Congrats to everyone who's gotten a new shiny since my last post! I return once again with sparkles. Last night, while watching "The Fox And The Hound", I* decided to take a break from SRing for Totodile in VC Crystal and work on my Sableye hunt within the Friend Safari in Y Version. After a little while I looked at my 3DS screen and saw this little dude staring back at me...

He is lucky to have a Naughty nature, which is very fitting, plus he is blessed with flawless Attack and Speed. I'm still going to hunt here until I get a golden Sableye.

Sandile isn't the only shiny to... well shine since my last post. I have also obtained more shinies in Pokémon Go.

Since I already have both a shiny Swablu (now an Altaria) and shiny Dratini in my core games, maybe I'll go after a shiny Mawile after Sableye. Good luck to everyone, especially those with stubborn targets. Oh yeah, A real life shiny was spotted recently.

Alright, I managed to have some success with swap breeding! I got the shiny Magikarp after 14 eggs but I've run into a problem. I was hoping the Rowlet would hatch with it's HA but it just keeps hatching with Overgrow. I've gone through the cycle of 14 Rowlets a bunch of times and each time it has Overgrow. Was I wrong in assuming it'd have a chance at it's HA each time I collect it? Or is the ability already determined like the shininess?

Since I last posted, I've hatched a few shinies on Crystal like Eevee and Abra. I tried to hatch a shiny Geodude but it wouldn't shine so I gave up and decided on Zubat as my next shiny. In Ultra Sun, I am trying to breed a shiny HA Rowlet but am having no luck so far. I've been trying for a shiny Rowlet for some time and am just having no luck.

And I know it'd be faster but I don't like the Swap breeding method because I have a habit of saving all the time so I always mess it up. Also I got a shiny Korean Ditto with 6IVs and Pokerus from Wonder Trade awhile back. It's clearly hacked but would it have any negative effect on my Pokemon it would potentially breed with?

no it will not harm the offspring of being illegal you are fine as long as the offspring doesn't have illegal moves learn or ability or ball choice you should be fine with the hack 6iv ditto for breeding...

also took a break from my wonderful zapdos hunt since my 2ds died accidentally while i was keeping it on while sring -_- yeah i know i don't have to leave it on but I normally do when i mm or sr but i will be getting back to my hunt 800 srs and gunna start my game back up and start again with charm....

First time posting to this thread, but had to share something cool!!
Recently bred my first 6 I.V. shiny, a Trapinch (now level 100 Flygon), a girlie, with jolly nature and in the premier ball (I love the premier ball!!)...
Was trying to breed for a 6 I.V. (non shiny) Oshawott for my girlfriends eldest daughter (who recently found out I play pokemon) and in the process of that got a 4 I.V. Shiny HA Oshawott, so that was just tonight, and that was cool!! Couple of boxes of eggs later I got her the 6 I.V. HA non-shiny, so it was a win-win night!!!

Thanks for letting me share, congrats to all you shiny hunters out there!! I look forward to reading this thread much more!!

I'm swapping for a shiny magby because I want the shinydex entry when it hatches and not the dex entry for a regular one, because I'm picky and more than a little insane. Also swapping for a shiny gible depending on whether the shiny 'karp that eventually hatches has its HA or not. Though I may also switch in that HA incineroar I got from the bank thing.

Just an FYI, dunno if you know or not, but at least in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon I noticed you can swap out what sprite is shown in the pokedex by going into the variants portion and switching to the one you want... I've switched out all the ones I have shinies of, and most of the Alolan ones for the regular versions, except for Sandslash and Ninetales, as I prefer the Alolan forms of those two!!

The ability is determined just like the shininess. Are you breeding with a HA magikarp? Does the one after the shiny one have its HA? If it does, try rejecting the shiny egg and taking the next one. The shiny value will be passed from the rejected egg to the next egg, but if that 'karp also has its HA then you'll get a shiny HA 'karp. Or the shiny HA rowlet. If you keep SRing the same shiny egg you're just going to keep getting Overgrow.

I do know. I'm just one of those lunatics who likes seeing the original dex entry be shiny.

I caught a shiny lapras in an ice safari in Y today. Decided to hunt there while waiting for a storm to pass and hoping the power wouldn't go out. Was not counting REs. I was cute charming for a female snorunt, so lapras is female, modest nature, with Hydration and holding a mystic water. I'll transfer her to US later.

I had a couple of shiny hunts end yesterday. After 3,000+ REs on Crystal I have the right Mirage Cave show up on Omega Ruby so I set to hunting there. After about 300 encounters, shiny Unown U showed up!

