Official New Move/Attack/Ability Ideas Thread

Some of these have been posted in the Gameplay thread, but I felt this was worthy enough for its own sticky. Plus it's fun to make up moves and stuff.

One request: Keep them realistic. The idea of this thread is for moves/abilities that we might actually see in the games, not for intentionally ridiculous ones.

To start, an idea I've had for some time, and I'm sure I've posted before, about a move and ability that go together:

Move: Darkness
Type: Dark
Power: n/a
PP: 5
Summons pitch-black darkness for 5 turns. Cancels effects of Sunny Day, but not other weather moves. Power of Dark- and Ghost-type attacks increases 1.5x during darkness.

Ability: Dark-Skinned
Evasion increases during Darkness. (Just like Sand Veil and Sandstorm.)

And another idea, for a "modern" version of Ancientpower:

Move: Modern Power
Type: Steel
Power: 60
PP: 5
effect: 10% chance to raise all stats.
A ball of digital energy is hurled at the opponent. 10% chance of raising all user's stats due to the quick buildup of digital energy.

Ability: Gravity
Effect: Flying and pokemon with levitate can now be hit with ground moves.

(A Bug Version of Aerial Ace, Specifically designed with Pinsir in Mind)

A harsh rain of Acid falls to damage for 5 turns. (Poison pokemon Immune, Steel Pokemon take double(?) damage each turn, would Halve effect of Synthesis and Moonlight)

Move: Vine Toss
Type: Grass
Power: 75
PP: 15
Accuracy: 100%
Uses Vines to hurl the foe around and around. May cause confusion (some low % like 10%, this would put it on level with Brick Break as far as its power and ability)

Move: ESP
Type: Psychic
Power: N/A
PP: 10
Accuracy: 100%
Uses inate psychic ability to block attacks. (You choose one of your opponent's four moves, if you guess correctly they will not be able to use that move for that turn, sorta like if you had used Disable vs your opponent prior to them attacking with the disabled move)

Sharply decreases user's attack upon useage.

Ability: Terrify
Effect: Reduces oppenent's sp.atk (special based version of intimidate basically)

Ability: Ice Shield
Effect: Water,ice and normal do 1/3 damage they would usually do, fire does triple damage however

Move: Steel Claw
PP:15
Power: 75
Effect: Attacks enemy with a powerful claw - 25% chance of lowering oppent's defence (a signature move for scizor)

Move: PsyBlast
PP:5
Power: 130
Effect: Unleashes a powerful psychic blast on enemy; 50% chance of confusing you (due to mental strain of attack) , 20% chance to lower oppent's special def

The Great Butler

Ice Rock
Type: Ice
PP: 10/ACC: ---/POW: 65
Effect: Places a large rock of ice in front of the double battle partner as a shield for one turn. Any attacks against that Pokémon are automatically countered with no damage to the initial target. Can be broken by Brick Break or any Fire type attack.

Effect: A massive lightning bolt is fired out to cause extreme damage and paralysis. Causes a sharp drop in Special Attack.

Effect: 20% chance of inducing Sleep, Paralyze, or Poison status each turn on all non grass and bug types (of course, immunities to certain status changes hold). A slight twist on the Sandstorm/Hail idea.

Ability: Spore Stream
Effect: Induces Pollen Spray when the pokemon enters battle.

Description: An elegant bright pink beam that pumbles the foe with the scent of roses.10% chance of lowering evasiveness by one level.

Acid Rain
Type: poison
PP:5
Effect: Summons a rain of poisonous droplets. All pokemon that are not steel or poison will be damaged. Poisons get a 1.5x boost.

Edit: damn that's a huge coincidence. Someone has posted the "acid rain" idea up there. Guess credit goes to you MaxPegasus42. :p
