Wally's theme wouldn't seem out of place in something like Tales or Shin Megami Tensei.
Ooh, sweet, so the Deoxys theme I heard on Reddit was legit. Now, to see if battlefield is just as amazing.It's in space of course it is

They ruined the Elite 4 theme, it goes way overboard with trumpets. Pity because it was my favorite theme in the originals.
Also awful. It's generic rock that doesn't really fit him.

I do agree that ORAS battle themes lacks of instruments and melody..
The new OST isn't formally "bad" exactly, but not really what I was hoping for. It seems to completely miss a lot of nuance that the original had in terms of instrumental flairs and details. The new renditions capture the general idea of the themes, but don't take them much further than that, and it definitely disappoints me.

Really?
seems more like a "rising hope" type of theme to me, like him finally rising to the challenge after working so hard despite his illness. Thats why he has this theme during his final encounter, he's grown up and become strong.

Well this theme disappointed me to be honest, also the lack of clapping on several themes since they did hoenn ost even more unique.

I can't say anything about the quality of the theme itself, and i do agree some instrument use could be lacking. But I was arguing against the fitting wally thing more then anything else.
I think theres a lot of background instruments and melodies that are hard to hear at first hear that make the themes better though, like the sort of 8-bit tune in the background of the wild pokemon battle theme makes it a joy to listen to with headphones.

Welp..if you say so. lol No use arguing about it, I dont think I'll be able to convince you otherwise.
On a side note, dexoys's theme is so HNNNNNNG <3 the instruments fit so well for its theme!
ugggh this is going to be hard to find a favorite... but...

Can't really say if they ruined it but to be honest, I was expecting more. It feels like it's incomplete and the harmonia is somewhat lacking, you know.
However, I do love other themes more and surprised that they made a huge impact compared to E4 at the moment. Vs. Wally, Zinnia and Frontier Brain are very well made.
My list would be:
Zinnia=Wally>Frontier Brain>Archie/Maxie>Rival>Elite Four>Deoxys>Champion

Wally and Zinnia's battle themes are amazing. Is that Yoko Shimomura in Zinnia's theme? Get her on Gen VII asap.
