Omega Ruby Team

    I've been playing through Omega Ruby a lot since it launched and I have a team, but need some opinions on some of the moves. Also could use some opinions on held items. Not going to be breeding or changing Pokémon though.

    Kipper/Swampert @ Leftovers
    Ability: Torrent
    -Waterfall
    -Ice Punch
    -Hammer Arm
    -Earthquake

    Waterfall & EQ are great STAB moves. I think Ice Punch will be better due to higher Attack. Hammer Arm because it already has bad speed.

    Metagross @ Metagrossite
    Ability: Clear Body/Tough Claws
    -Meteor Mash
    -Zen Headbutt
    -Earthquake
    -Hammer Arm

    Sucks that you can't nickname that special Beldum. I would've called it Grodus. Technically I still can at least. Anyways, the main part I need help with the last slot.

    Going with Discharge because I'll probably do more Double/Triple Battles. Snarl is at least better than Bite!

    Ability: Magma Armor
    - Heat Wave
    - Earth Power
    - Iron Head
    - Rock Polish

    Heat Wave because I'll probably mainly do Double/Triples.

    - Stone Edge
    - Crunch

    Not sure about what other moves I should put on.

    Vern Why not both?

    Hm. You could try using other items besides muscle bands and wise glasses, as those, while good, do not give that much of a boost to moves. If you don't mind the recoil, Life Orb is an option, giving you massive power boosts with some recoil. You could put leftovers on Swampert, as swampert is a defensive pokemon without recovery and could use some passive health regen. Use hammer arm, as swampert isn't outspeeding much anyways and you could use the extra damage. Brick break can smash screens, but ice punch could work too. If you are going double/triple, use heat wave.

    Thanks for the suggestions! I'll try to get some Life Orbs.

    Now I need some help on the final move for my Metagross.

    How far are you into this game? Because if you haven't taken Drake yet then ice punch might be useful. If you have then I'd go with hammer arm as even a supereffective 2X Ice punch isn't worth much when you have STAB psychic and steel moves.

    I beat the main game and the Delta Episode, but I have been rebattling the E4 periodically for level grinding (and I expect to challenge them more when I'm working on evolving Pokémon for the dex). Really one of the big reasons I am thinking about Ice Punch is because it covers one of Metagross' weaknesses. Then again, so does Hammer Arm. The speed reduction shouldn't be too bad for it. Metagross, especially Mega, is really powerful. Definitely leaning more towards Hammer Arm now.
