Old Games which deserve remakes.

Just like the title says. Which games that came out in the 80's/90's do you think deserve remakes. I can't think of one at the moment, but I'm sure some of you would like to see some of your favorites being totally refined and being released on this generation handhelds/consoles.

Ice Climbers *shot*

Well, they do deserve a sequel. *shot*

Now with two bullets lounged in me, I would have to say....

Metroid II: Return of Samus.

And yes, I do know about the fan remakes. I want something more authentic.

Ice Climbers need a new full game, not a remake.

Earthbound, I think. Even though it wasn't popular when it came out, it has a great fanbase.

Much as a remake would be nice, unless it's basically just a port with slightly-upgraded graphics, no thank you. The game would just seem wrong if it was changed, for most changes.

Especially if it were moved to 3D. I'm with you, a reissue needs to happen (**** you very much, Nintendo, for not caring enough to slog through all the work that would be involved with licensing), but.

They did remake Earthbound (And Mother 1) for GBA, they just didn't release it outside Japan.

They should remake Donkey Kong Junior in the style of the GB remake of Donkey Kong and the GB Mega Man games... they almost did with Mega Man Anniversary Collection for GBA until it was canned.

I'll list out two games mentioned by Gametrailer's "Top 10 Games that Need Necessary Remakes:"

Duck Tales and Battletoads.

That way, I can see how good these games are like they were back in their time.

I would feel that would be true. It would be nice if they were fleshed out more other than from Smash Bros.

I don't think Earthbound would need a remake. It was rightfully ported, just not in the U.S., which was stated earlier.

Remakes should just come out of the wazoo; they should be carefully examined.

I won't risk getting in trouble for downloading games on an emulator as it seems illegal. I wish to play a game legitimetally.

Buy an NES at a flea market for 10 bucks and a game of Battletoads for 5.

-giggle- He thinks he'll get in trouble for pirating games.

Also, you're asking for a remake but you want to play the games as they were in their day.

Guess I wasn't specific enough. I just want those games to be remade and have the same experience as everyone who played the games in their original forms back then. I just want to be a part of the true gamers, where you must play at least one entry of a long running franchise they grew up with in the 80's.

If they could make it beatable, that'd be a nice bonus, too. >_>

Just use the Konami Code.

I don't know about anyone else, but for me, remakes...just aren't worth it. Take the remake of Goldeneye, for example. I freakin' love that game, and not just for the fabulous meme that came out of it. I played the entire remake, and I enjoyed it. Then I remembered, "I loved this game, and I beat the crap out of it...I don't really want to play this anymore." I'm glad I only borrowed it. Buying a game just to play it once seems pretty wasteful, to me. Yeah, there's the nostalgia factor in it all, but certain games are made to be the way they are. You can't take, say, Space Invaders, and completely re-do it with fantastical graphics and get the same thing out of it when you first played it as a small lad/lass. Its just not the same.
Every generation has its games. Leave them as they are, I say.
