I think that it won’t because of the power of the Pokémon brand name.

Maybe. Enough marks that'll buy into it. But wow... the amount of parents telling their kids no... XD.

Definitely. This is probably going to bite them in the butt.
Yeah that doesn’t make any sense. The fans that would want to waste money on some computer graphics that are worthless in reality despite what the seller tries to tell you are going to be kids who aren’t old enough to use a credit card and the fans that are old enough and have a credit card are smart enough to know NTFs are nothing but a scam and won’t even bother looking at the offer.

I'm not sure that this will fail. Pokémon is a powerful brand name and Pokémon fans themselves are infamous for being "suckers" who will happily buy anything Pokémon-related regardless of quality. So this might be the first time where NFTs are actually a success.

Imagine being one of the most successful franchises in the world but still being greedy enough to fall prey to the NFT trend. I wonder how their employees will sleep at night knowing that they're scamming people into buying more useless crap.
They probably think that Pokémon NFTs would sell extremely well due to how powerful the Pokémon brand name is.

This is a lot of fretting over a job listing. Handwringing over this is a lot like doing so over behind the scenes filings like trademark registrations and domain names, in that it’s far better not to.

On top of that, it's probably for someone who understands these type of things so they can talk about these types of things in investor meetings.

Speaking of investor meetings, does anybody remember when Nintendo said they might do something with metaverse (etc) if they thought they could do something interesting with it? Similar energy here.

Maybe. But tbh, I'm no fan of any company going in the direction of NFT'S and the metaverse.

I remember that. Good point. It's still something that I'd avoid tho.

There's no need to raise fuzz over a bulletpoint in a job filing that doesn't even say much.
Also, Serebii Joe himself said this.

This is really not news so far. For all we know, they might want to educate themselves on NFTs so they can combat them.
Don't know why you're quoting Joe as if he's more knowledgeable about the inner workings of TPCi's job recruiting department than the rest of us. He may get info on future games ahead of time from his source, but that's about as far as his intel network goes. Not to mention that he always sides with TPCi anyway and never has anything negative to say about them, so of course he wouldn't criticize any future business decisions they make.

But he does at least have a point about waiting until we have more tangible information.