On Ultra Sun I was MM hunting for a shiny Intimidate Litten. It shined after 115 eggs!

Celebi is taking forever. I wish I had more time to SR everyday, because I'm only at 1700 after just over 2 weeks. I downloaded Crystal on my old 3DS and am working through the story as quickly as possible so I can double hunt Celebi.
I've also been focusing on my FR Charmander hunt. I restarted LG so I can double hunt Charmander as well.

I'm almost done getting the available legendaries in the Wormholes in UltraSun, with only Ho-oh left to go (apart from legendaries that need other pokemon in the party). In the meantime, I got a couple of more shinies this week, both repeats: a swanna and a floatzel. I'm still hoping for a female yanmega.

Absolutely perfect in terms of what I wanted IV-wise: 31 / 13, 14 / 31 / 26, 27 / 31 / 26, 27. Adamant Sync worked too! Had to Beast Ball it though. Tried Premier Balls but it kept breaking out and slowly killing itself from Thrash confusion.

I'm unfamiliar with natures. How come HA Litten having Adamant is a good nature?

It's his highest stat, so that makes it beneficial if it receives a boost in this stat.
This logic doesnt always count for every pokemon though, but for him it does.

Shiny Chikorita in Heart Gold today. It's my 3rd Chikorita since I started trying to get all 3; Totodile continues to evade me. This Chikorita is a hasty male. I named him Feallan, after the Old English form of Fall. I'm not sure if I want to play through the game with it or trade it to Platinum and continue trying for Totodile. I'm leaning toward trading. I just restarted HG on Sunday so I could dual hunt with SS, so this was a quick hunt in a way.

I also hatched a shiny Odd Egg Pichu in Crystal Saturday morning. I'm playing through a second copy of Crystal to dual hunt Celebi, which is now at 1900 SRs.

I'm up to 1,800 magikarps now. If the shiny hatches without its HA, I'll switch it for magmar... If it has its HA then I'll put in incineroar or buneary (I have a HA one in a love ball from WT).

Was trading some breejects on WT to get my festival coins from the failed global mission and some traded me a shiny tyranitar. From Sinnoh, apparently, lvl 100, lonely nature, no max IVs. None better than "decent", actually. Into my shiny box it goes, though I will eventually breed a better one of my own.

I was trying to get a Mareanie with a certain ability and nature combination for my Sun playthrough and, having got a German Ditto and Japanese Mareanie through GTS, I decided to start breeding until I got what I wanted. I also figured, seeing as it's Masuda Method (and still is, after swapping the Japanese Mareanie for one I hatched with the right nature and Merciless), that I'd do it as a shiny hunt. So far I've hatched 27 eggs with no shiny, and I'm going to keep at it in between actually playing through the game for the first time (I probably won't do any more until Friday to focus on playing through, but I'm happy with my progress so far).

EDIT: Actually going to just focus on the hunt for now to get it done and, if the shiny has Merciless, add it to my team instead of the regular Merciless Mareanie I've currently added. Then, once that's done, I'm going to restart that Hawlucha hunt of mine that I had going before I left the game. I hatched around 400 eggs that time with no luck, and I'll be adding that on to my final total for when one eventually does shine (fortunately, since I only have Sun at the moment, I got one over Wonder Trade that I can use alongside Ditto, to make my life easier).

EDIT: Anyone got any good ideas of a nickname for when Mareanie shines? I'm struggling for any inspiration on that front at the moment.

EDIT: 220 eggs hatched now, with no shiny yet. Planning to take a break and go back to playing through the game if one doesn't shine after 500 eggs, and then pick the hunt up again later on.

EDIT: Decided to take a break upon reaching 300, as I just want to actually play through the game at the moment. When I do go back to the hunt, I'll use the Magikarp Swap Method to speed things up.

You can run from both to continue the post game stuff, then return to hunt both shiny if you wish.

Currently approaching 4k REs on Route 44 in Gold.

The other day I was hatching Tynamos and out popped one with a red stripe. At first I didn't notice the minor difference until after I exited the nickname screen and then I was like "wait... what?!" However, since I have a box of 5IV mons I'd much rather have shinies of, and the shiny Tynamo was on the 3rd egg, I reset and swapped it out for a shiny Luxury Ball Litwick I've been wanting forever. Modest, xx/31/31/31/31/31, male, and nicknamed Cider

Then, the next day, I was putting egg moves on a Duskull and a random red one hatched. It wasn't everstoned and got a Jolly nature, which isn't the worst, though it doesn't benefit from it so I guess it'll just be a trophy shiny. I couldn't swap it since I wasn't using my italian 6IV Ditto as the other parent. Still looks awesome though.
