Hello. Congrats to everyone who got their desired shinies.

I'm not an avid shiny hunter but sometimes I get into the mood.
On the 1st of August, I got a Shiny Carvanha through chain fishing. I really like the vibrant colors on it.

And two days ago when I was trying to breed for a competitive Larvitar, this popped up:

I was lucky that I got a Shiny in the first batch of eggs I was hatching, but sadly that's also the reason the Larvitar only has 2 max IVs and the wrong nature.^^

And then, later on the same day when I was horde EV training some competitive Pokemon I bred, in HP, this Whismur found me.

My Shiny hunting has come to fruition even though it took like 4k+ SR's this time.... am sure its my longest ever SR hunt on HG/SS for a Shiny Starter... and unfortunately, painfully it's another Shiny Chikorita and as such it has already been transferred to my JP SS Game & i am once again beginning the task of SR'ing for a Shiny Totodile or Shiny Cyndaquil.

The latter being my main target, but either is fine for me to speed run through HG... as i found out rather quickly that Shiny Chikorita cannot do this(i got spanked by Bugsy & his U-Turn).

First I'd like to thank Crimson Penguin on the good luck.

I have some shiny news. I've gotten a shiny Snivy in OR in 1458 MMs and I dexnaved a shiny Buneary on the same game. Yesterday I got very lucky reclaiming eon ticket Latios in an estimated 5400 RAs in AS, so BQ #5 complete and that night I got the pleasant surprise in SS in the form of shiny Groudon in 338 SRs.

In AS I'm now Dexnaving for shiny Kecleon and SRing for Kyogre in HG.(I would have done some alternating between SS and HG, but I don't need to worry about that now.)

Congrats to the recent shinies and good luck to all ongoing hunts.

Edit: I just looked it up and both Latios and Groudon count for the CH, so Community Hunt Complete X2 .

Grats on all the recent shinies! I've been hunting on and off for a while since I last posted, but I just Dexnaved a shiny Pidgeotto in the Safari Zone! She has an impish nature caught in an ultra ball and just evolved into a Pidgeot! Since she is dex number 18 I think that means community hunt complete! (Man its been a while since I've last said that...) Anyway good luck to all those hunting!

After 949 REs, I find a shiny panpour. He's calm and capable of taking hits, with his HA, Torrent. I named him after the Roman god of wells and springs. Gonna evolve him, then go back to my mareep MM.

Regigigas is at 5,000 SRs. Mareep is at 330 eggs.

Is adamant a good nature for mamoswine? Once I get mareep it'll be my next MM.

She's modest and alert to sounds, with Static. Once she's trained and evolved she'll be an awesome mega ampharos ^^

Next up: swinub.

After a mere 45 eggs, a green swinub surprises me. I was breeding a HA female, but the shiny got Oblivious instead of Thick Fat. Meh. She's naive and likes to thrash about. I'll train her and evolve her, then move on. Next MM will be gastly; I have a 6IV timid moon ball female to breed shiny. Will be evolving the shiny to a haunter and leaving it there since I already have the shiny event gengar.

Edit #3: And while training my shiny swinub in speed, I find a shiny floatzel. That's four shinies in the span of about 8 hours. Crazy luck for me... He's lax and alert to sounds, with Swift Swim. About to send him into wonder trade.

Nice panpour and for comp wise for mamo depends if your doing vgc or ou singles. Adamant is good for doubles but jolly would be better for singles which naive is a good nature too hope that helps and good luck with the rest of your hunts.

So I continued on my Swablu/Altaria hunt on my Y since I have time for it, I have the Shiny Charm on it but no luck today. I hunted the Swablu in hordes and used a Roserade for Sweet Scent.

Another Day... Another Shiny Post

I wish that smile could last through the entire post haha, but alas it disappears almost right away.

So my Shiny Hunt on Route 4 in Kalos has paid off again.... with the exact same result as Phase 1, Shiny Budew #2.... Why???!!!! lol

I decided at this stage to take a break and check out a Friend Safari to get my Female Shiny Combee, Cute Charm Lead of course, same as on Route 4. I had a FS with Pinsir and Beautifly as well as Combee, so thought that was an ace place as any of those would be great.

It took around 400-450 RE's and then it appears.... Shiny Combee!!!!!! MALE.... Nooooo!!!!! Why????!!!!

So, am i pleased.... heck yeah i am pleased... Two shinies in a day is ace, so i am ecstatic about that. It's just annoying to get a duplicate Budew when it has a 10% Rate on that Route & ofc we all know why the Male Combee is annoying.

However i shall eventually have that Female Shiny Combee and the eventual Shiny Vespiquen it evolves into.

For now, i shall remove myself to Route 10 where there is a veritable smorgasbord of Pokemon to whit i would love to obtain in their Shiny Form. I am also continuing my quest for a Shiny Starter in Heart Gold, which i have now decided i shall accept whatever it gives me, if that means another Shiny Chikorita, then so be it, i shall just need to quickly grind out a flying type to destroy the 2nd Gym.

Once again I come bearing shiny news! Actually double shiny news. Okay so first I ended up having to come home early from work (I'm not in trouble, it's just a slow day today) and had dinner and watched some video's on YouTube. I was also working on my Badge Quest in Soul Silver and messing with the DexNav in Alpha Sapphire. I've been alternating between Route 48 and the Bug Catching Contest. Well today is Saturday so that means the Bug Catching Contest is on! Soon after I had finished with the video I was watching I saw something green scroll across the screen...

