Okay....(bit of a rant about comedy one-shot writers)

(NOTE TO MODS: THIS NEEDS TO BE READ BY THE WRITERS SPECIFIED IN THE TITLE. I HAVE NO CLUE WHERE ELSE TO PUT IT WHERE IT WOULD BE READ. REDIRECTION WOULD BE NICE.


Now, I know I'm not the BEST comedy one-shot writer, but that doesn't give anyone any right to just chuck my Laughingstock entry right out the window, into the sewer to be eaten by cannibalistic mole mutants, just because it sucks.

In his response to my post in the Laughingstock thread, Iceking really proved to live up to his username. Get what I mean? If you don't, tough beans for you, kid. Typhlogirl is a seriously grumpy judge. Bay was right, she DOES have a Cacturne shoved up.....well, you get the point. Brian Powell was okay, I guess. So was Breezy.

But, at any rate, all you comedy judges have standards that are just too high for us rookies. It gives us the feeling that you loathe everything related to rookies and what they write. I don't like that. At all. If you like it, tough, 'cause I don't tolerate your Mt. Rushmore-high standards.

If you have any responses after Dragonfree or a mod closes this, PM me. And...

DO NOT BASH ME IN THE PM OR RESPNONSE TO THIS THREAD. I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF THAT ALREADY.

If anyone thinks I'm overreacting, you might be right. But I don't give a ****, got that? Good.

Don't lose your temper and expect people to treat you gently, because life doesn't work that way.

I admit; I regrettably could not enter the contest myself, but you must remember this is not a serious competition. If you felt the judges to be somewhat biased or unfair, why not PM them instead of making a public hassle? Not everyone agrees with you, remember that. This is purely based upon your speculation of their motives, so I don't think making a public announcement was entirely necessary. I apologize if you felt the standards were too high, but you're competing with many prominent writers and lowering their standards for 'rookies' would only distort the contest. Try harder and maybe next time, you can prove them wrong.

I know exactly what you mean- sometimes people write these good comedy fictions, and in the end they get bombarded by other reviewers saying "we don't accept jokes here" or "if you consider this to be a joke fiction, don't put it here", especially since one of the reasons why the freedom is writing is allowing you to do whatever you want- if you're just trying to be funny, and you do it well, then why should another person tell you your purpose of spreading humor is wrong? Comedy could be the purpose of another person's fiction- a good reason.

Autism is where people behave differently, and have language/social problems. They communicate differently. It is classified as a certain kind of mental retardation(Although, in rare cases it can actually heighten your IQ), and can't be classified as a physical illness.

The only reason I did that was because he's been whining forever, I was calm to him on his first outburst and told him politely that he was rejected. Second time I was a bit sterner, but if he doesn't get the message, I'm afraid I have no choice but to be harsh.


And it was a CONTEST, as in looking for good material, rookies are welcome, but expected to abide by the rules.

And again, only I get to call Typhlogirl what I call her. You calling her what I call her just shows that you have no originality =P

Lucile Ball was rejected, Elvis Presely was rejected, and plenty of other amazing stars in history were rejected and told that they sucked in much harsher ways than "We are sorry to say this, but your entry has been rejected" Who knows! You might be able to go write the Simpsons of the 20th century or somein, as long as you stop wallowing in self-pity

...Since when is comedy looked down in Serebii =/ I don't believe the four judges have ever recieved a comment going "Jokes are bad!". Bad jokes...on the other hand...

What you said about autistism made me a little mad because you had insulted my good friend Silentvibrava here. She may have that, but she is really quite a smart and caring person. And yes, I agree with her that you should apoligize.

Technically, Autisic spectrum disorders isn't a mental retardation either... it's a developmental disorder (which effects preception and the way people affected by it interact with the outside world)

but it should definately not be used as an excuse for rude behaviour...

If I told you once, I told you many times don't use your autism as an excuse! Most of all, don't go ranting and raving like this. Remember, we've tried to help you. I've even tried to help you many times. You sent ripoff superheroes for me to check out and they were bad. I've told you how to improve and you flamed. You're doing it again. You're doing the same thing you did to Power Shot and I when we wouldn't let you in our fanfic universe.


I dunno what to do about you any more, this has gotten too far out of hand and is really, really low. We're trying to help you. So you weren't accepted. Big deal. It isn't the end of the world. Just listen to them like you FINALLY listened to me adfter I stoppewd getting your pms. You were improving but now this comes up.

You need to learn that not everyone's out to get to ands you acan't make excuses out of a handicap. I'm deaf but I don't use that as a crutch. You shouldn't either. I have hearing aids, btw.

Anyway, show showed some improvement when you listen to people. You haven't made a bad ripoff in a while. It's like you relapsed. You need to chill.

Hey, I have autism also, and for some reason, it makes everyone get scared of me and treat me differently (not in a bad way- it can make you friends), and for some reason, I think it's the idea why I made sixth place on the honor roll. My obsession with so many things and talking in haikus, wondering why people are so ugly, and such... You don't know how much I agree with that post. I was trying to say that, but couldn't find the right words. Yeah, the general public refers to it as mental retardation, especially some of the American school systems.

Autistic or not, whining is very childish and gets you no where. I'm surprised you didn't complain after your one-shot first got rejected, which I assume was quite a few weeks ago. Why complain now? In fact, why complain at all?

It was also the judges decision who to exclude and who to not. It was under their jurisdiction, just like a person who makes an RPG in the forums here has the right to accept/decline applicants for their own reasons.
