No more step count, please. It's annoyingly restrictive and unnecessary.

I think they should make the Safari Zone function more like the Bug Catching Contest and let you take one Pokemon in, especially if they plan on putting HAs in there because otherwise you have no way of knowing which Pokemon have their HAs before you catch them.

Wouldn't Soul Silver/Heart Gold be a better candidate for the safari?

After all, we could customize and stay in for however long we darn well pleased...

No. The point is that you need a Pokemon to bring with you for HAs. HGSS's Safari Zone still had the same mud/rocks/whatever gimmicks.

Really feeling it
That's an interesting idea, but I like a set team. I think it wouldn't feel like "their team", if they just slapped a bunch of different ones on each time.
Yes. It's already hard enough to make a unique team for the gym leaders, and that's partly due to rematches. Ice, for example, is impossible, with few species and loads of GLs/E4s. The only Ice-type families (excluding legendaries, Castform and Rotom) not in the initial rosters of Ice specialists are Glaceon's, Delibird's and the Amaura's, with Glaceon being used by Candice in her rematch.

I hope they keep the safari zone the same way and don't replace it with "friend safaris" or even the type of safari in HGSS. I want some good-old fashioned 500 step-count safaris.

I agree. I want the old Safari Zone back, it actually made you strategize.

The "Friend Safari" should remain Kalos and further regions.

why the buck would you want "luck based" safari zone guys. Friend Safari was THE BEST safari. I mean sure there is THAT annoyance with having to unlock 3rd pokemon and HA when your friend is online same time as you are but apart from that it was perfect. No annoying pokemon running away from you. No step lmit and easy way to get good IV pokemon and HA's. And you get to use your own balls and NOT "great-ball knock-offs". I mean seriously old Safari Zone isn't a skill but it is basically luck... and I think we have enough of those with legendary pokemon thank you very much.

If you guys want a Safari Zone without a step limit and want to bring a pokémon with you I don't really see why you're not just wishing for a regular route, the only difference would be cheaper balls. I liked the old Safari because it was hard and it was almost an achievement to catch some of the harder pokémon(sure it was because of luck, but the point still stands). I don't get why everything needs to be dumbed down.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the Friend Safari too. But for other reasons like how convenient it was. However nothing about it reminded me of a regular Safari Zone. If it had a different name I'm sure people wouldn't even compare it to the Safari Zone.

Honestly I wouldn't mind at all if we get R/S/E style Safari again, as long as one of these two things happen:

1. Shinies don't appear there
2. Safari Ball has 100% catch rate only on shinies encountered inside the Safari Zone.

Again... can't we have both?
The original Safari for main game, then the Friend Safari option unlocks post-game.

I can see this happening. I'd personally like it if they could either make the Friend Safari an exclusive area that appears in one of the post-game areas, or they could make it an extension to the current Safari Zone after defeating Steven similar to the Johto extension in Emerald

My suggestion would be: turn the Altering Cave into something like the Friend safari in the sense that you can find shinies and pokemons with HA and higher IVs easily.
But place the Altering Cave where the Artisan cave used to be. Also make it with several rooms where each room would have a different pokemon selection each day - thus the name Altering Cave. And everytime you defeat a Frontier brain you unlock even more rooms with different pokemons.

As complex as this idea seems, I kind of like it. But could you elaborate on what you mean by "different Pokémon selection each day", do you mean type(s), level(s) or something entirely different?
I don't think it should be too easy to obtain shiny Pokémon, but I definitely like the idea of capturing different Pokémon on a daily basis as this would encourage people to play more.

Great idea! **Smiles**

I'm not an expert, but from what I've read XY didn't even cut close to what the 3DS can handle. I believe the reason it lagged during parts of the game like horde battles is because of the lack of experience GF had with new technology. Just like DP was inferior to HGSS or Pt was simply due to getting use to the DS. ORAS will looke vastly surperior because they are more skilled now.

The lag still continues in ASOR in that scene where Swampert uses Muddy Water during a Horde Battle with Magma Trainers. Which seems to suggest that the lag is a product of an inferior GPU (aka the processor responsible for creating graphics). Also, I wouldn't really compare 2.5D Pokemon games to 3D ones, because the 2.5D games aren't really that taxing on the system, whereas XY and ASOR are.

I mean type. Like, Friday: you can find ghost and dark types, Saturday: you can find water and ground types. Each room is different. Like, in one room you can find Eevee, Audino and Kecleon, while in another room you can find Mincinno, Teddiursa and Dunsparce. You unlock rooms by getting Frontier Symbols.
Tbh, i don't know how to elaborate this idea without making it complicated, but i guess there should be a way of making this simpler.
Thanks :)

Oh, yes. PLEASE YES!

The terror whenever I enter a Safari Zone is indescribable.

Ah, thank you for explaining it in further detail for me/others. It sounds like you've been thinking about it for quite a while, I'd like to see something like this in-game, because it would not only be cool, and as I mentioned in my previous response; perhaps encourage more gameplay, but limit the chances of random encounters which means it would in theory, be easier to fill, and maybe even complete the Pokédex.
So, when are you taking this idea to 'GF'? :p :p

Ah, I'm honestly going to be thinking about your idea the next time I go training in a cave... See what you've done now?! **Laughs**
