• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future
Sorry for any inconvenience with this and sorry for any lost posts.

Just to be different, Maybe they're completly new inhabitants to the Pokemon world. Every anime has they're sub-species, Digimon had Digi-Gnoams, So mayube they're some kind of new species that resides in the Torn World? Or hopefully they are just brand new pokemon

I'm hoping they are new Pokemons or something in the Torn World.

BTW, back in the third generation, when did they reveal info on new Pokemons? Because if it follows the same time then they might be as well Pokemons from the 5th Generation.

Its very unlikely that these are entirely new pokemon.

But that is a very good idea. They should create some species that only resides in the Torn World. Having a species in the pokemon world besides humans and pokemon would be very cool.

Now that I think about it, these forms of Rotom probably originate from the Torn World since Rotom is part Ghost type.

I'm disliking all these Alternate Formes of Pokemon. We already have too many:

Unown - 28 formes
Castform - 4 formes
Deoxys - 4 formes
Burmy - 3 formes
Wormadam - 3 formes
Shellos - 2 formes
Gastrodon - 2 formes
Cherrim - 2 formes
Giratina - 2 formes
Shaymin - 2 formes
Arceus - 17 formes

That's 11 Pokemon with different formes. That's by far enough.

Dudes, remember, the new Pokémon/formes are being revealed AFTER the release of Platinum. This means there are two possibilities:

- They DO appear in Platinum. This means they HAVE to be alternate formes (not new Pokémon), and, since they're not supposed to be known until Sept. 28 through Nov. 4, the alternate formes would HAVE to be hidden (event-triggered, password-protected, or some other form of keeping them hidden, though I think event is the most likely, being a main Pokémon game and not a spin-off like Ranger or Mystery Dungeon). What I think is that, if this is the case, the items to change Pokémon X into these new alternate forms (think Glacidia Flower) would be handed out through events.

- They DON'T appear in Platinum, and rather are Gen V Pokémon. This means they don't necessarily HAVE to be alternate formes (although it doesn't rule it out, either). I think it's weird that they would be releasing new Pokémon (or forms) if they're not gonna appear in the next game, but the fact they will be revealed AFTER it releases makes me suspicious.

Although not as likely as being alternate forms, I think they still have a considerable chance of being new Pokémon.

As for what the Pokémon actually are, well, I saw Rotom like everyone did, and not much more...

I'm not exactly sure when we found out about the new 4th gen Pokemon, but I do remember that I found out about the 'original 4,' so to speak, Lucario, Weavile, Bonsly, and Munchlax, here on serebii at the same time as I found out about Pokemon XD... That came out here in October 2005, and I had been following XD for a few months before then.

That means we might've known about those a little under three years before DP came out here in the US. I doubt these 5 new 'things' are 5th generation Pokemon, however... although, Emerald was actually released in May, 2005 (here), and, for all I know, we might have known about the 'original' four not too long after that (I only started coming here around August '05).

I highly doubt these are fifth generation mons, though we may see the first teensy wave of them within the coming year or so.

I COMPLETELY AGREE!!

They MAY look like Rotom, Castform or Baltoy.. But it doesnt necessarily mean that they are Differently formed Pokemon. I am hoping that these are G5 Pokemon, caught in the Torn World. They wouldnt be tradable with D/P but they would with the G5 games.

They tend to release info on the next generation around the time when the 3rd game is released.. so it shouldnt be long.

I dunno.. Just ideas :)

Obviously the color has something to do with it. Before I got to this thread I know the bottom right one looked like a mix of rotom/pikachu just because of the angles of the pika tails. But I'm sure it isn't pikatom...

Color could have to do with typing. Maybe all electric with respective colors. (the last one looks more poison purple than ghost purple). But ghost with respective colors.

We can never know exactly unless someone who works on gamefreak japan or whatever its made from, tells us something.

CoroCoro !

EDIT: Or these 5 could be 5th gen pokemon, and be NPC's like munchlax on XD was to 3rd gen.

true them being released after the official release date of Platinum is kind of suspicious, but i think they're new rotom forms or some weird new magnamite evos. that each learn the same move, but have different attributes (stats)

I honestly dont undrstand the obsession with Rotom Formes, I'm Whizzing on anyones Parade, but Thinking logically all the Pokemon that have forms are either Legendary, or have something to do with Nature or Habitat. Rotom is just a rare Ghost Type, and that's pretty where it's story ends. If there was something else to it, But there isnt.

Besides These new things Look more like Man-Made ( Porygon ) and Robotic

I honestly think they're new forms. Since when have they released completely new Pokemon in the third installment?

I highly doubt they would be revealing Gen V pokemon yet they will probably be ;479; Forms, and the thing about them being revealed after the game is released probably means the leaflets will give you clues of how to get them and then they will officially reveal them later in case some people don't figure out how to get them from the clues.

if they are ;479; forms he might transform by interacting with multiple electrical appliances in the Old Chateu (sp?) so he posses them transforming him into the object?

The Green one: Looks like a toy train, maybe you can find the little girl ghosts toy train and ;479; posses it?
The Orange one: looks like some sort of Light bulb or lamp,
The Blue one: looks like and old TV set and the arms are some sort of antennae while the tail looks like it could be a plug,
The Red one: looks like a toaster with some oven mitts (sp?),
The Purple one: looks like a fridge, maybe it could have low speed but high defense. maybe they'll have more on the story of the mansion!

Wat.
Well, what seems to be the reason to me thinking its a new Poke is Munchlax's cameo in the second to last 3rd Gen Pokemon movie, this probably being the second to last movie, and the movie being revealed December.
I'd like to see Rotom be useful, but I want new Pokemon too.
