• Hi all
    Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
    Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future
    Sorry for any inconvenience with this and sorry for any lost posts.
  • Hi all. We had a couple of reports of people's signatures getting edited etc. in a bad way. You can rest assured this wasn't done by staff and nobody has compromised any of our databases.

    However, remember to keep your passwords secure. If you use similar passwords to elsewhere which has been accessed, people and even bots may be able to access your account.

    We always recommend using unique passwords, and two-factor authentication if you are able. Make sure you're as secure as possible

EDIT: also, it says i'm not allowed to put .gif's in my signature, any reason for that?

Piekid11 Too Tall. You're allowed to put Animated Gifs in, but you've got to watch out for the file size. We don't allow you hot link images from a certain site. (We were experiencing lag due to it.)

Fair enough. I think it's good now, right?

Also, when I'm editing my signature and I look at the signature permissions list, it says I'm not allowed to upload .gif's, when I see them around the forum all the time. :/

You can't upload a Animated Gif to the Serebiiforums.com server. I'm not even sure if that's enabled for most users. (It's enabled for Staff but we can do custom Avatars!) We do suggest using other online hosting, where most of that box you're reading from doesn't apply.

Hey, I just wanted to get my sig checked. The animated .gif file is about 497KB (I made and checked it), so I'm cutting it pretty close with the 500KB limit. Better safe than sorry, though. God forbid I get another strike. >.<
