I've been doing a decent amount of hunting this afternoon, for my own standards anyways xP I got to 662 RE's in route 3 (slow as its a side hunt) and 4082 SRs for tepig. Taking a break now to get my shinies up some levels =3 Burmy evolved into Wormadam, and I actually quite like it.. the difference is a lot more clear in gen 6 than it was in the previous generations! Planning to do some more hunting later tonight, but for now, training it is =3

Combee was in the honey tree today, and I got 130SRs before the tree lost it's honey (had to sleep and go to school in between slathering it, so I only got around 2 hours ;-. I also did a few more encounters on my BQ, so I'm now up to 350 REs on that.

Thanks for the congratulations on the shiny Pokémon I found a couple of days ago! Congratulations to everyone who have found shinies recently, it's very motivating to read about.

Well, even though I have spent much time looking for shinies the past two days, my hunt on Unova's Route 7 hasn't resulted in a new shiny so far. However, earlier this evening I decided to hunt in the Friend Safari for a while, and after a couple of hours a shiny male Onix appeared! It's shiny form is more green-like than I thought, at least in-game. I always imagined it to be more golden, but it looks great anyway.

I didn't catch the Shiny Bunnelby myself, but thanks anyway. I hatched another 40 Minccino eggs today for my Shiny hunt and I traded a few of the Minccino since I had no use for them. I'm off tomorrow, so I'm hoping to hatch at least 70 eggs to meet my personal weekly quota.

so just now I was collecting eggs, and collected a party full. I offered my brother to RE pokemon on his game as I collected eggs if he brought over his DS but he didn't want to, so I decided to hatch the party of eggs while RE'ing on rout 7 and after less than 10 random encounters SHINY CROAGUNK. even though I wanted illuminise I am MORE than happy with him he's adorable. i'm gonna continue collecting eggs and hatch them tomorrow.

I'm sorry to hear about the recent lost shinies, but it sort of gives an incentive to reclaim them! I hope you guys do! Also thanks to everyone who is encouraging me to continue my burmy hunt. I'm at 13,173 SR's now and still nothing, but I know I'll get it soon! It's kind of nice to train some pokemon up to be able to fight Lugia just to do something different haha!

I understood the characteristics, including sex, were determined when the egg was received from the Day Care Man.

Oh, man, that sucks. That sort of thing is exactly why I've taken the precautions I've taken on my current hunt. See, I'm horde hunting on Route 18, which yields, in order from most common to rarest, Geodude hordes, Durant hordes, and hordes containing 4 Durant and 1 Heatmor. Naturally, there's plenty of risk involved there, whether it's a Shiny Geodude being taken out by its allies' Magnitude attacks, or a Shiny Heatmor getting ganged up on by four Durant. Which is why I've taken precautions- at the lead of my team is a level 70 Beheeyem. Ability is Telepathy, and he knows Skill Swap. Use Skill Swap on the Shiny, and just like that, no damage taken from allies. That means a Shiny Geodude would be protected from its allies' Magnitude, and a Shiny Heatmor wouldn't be affected by those pesky Durant, allowing you to pick off the non-Shinies at your leisure. I highly recommend this tactic for anyone wanting to hunt on this route, or Route 8, for that matter, due to the all-too-real risk of Shiny Seviper/Zangoose (never experienced that myself, but I've certainly heard all the stories, and while there are some rare successes, it's usually not with a happy ending).

I lead with a gothorita that knows Telekinesis. But at the moment I'm not hunting route 18; I was going to save that till I can either transfer up my latios (which knows Telekinesis and Earthquake) or score myself a pokemon that has Telepathy.

My first run for houndour in Black 2 came up empty, and I'm already collecting eggs for the next round. Am expecting this to be a fairly long hunt considering the run of short hunts I've had lately.

In Y, egg 530 yielded a second shiny espurr. Unfortunately it was not the male I wanted. The shiny was female, rash natured, with IVs in HP, DEF, SpDEF, and SPD, and had her HA. I did not need another female so I traded her to a friend of mine, who badly wanted a female shiny espurr with HA for competitive use (and as I understand it a rash nature is not bad for a competitive meowstic). I got a shiny mudkip in exchange ^_^

My Route 20 horde hunt has reached 2,100 hordes without a shiny. Am really hoping for trevenant but completely expecting a foongus >.<

Anywho, some news on the shiny front! I just found and caught a Shiny Tyrogue in the FS. Took 706 encounters. Definitely one of the shinies I was hoping for in the safari. I will get a video up ASAP, as well as updating my sig. However, back to the FS I go to win this First-To-Ten race I'm doing with a mate of mine. The score is now 3-8 (me-him). Wish me luck!

