Btw a little off topic but we are a little close-knit community so Im hoping you'll forgive me. Are any of you guys going to the French distribution of the pokeball Vivillon? If any of you are, is there any chance you can get me one? I am willing to offer a shiny as compensation (Im a Vivillon obsessive)

I love vivillon too! maybe that will be the next shiny I hunt? actualy I can never seem to stay focused on one, im trying to get a few right now, MM skity, RE bunelby, honedge, helioptile... I really want that helioptile and skitty! the skitty because on ruby when I was little I(well my brother) got a shiny skitty(fake,black cartridge and stopped saving before I even got diamond ....) and helioptile because it looks cool...

My Masuda hunt for Vulpix hasn't gone well so far, so today I decided to go shiny hunting in White 2's Reversal Mountain with the shiny charm. After four hours, a shiny male Skarmory appeared - just what I was looking for!

I'm now at 4,650 for Cranidos - I dont want to have to pause this hunt for my BQ! It's actually moderately enjoyable to do - much better than hatching eggs.
I'm also conflicted as to whether to try and SR Turtwig for my first BQ pokemon or do encounters. I want Turtwig more than any of the other pokemon that can be encountered on early routes, but the long SRs and the fact I've just done a SR hunt..... I haven't even started this BQ yet I'm conflicted!

Hey everyone! Congratulations on all the shinies since my last post. Unfortunately I haven't really had the time to shiny hunt recently. Still currently at 5.5k for my Torchic SR and I haven't really been focusing on my other hunts. I hope that anyone hunting for a Hoenn shiny starter (In dedication to ORAS) gets their shiny soon. Seeing someone getting something I'm hunting for really motivates me and I could really use that right about now. Keep up the good work!

Good luck with your hunt! As for your question, that would really depend. Here are all my successful HG/SS Shiny Starter SRs:

SR # 36: Shiny Totodile (Sassy)
Phase 1 - SR # 3,310: Shiny Chikorita (Serious)
Phase 2 - SR # 5,178: Shiny Chikorita (Quirky)
Phase 3 - SR # 5,184: Shiny Chikorita (Timid)
SR # 152: Shiny Chikorita (Serious)
SR # 2,744: Shiny Totodile (Docile)

Chikorita(s) and Totodile(s) seem to love me. I swear, one of these days I'm going to SR a Shiny Cyndaquil if it kills me! Within the last few pages, I find it funny that so many people in the community are getting Shiny Cyndaquil starters. Motivates me even more to get back to my HG/SS SR hunt.

I got my first in 10, second in about 100-200 and third in about 4000-5000. I never counted the last two exactly though, sorry ^^
I'm currently on my fourth, looking for the only one I'm missing (Totodile) and of course I'm not counting again... Probably between 300-500 so far though. I've been going at it all night and a lot of today, since I haven't been busy lately~

I believe I got my shiny Cyndaquil somewhere around 500-600 resets. It's pretty neat if you're okay with getting any of them since you can check whether any of them are shiny in HGSS before even selecting it! I wish they did that in all the newer games...

I've improved on my Shiny Elekid hunt; I hatched 30 more eggs this morning plus some more last night, so I've crossed the 300 eggs hatched threshold and I've collected more eggs from the Day Care in Solaceon Town that I'll work on hatching later today.

Chikorita was about 400-500

Hatched 60 eggs for gligar right now, and was wondering: How do you guys do MM hunts? Like stack up 20 boxes first or just hatch them on the spot?

My Cyndaquil took about 400-500, as well. I can't really remember.

Also, when I MM, I hatch them on the spot, then release them. Much easier that way, and I don't get lazy down the track.

Normally I pack 5 box of eggs, then go to Lumiose, and release each hatcthed batch right now, except when I intend to trow them in wondertrade.

For the moment, no special news, no purple Feebas yet.

BUT!

I was horde hunting a wishmur because I was hesitating if this one should make a come back for my 10th anniversary team for Omega Ruby and a shiny appeared and no ordinary one no... 10 years ago my Whismur (Exploud) was a calm female. This one is also a calm female with soundproof! Wow, just wow.

Second Cyndaquil was around 2,500

If it's a pokemon with a high step count, then I stack up like 5 boxes (my max amount) but if its something low or average then I just hatch on the spot.



Made it to 3,060 SR's for Zapdos yesterday, but final exams are coming up at college so I might not be able to hunt it as "frequently" as I have been. But nevertheless, the hunt is still exciting and I am not bored of it yet (thank goodness SR is my favorite method).

It took me around an hour (don't know exactly how many soft resets). I just got really lucky

I hatch them on the spot. I grab five eggs from the day care man with flame body Talonflame in my party, use hatching o-power 3, and use my bicycle between route 7 and route 5.

I hatched my first intentional shiny today! Hatched a 5IV Vulpix. Irony of all ironies, its missing stat was in Sp. Atk. Oh well, it will still look pretty!
EDIT: Forgot to mention it only took 116 eggs!
EDIT x2: About 30 minutes after hatching the Vulpix, I caught a shiny Panpour in the FS. Hoping to get a shiny Frogadier. I'll let everyone know if it happens!

I gather 4 box full(120total) and 5 to fly to Lumoise with and hatch 125 at a time :3

Haven't got around to hatching the 150 Wurmple eggs I've collected, so for Wurmple I'm still at 350 hatched.


But while on ArdhiS' Safari, this one shows up

It will be just a trophy, due to having Careful (-SAtk) Nature, and 31 IV in Attack but 0 IV in Speed ._.

But still, it's nice that I finally have a Shiny Sigilyph, I've always wanted one since B/W era, I love the "neon" colors.

They sprite will appear shiny while scrolling over the pokeballs.

You don't have to select the pokeball, just scrolling through them will suffice.

First off, congrats to anyone on their shinies and good luck to anyone still hunting!

I am now up to 960 eggs hatched for my shiny Tyrunt! This is my third (using MM) and also my longest hunt. I so can't wait for Tyrunt to shine. From my last post, I changed the parents to two Tyrunts (other parents were Tyrantrums). Though sometimes I am losing hope in it but I really don't want to give up. Been doing this everyday since like Wednesday or Thursday of last week too. And lately I'm having a shiny drought, haven't got a new shiny since November. (though started hunting again this month or last month)

Also my sister just hatched a Shiny Charmander in just 91 eggs! Now we will both have a shiny Charizard and we both got them in under 100 eggs! We also both have shiny Greninja. Both were also our 1st and 2nd hunts.
