Hi, do you guys know how to get shiny Zapdos? I have to met this bird at least 12 times and then save the game before battle Zapdos just in case if I can restart it until I get shiny, no?

You can't get a shiny Zapdos, or any legendary, for that matter, in XY because they're all shiny locked.

I think all of these Diancie problems are 1.3 patch related. I SR'd probably 50
times for a Naive or Quiet Diancie with a good IV spread and EVERY time I checked IVs, it had 3 perfect ones. This was before the 1.3 patch. I didn't start seeing no-IV Diancie discussions until last night and with all of the trading and battling issues people are having with Diancie now, I'm thinking there's a glitch going on here.

TLDR; I SR'd for Diancie IVs before the 1.3 patch ad every time I had 3 perfect IVs. Now post-patch, people are saying their Diancie don't have IVs.

I SRed one before and after the patch on each game(Y before the patch and maintenance and X after) neither one had 3 perfect IVs.

Events you usually can't. Wouldn't let me with the dw arceus in white.

Events you usually can't. Wouldn't let me with the dw arceus in white.

You can trade ANYTHING, even hacked Pokemon, with Friends. You can't trade anything on Wonder Trade or on the GTS. I'm not sure about Passerbys.

Yeah you can trade anything with friends and I believe passerbys as well..... This person is a friend and it won't let me trade my Diancie



EDIT: My Diancie can make it through PokeBank.... still can't trade it through Wifi with a friend

I'm trying to get a shiny Honedge through breeding, and am using a Japanese Ditto (31/31/31/31/31/0 IVs) from 5th Gen, aa well as a Honedge I bred myself with 31/31/31/31/31/0 IVs. My question is as follows; as I don't know if the Ditto is hacked or not (may be region-hacked, may be IV-hacked), will I still be able to breed with a high rate of success for a Shiny? (I do have the Shiny Charm, and am getting the expected IVs)

As long as they have different nationalities, Masuda Method should work correctly.

I have a question about cloned pokemon. just to be clear, im not asking how its done or how to do it myself. I don't plan on doing it either way. do cloned pkmn come from tampering with the save file on the SD card? I know in silver (or was it yellow) you could easily do that with the box change and save function. im aware some do have the skills to mess with the data on a PC so im asking it cloned pokemon come about from PC info tampering.

No, they come about from a trading glitch. Save data is stored on the game card, or in the inaccessible internal memory of the 3DS if you're using the digital version.

ty very much for the reply Hydrohs. I did look at 1 youtube vid which was a complete hoax that would mess up your save file. im guessing this glitch can only happen by accident?

I am working on breeding a shiny Ponyta using a Japanese male and an USA female.

Given: I fill up my party with eggs and walk around until the eggs are close to hatching. Can I save the game just before the hatching event and then keep soft resetting to repeat the actual hatch? Meaning if I do this, will the hatching eggs keep getting a new chance at being shiny?
Or do I really need to keep hatching dozens of eggs until one comes out shiny?

At what point does the game determine if the hatching pokemon is shiny? (As soon as the egg is handed over from the Day Care Guy, or at the hatching event.)

unfortunately is not that simple. the traits are determined upon receiving the egg. soft resetting will not change the outcome.