A beautiful green colored cocoon appeared! Unfortunately Cascoon is one of the two things I didn't want to shine as I already have two Wurmples from Emerald that evolve fully into Dsutox. However, this now means that I've completed one branch of Wurmple's evolutionary family (Wurmple, Cascoon and Dustox). So I threw a few Sport balls at him and not bothering to lower his HP or put him to sleep. Eventually after four or five balls he was caught! As soon as the battle ended judging began for the Bug Catching contest. We came in second and lost to a... Cascoon... oh well, I have the real prize, a shiny! He has surprisingly okay IVs of 26-27/15/23/12-14/11/28 considering I was expecting much worse. More pictures: Summery and OT/ID, Overworld, Sparkles and Video. Now I can finally move on in my Soul Silver Badge Quest. First I have to nickname this Dustox and Battle Sabrina then I can figure out what my next target should be. I'm considering using Headbutt on trees in Azalea or random encountering on Route 45 or continuing random encountering on Route 48.

And now for my second bit of shiny news. As I said I was messing around with the DexNav in Alpha Sapphire. Well I was going for Poochyena as revenge for all of those uncatchable shiny Poochyena's from back when I SRed Mudkip and Torchic and Treecko on my original Sapphire many years ago. I've been wanting to hunt Poochyena for a while actually and have never gotten around to it along with many other shinies that I still want. So while I was working on uploading the video of Cascoon I was still playing around with the DexNav and got into a battle with a Poochyena. I wasn't looking at the screen but when I heard it's cry I heard the distinct sound of gen six sparkles...

and saw this little booger on my screen. She appeared after 79-80 encounters using the DexNav. I haven't caught her yet as that will unfortunately cause her video to be fused with Cascoon's when I copy it to my computer and I'll have to separate them and I don't have time to do that since I have work in the morning. The only way to prevent this is to wait a few hours before recording again. I have no idea why my camcorder does this but it does, unfortunately. So I'll either update my post later when I catch her or wait until tomorrow to post about her in more detail. As for DexNav chaining, has anyone gotten concrete proof that the DexNav actually does anything to affect the shiny rate? because I honestly feel that it's just the normal gen six odds at work and your just getting whatever shiny your hunting because, that's what's being forced to appear or what appears due to the DexNav randomly activating, plus how many encounters you're doing for said Pokemon, if that makes sense? I'm terrible at explaining things. It's just that it's not like the Pokeradar where at a chain of 40 you have a 1 in 200 chance of a shiny showing up of the Pokemon that your chaining. I dunno, It just doesn't feel like the DexNav is actually causing shinies to appear but that's just me.

On day 4 of SR for Dialga, and nothing yet. Finding this hunt particularly tedious as its not a matter of simply mashing 'A', but having to go through the stupid eon flute scene every single time. That's probably why I've put off this hunt until now. It will all be worth it when it eventually appears

Here’s the video of my shiny Durant.

Still have to finish leveling Durant up. EV trained her and she’s been Lv. 93 since Friday morning, but I haven’t had enough time to finish since I wanted to leave time to hunt those several hundred REs. Hoping to finish it tonight or tomorrow morning!

Was able to do 400 REs each on both Friday and Saturday, so Black 2 is at 1,100 REs, Platinum is at 12,400 REs, and HeartGold is at 5,400 REs. I’ll be working for the next 12 hours, but hopefully I’ll still have time to do some hunting when I get home tonight

My drought is over! I just caught a shiny Aron after 6662 REs in Omega Ruby!

I was watching some shiny hunting videos on Youtube to keep me motivated and hopefully bring me some luck, but I didn't expect it to actually pay off - until I looked down during one of the videos and saw an Aron with red eyes instead of blue! The capture was a little scary, though. I was using a Mean Look Watchog traded from my X version in case of a shiny Abra, and I thought I had successfully tested out that plan a couple of times, but when I went to put Aron to sleep with Hypnosis, Watchog didn't listen to me! Apparently, level 39 is a bit too high for this point in the game, so I ended up having to switch to my Beautifly to paralyze Aron instead. I caught it after only three Pokeballs, but that was a close shave - if the shiny had been Abra, I would have been screwed. Anyway, Aron was named Titanium, and he has a Hardy nature (continuing the trend of neutral natures on this file) with the Rock Head ability. He's surprisingly cute in Amie and I can't wait to train him up!

Next up is Route 114 for BQ #4. My primary target here is Swablu, because it is a gorgeous shiny and I've always liked Altaria. I wouldn't mind a Zangoose, though, and while I have a Nuzleaf already, it would be kind of neat to get another one, as it was my first ever shiny and it would be kind of like having my shiny hunting come full circle. If that makes sense. XD As for my other hunts, Lugia is at 3000 SRs, Bulbasaur is at 3300 SRs, Castelia Park is at 3000 REs, and Deino is over the MM + Shiny Charm odds now at 600 eggs. I'm hoping Aron helps me get some of my shiny luck back. : D

As you can see, this one is male, unlike the initial female, and this one has IVs: 31 / 31 / 31 / 4 / 31 / 31. This one also is Bold and Rain Dish.

I spent most of the week horde hunting for a Scyther on both X & Y with no luck. I did manage to catch 8 Spinda and 3 Swablu though. I also managed to catch a Suicune & 2 Magnemites on my OR game.
