Do you like the old Pokemon games or the new Pokemon games better?

I like the new games better, they have great new Pokemon and they also have natures. ^^

I don't care for the old games. I'll play them sometimes, but I don't really care if I mess up on them. I caught a shiny Tentacool (now Tentacruel) on Silver, so I got slighty more interested, but I like the advance generation better. I wanted Blue so I could get Missingno. and experiment.

Be aware that the poll is public.

New. I've bought pretty much every game of this Gen, which shows that they redeemed the few, yet evident mistakes in the old ones, at least in my opinion...

It has more Pokémon, more games (All excellent.), and a system that allows balance, despite the complaints. The few things I miss of the old ones are Whitney, a few tones, Whitney, a few features (Though they're certainly overhyped despite them being badly conducted...), Whitney, a few Stadium details and, um... Whitney. And she's among the Contest crowd, so...

I also loved how they injected new life with the Orre saga. Instead of going with their popularity contest, they brought a very dark Region with an actual threat you have to trump. Yes, lack of exploration might be a big turn-off, but for the most part, it was different to all the same old things in every other game...

That'd be it...

Old. Mainly G/S/C.

-I just love the time feature
-the ability to catch every pokemon, exept for Celebi, with only three games
-t introduced Skarmory, Blissey, Tyranitar, Toxic, Seismic Toss, Flamethrower, Surf, Thunderbolt, Psychic and many more
-the fact that Johto actually had a history. There wasn't one town without it's own myth, legend, ancient place, etc.
-the ability to get to every region that was known at the time
-the introduction of the Battle Tower
-the Stadium games are also the best place to show off your fighting skills

Okay, I have a request for those of you answering.
Could you say what you think of the other games?

i.e. You like the new games but talk about the old.

But you don't have to.

I apologize if you got into Pokémon during the 2nd Gen, but the bolded stuff existed since Red/Blue... :)

-the fact that Johto actually had a history. There wasn't one town without it's own myth, legend, ancient place, etc.
Mahogany and Cyanwood had no historic building/myth/whatever. Neither did Cherrygrove or New Bark. I don't recall Olivine having any either... :)

And as you wish, Politoed, despite the fact I'm risking an argument against the endless GSC Fanbase.

I enjoyed the old games as well. However, there were two factors that made me hate most of it, pretty much.

-First, and most of all, Nintendo's sucktastic design made the GB Carts so unprotected in every way. The data erased at the slightest provocation. Every time. I never had the chance of enjoy the core at its fullest because the stupid games always erased on me, and I had to start over every damned time...

-The N64 was, in my opinion, a sub-par console. TOO few jewels to actually remember, and way too expensive due to Nintendo's stubborness from changing formats. There's no denying the Stadiums were among the best games, but that was hardly worth an entire console alone. The GCN, on the other hand, is excellent...

And well, I also felt GSC completely unenjoyable. I won't get into senseless arguments, though I do point out that most of the GSC Fans are delluded and give praise for the measliest of reasons, instead of actually looking through the fancy features and see they weren't great. If at all...

One... the two Regions are negligible. They pushed the memory to its limits, transforming Kanto into a blatant shadow of its former self, and not giving Johto enough size or focus. They could've given Johto more recognition and identity, but no... they had to make it a sad subordinated and have in two sadly small Regions...

Time and Radio are overhyped to no end. The Radio was filled with random and senseless crud for the most part, save the Lucky Channel and Buena's Show. The rest was useless at best. In fact, the Radio was much better when Team Rocket took over. Team Rocket was also a sad shadow of the original one too... :(

Time? Bleh. Only for the nifty graphics.Graphics don't make a game, and it should've been saved for a system that could've emulated the experience much better. Not to mention that for most of the game, Night just had one use: Hoothoot. Morning was 99% useless too. It's a good feature. There's no denying it at all. But if it were to return, they better make it MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better...

The biggest mistake, though, was the sheer lack of focus in the new Pokémon. They should've given ALL of them MUCH more spotlight instead of keeping a big bunch of them until Kanto. Plus, it was almost RBY 2, which was sad at best. It wasn't until Colosseum/XD when I FINALLY happened to meet awesome Pokémon like Houndour and Ariados...

RBY was cruddy and buggy too. But they were the first, so...

Stadium 1 was awesome. Stadium 2 was a popularity contest filled with less-than-enjoyable mini-games (When compared with the EXCELLENT Stadium 1 ones...) and sucktastic prizes...

Done in... ^^

I meant that those moves were introduced in the older generations, not specificly G/S/C.

And Mahogany has an old Ninja base and is conected to the Lake of Rage.
Cianwood and Olivine have the Whirl Islands. And the Lighthouse in Olivine is also rich of history.

Old gen of games was best. I'm talkin' about G/S/C, which, ta me, remain tha most comprehensive and complete Pkmn games ever, tch, plus ya can visit the old R/B/Y Kanto region.

If it weren't for GSC, I'd vote for only the newer games. The thing is, they don't have a remake of Johto, which is a shame 'cause I really enjoyed it. The new games are superb in their advancements and I know as well as any average Joe that they are better in every way, but they lack Johto. I had to vote both...Pokemon is the only game I play. ;)

Screw nostalgia. I like the new games better because of all the fun things you can do when Wallace is buttered rye toast. Contests (although there should be more after you beat them all), BATTLE FRONTIER, natures making training more complex, rematches with gyms...god I love Emerald.

Doesn't mean I miss my Typhlosion on Silver though ;.;

I like them both....they both have there ups and downs..

Ok i own every game(no GC ones >__<) and i have found things in each i like they they both dont have so i will tell you..

Ok the new generations good points...Natures, new pokemon and wheather(even tho they took away night and Day)

The good points about the older ones(including G/S/C)....Misingno(i wish they put him in the new ones), Blizzard and moves like that rarely miss, Duplacation trick, Night and day and the abbility to go to Kanto with the same game (i miss that the most)..

like i said they have there ups and downs....

I think new ones, they have some use. Also, colosseum has the best story ever seen in pokémon, I like Hoenn pokémon the best (though just gardevoir is between my 5 favourites) and it's choosing the opposite to those who say 'it's the first it's the best' >_>
About, the old ones, Johto is still my favourite region, I find its towns to be the most interesting ones, it's mainly a legend-based region. But looking now at them, they're useless and a bitt crappy (glad that my game has never been erased).

I didn't really like R/B too much, But the games that I loved the most have been S/G/C! For 2 reasons...
1. Best Pokemon game to date!
2. Introduction of Heracross!!!!

I also Loved the Stadium games much more than the Colesseum games.

In G/S/C, Kanto was pratically made to be very boring. Here's how...

For one, they very respectfully dug out all the graves in Lavender Tower and replaced it as some tower you can only go on the first floor on.
And I love Sliph Co. but that cop won't get out of my way.
Also, Cinnibar City, one of the best places in Kanto, was blown up by some volcano, and now it's the dullest place ever.
Then, there's the Safari Zone. I understand the reason for removing it, but they didn't need to keep that useless building.

There's probably a lot more to that.