My Petaya berries are still at the seedling stage so I need to wait a bit longer. I've postponed my hunt for my second Scyther as I'm really not fussed by his shiny form and my boyfriend will evolve the other one into a Scizor, so he doesn't need Speed. That's one down.

So whilst trying to find inspiration for my next MM shiny I thought I'd try and get all shinies of a single type (Ghost), then I remembered I love Chandelure! So I'm currently breeding my Battle Maison Chandelure to get a shiny Litwick and hopefully keep its ball.

Speaking of Pokéballs, has anyone experienced their ball pattern disappearing in X/Y? My Ditto is in a Pokéball and sometimes the ball of the other parent passes down and sometimes it doesn't. I can't work it out, and I really want to have Litwick on a Dusk Ball and others in Dream Balls later.

It's because only female pass the ball, not because of the Ditto.

If a female is bred with a Ditto, the female would pass the ball.

This is some sort of joke, right? I was going to EV train my 5IV Bagon in Route 19, but there was rain in there, so I went to Winding woods instead. And quess what: second shiny Foongus! I haven't cheked it yet, but still! I might put pictures about them, later.

Congrats to everyone on their new shinies

Been awhile since I did shiny hunting, my last shiny was my horde Stunky. I decided to go back to my perfect shiny Zorua MM since not finishing this hunt has been bothering me for awhile. I was at 630 eggs when I put it on hold and I'm up to 720 eggs now. Hoping the next shiny I get has the IVs I want as I've already hatched 3 with bad IVs.

I don't think I'll bother with this month's CH since I don't have the patience to SR for shinies. I'll probably try MM for a shiny Volbeat after I get my Zorua and a shiny Eevee. I've always wanted one of my own ever since I found one in the Battle Factory in Emerald.

Betweem exams I've hatched quite few eggs of my beloved caterpie and yestarday, after I went a little over the odds (almost six undred) a find a golden one!! She really made my day (and I really needed it)

I like her so much I don't think I'll train her at all to become a fully grown butterfree...since I'm trying to fill the kanto's shiny dex this means I need another little bug to get metapod and butterfree too, but I don't mind, I really want to keep this one unevolved...I guess I'll be looking for caterpie once again

I ended up doing quite some hours of hunting yesterday (yay!), but progress seems so slow with b2/w2 starter SRs! I got quite some done though! 624! Took me over 7 hours of non-stop soft resetting though, just to give you an overview of how slow these darn things go xD Still though, every 100 feels like a big step forwards, and that is keeping me going. Total is at 4464 now, and I'm not expecting anything to shine yet, so I just keep focussing on every 100 I do, since they feel like mini-goals so I can keep my motivation up. ^^ I really want this thing to shine and start my badgequest, and I feel like i'll get it at around 7-8 SRs, so we'll see! =]
For my sidehunt, I got to 1271 RE's yesterday, which is almost 1k RE's done during the day. Its not a whole lot I feel, but it definately helps!! Im thinking something will shine for me at around 3k there, so I'll have a ways to go. I was going to do more yesterday, but i kept running into female Burmy so I took a break from that to hatch some Eevee eggs, which i still have 8 boxes stored of, I normally hatch those during TV time, but I really didnt want to risk another female burmy to shine.

So I was only able to about to do around 500 RE yesturday but now that I'm no longer training for my pokedex I can run away instead of fighting them so hopefully today I can make a lot more progress towards being able to complete the first leg of my Y BQ, It will be also the first pokemon I would get that I actually hunted I hope this critter shines soon. Even more news from the shiny front! The race with my friend is still going on, and I just found my 4th shiny: Galvantula! Incredibly happy with this find. Never thought I would like it's shiny colors, but I was wrong. So the race is now 4-8 (Beautifly/Beautifly/Tyrogue/Galvantula - Metang/Dedenne/Dedenne/Manectric/Lampent/Phantump/Diggersby/Spiritomb). I'm hoping to catch up to him by the end of the day. Definitely going to be dedicating a lot of time to finding the last 6 shinies I need to win this race!

Also, if anyone would care to help me out in the race, I posted a while ago in the FS trade thread (check my profile). Would greatly appreciate it if anyone had any of the Pokémon I am looking for.
