pokemon i get lucky enough to find, i will take what my game gives out, and do my best to capture them.

That won't break the chain. You just have to fish consecutively. If you move from the spot, don't get a nibble, or reel it in too fast or too slow, it'll break the chain. You don't even have to fight the Pokemon either. You can just encounter, then run.

@Andy, i would say once you reach a 100 chain, just break it on purpose. I don't believe for a second that the rate increases exponentially as you climb a higher chain for chain fishing, heck i might even say don't bother going above 20-30 in a chain fishing session, simply because i've seen so many shinies appear for people between 5-20 reel-ins that i don't think it makes sense to go higher.

I would definitely like to know more about this. I do indeed doubt that it increases exponentially but I figure it must just level out at a certain number, like 50 or something (I don't think it would make any sense for it to start going lower). So that would mean that breaking a chain would just put you back to regular rates, leaving you to slowly climb up to the max rate again, as opposed to leaving the chain at the max rate. However, as you ay, so many people have gotten them early on in chains....so yeah, I really want to know how this actually works. : /

Alright, thank you.
