Some of these have been posted in the Gameplay thread, but I felt this was worthy enough for its own sticky. Plus it's fun to make up moves and stuff.
One request: Keep them realistic. The idea of this thread is for moves/abilities that we might actually see in the games, not for intentionally ridiculous ones.
To start, an idea I've had for some time, and I'm sure I've posted before, about a move and ability that go together:
Move: Darkness
Type: Dark
Power: n/a
PP: 5
Summons pitch-black darkness for 5 turns. Cancels effects of Sunny Day, but not other weather moves. Power of Dark- and Ghost-type attacks increases 1.5x during darkness.
Ability: Dark-Skinned
Evasion increases during Darkness. (Just like Sand Veil and Sandstorm.)
And another idea, for a "modern" version of Ancientpower:
Move: Modern Power
Type: Steel
Power: 60
PP: 5
effect: 10% chance to raise all stats.
A ball of digital energy is hurled at the opponent. 10% chance of raising all user's stats due to the quick buildup of digital energy.
