Has anyone done research into what Poké Miles Bank gives out? I know you get 100 intially, but apparently you get them for depositing Pokémon. After depositing a bunch of pokemon I now have added 3000

ETA: This could be because I've done loads of wonder trading

Bonded? I haven't really done anything special. Just played games and fed them. And what lines are you talking about? Details please.

Yeah, that means you've bonded. Not all the way bonded but you've still bonded.

Why is Trace so much better competitively though?

I think I have an idea why this might be the case. Imagine a situation in which you know one of your opponent's Pokémon has a great Ability (i.e., Adaptability, Sniper, and Multiscale, just to name a few). I think you can see how it could be useful to be able to switch in and gain that Ability! (Just be sure doing so wouldn't result in your Pokémon being knocked out.) In short, it's about being able to gain a great Ability.

I guess I'll get Synchronize then maybe, since I'm finding Trace to be near useless ingame. Why is Trace so much better competitively though?

Here is all you need to know:

Battle Mechanics: http://www.serebii.net/xy/battles.shtml

Pokemon Amie: http://www.serebii.net/xy/pokemonamie.shtml

Trace copies the Ability of the current Pokemon, If the opponent has just been KOed, Trace will copy the ability of the next Pokemon revealed in the battle.*

Hope this helps. :)

Heya.

I'm filling up my dex right now and I've got a little question. For the Oval Charm: Do I need to catch all Kalos-Dex Pokémon in Kalos? For example, do I need to catch and train Gabite up to Garchomp in Kalos or can I just transfer a Gabite and train it up to Garchomp?

I don't think you need to do so for the Shiny Charm since you can't catch some legendaries and a few other Pokémon in Kalos but the Oval Charm left me wondering.

To get the Oval Charm, you just need to see all the Pokémon in the Kalos Pokédex (minus the Legendary Birds and Mewtwo).

For the Shiny Charm, I believe you need to log data on all Pokémon (except event legends), but it doesn't matter whether you catch those Pokémon in-game or transfer them from another game to log their data.

When pursuing the roaming legendary, will it tell you when it flies off to Sea Spirit's Den? I know it's after ten, but I don't remember exactly how many times I've encountered Articuno.

Why can't I name my Feraligatr Cipactli or Sobek? I bred it myself and it will allow me to name it something other than those two names but it really kinda aggravates me.
It's not about Pokemon ownership. The censor rules are just made like that. I think Sobek is just banned cause it has S.O.B in it. -_- Not sure about the other one.

You might want to look at this article too. Trace is great to turn abilities back at their owners. It seems in competitive scene Proygon2 (with Eviolite) is the most common user of it. You can Intimidate a Gyarados back, so it can't KO you, while you can threaten it with Thunderbolt. Chandelures are usually Choice Scarfed, so you trace it's Flash Fire (or predict well to get a free switch at least) & then proceed to waste it. In the same manner, you can counter Jolteon, Vaporeon or Flygon, by self-immunizing against their STABs. Also, to remove any status ailment, just switch into a Blissey & switch out. In-game, your definitely better off with Synchronize, since you are going to encounter more status inducing Pokemons that Pokemons with such great abilities.

Interesting. Shaking cause of bonding.

That makes a great deal of sense, basically stealing or taking an ability that makes you immune tothe opponent that is only so so when used by them.

Doesn't really help me all tthat much. I know how Amie works for the most part, and the question about shaking has been answered. What I still don't get is the extra experience.

Between you and Fighting Pikachu I get why it's so good in competition.

Now can somebody please explain why Pokémon that I'm the original trainer of are gaining boosted experience? That's all I don't get right now. The only thing I figured out is they get boosted experience when they're about to evolve at the end of the battle, but what about if it's not the level they're about to evolve on? Happened to my Ralts that I'm the OT of. She was level 19 and getting boosted experience from a swarm. Either I'm blind, or nobody has explained this. Please, why did it happen?

Amie shouldn't have anything to do with it. I very rarely play with my Pokemon in Amie and I don't have the problem you're having. I just realized, though - did the Pokemon you were fighting use Encore on you? What you're describing sounds like Encore.

Hi, sorry for the late reply - real life got in the way! I've done a few more battles in the Chateau today though, and the problem doesn't seem to be reoccurring. I'm still not sure why it happened (re: Encore, that wasn't used by either Pokemon in battle either) but as long as it's not something that happens often, I think I'll just grin and bear it. Thank you to everyone who helped. :)

If you played with it in Amie and brought its affection up past 3 hearts, it might start getting boosted EXP. (About 20% according to the main site)
This is added on top of the boosted EXP from overleveling your Pokemon and preventing Evolution.
In any case, it might be because someone's given you an EXP Power while they passed by.

Did you happen to get your 3DS from a shop that receives imported US 3DSes?
Because it should be working for you if you purchased the 3DS from a European supplier.
