A terrible incident has occurred in London today. A car plowed into a crowd on London Bridge (and there was a BBC reporter on the bridge when it happened. She quickly reported what she saw), there are reports of a stabbing near Borough Market, and there's a third incident in Vauxhall. I give my thoughts and condolences to those affected by these attacks.

Yeah, another attack in Great Britain this time London again. What is happening to these shores? It's senseless and pure evil. Apparently 6 dead already and many more injured. My prayers go to all the affected innocent victims.

Sigh... so there have been two shootings in the US today. I give my thoughts and condolences to those affected by these despicable acts.

The first took place at a Congressional baseball practice in Virginia. Five people were injured, including Congressman Steve Scalise (R-LA) and two officers assigned to protect him. Scalise is now in the hospital in critical condition. The perpetrator was 66-year-old James Hodgkinson, and he was shot and killed by one of the officers. More info here: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/06/14/us/steve-scalise-congress-shot-alexandria-virginia.html

The second was at a UPS facility in San Francisco. The gunman shot and killed three people before killing himself. Police have not yet released the name of the gunman. More info here: http://www.cnn.com/2017/06/14/us/san-francisco-shooting/index.html

Chester Bennington is dead at 41

AP said that the cause is a suicide by hanging. I never really got into Linkin Park, but I heard it a lot on the radio in the 00's. It's really depressing to see someone so young die that way...

RIP.

Well, ****. I know for a fact that I and so many others of my generation grew up listening to LP's music. Probably more so than other artists (generally belonging to older generations) as of late, this one actually felt different.

There was another attack in Europe today, this time in Konstanz, Germany. A gunman opened fire inside a nightclub killing two and injuring four. He exchanged fire with police and was shot and killed at the scene. According to police investigations, the gunman was an Iraqi citizen living in Konstanz, the police knew the gunman from previous encounters, the gunman acted alone, and the attack wasn't terror-related. More investigation is still under way. I offer my thoughts and condolences to those affected by the attack.

You can now pass along HIV to people without repercussion in California.

L.A. Times said:
Gov. Jerry Brown signed a bill Friday that lowers from a felony to a misdemeanor the crime of knowingly exposing a sexual partner to HIV without disclosing the infection.

The measure also applies to those who give blood without telling the blood bank that they are HIV-positive.

Modern medicine allows those with HIV to live longer lives and nearly eliminates the possibility of transmission, according to state Sen. Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) and Assemblyman Todd Gloria (D-San Diego), authors of the bill.

“Today California took a major step toward treating HIV as a public health issue, instead of treating people living with HIV as criminals,” Wiener said in a statement. “HIV should be treated like all other serious infectious diseases, and that’s what SB 239 does.”

Bold emphasis mine.

Last weekend in Spain, there were clashes between police and voters as the latter tried to go to the polls to vote on a illegal ballot referendum for Catalonia's independence from Spain. A whopping 90% of the people who did manage to vote were in favor of independence. Now, huge crowds have formed rallies on the streets of Madrid and Barcelona as Catalan leaders prepared to declare independence. For those of you who don't know, Catalonia is the wealthiest of Spain's autonomous communities and a huge chunk of Spain's tax base comes from there. For many years, however, there have been many efforts by people of Catalonia to gain independence from Spain. The people of Catalonia even have their own language: Catalan. If Catalonia gains independence, there could be devastating economic consequences for Spain.

Congratulations Australia!

Great news, Bananarama! Cheers for Australia! :D

In other news, there's been an incredibly deadly terror attack at a mosque in North Sinai, Egypt, during Friday prayers. At least 235 people have been killed and many more injured. Let us take a moment to send our thoughts and condolences to those affected...

Furthermore, President Trump has condemned this attack and has started using it to renew his push for his border wall. Would someone please explain how building a wall on the Mexican border is going to prevent attacks like this from happening?

Cheers why? Gay marriage is still illegal.

I'm not a huge Trump fan but with a wall border there is less of a chance people sneak into the country illegally and do awful inhumane stuff.
