Wow. You've gotten very good over the past year or so. I'm surprised.
Thank you very much! I think it's beacause I've felt more creative and less lazy lately Before it was like: 'I could scratch that -insert random piece of random pokemon- or I could just stick it on there and reshade it alittle and it would look bad....', and now I'm really trying my hardest.
I thought it was a basic fusion, but when i read scratch, I was like: WUT!?!? Of course the base isn't scratched, I knew that.
The only thing I would possibly change would be the colors on the second one, maybe make your own shade of red? It just contrasts too much and makes my eyes hurt. But great job on this one.
Thanks! LOL, I hoped so!
I agree. I just used that one cause I liked Persian's body color better than Delcatty's....why I didn't just use his color and the purple, I can't tell you cause I'm really not sure, lol. I did actually make the darkest and lightest red colors.
Now...let's see. Another sprite.
The Spearow I guess.
You did most of steps right when revamping. Most. You reshaded, recoloured, and redid the outline(colour) a bit too. But, you forgot one thing, that kind of bothers me when it's forgotten. You forgot to change the body proportions. That sprite looks nothing like the modern Spearow. It should. So, take your newly developed scratching skills and scratch some. Leave the pose the way it is, just scratch some of the parts e.g. wings, feet and neck line. It will make it look much better, trust me on this.
I know, I was going to change him, but he was just a quick 'filler' for between bigger things. I know what you want me to do to the wings and feet, but what should I do to the neck?
The Violet and Dash now.
Wow. Great cosplays(although I'm pretty sure that wasn't the medium, but seeing as most people took it that way, it was allowed.)
I thought we were supposed to do cosplays...
Some small things I noticed though. On Violet: Near the top of her thigh, there is an awkward outline. It's kind of rugged in a way. I'm pretty sure it was the part where teh cool trainer's shirt started. if you could smoothen that out, I would feel much better about the sprite. Also, the arm (without pokeball) seems a bit jumbled. Try not to stick to the EXACT outline of the original sprite. Possibly bring the arm out a pixel and change the back of the arm's outline to black instead of red, it would define it better.
ok I see what you mean, I'll finish that when I finish the rest of the family. What exactly do you mean about the outline on the arm?
On Dash: The hair is REALLY bothering me. Can you PLEASE make your own color for the darkest yellow? It would be SO much better. Actually, take the colors from the guitarist. His hair is blonde and would go well with the sprite. Maybe make his head bigger too(cause it is in the movie) lol. Just kidding. Um, but the yellow on the shirt is very bothering, maybe cut down on it near the belt line, take away a few pixels or so?
Ok when I finsih the family I'll change the colors. That's the problem with the yellow/orange belt thing. His is only 2 or 3 pixels tall(I'm pretty sure it's only 2), so if I cut it down you won't see it at all. I'll try it though and see how it looks.
I hope I'm making sense. I tend to not word my critiques right. :/
For the most part I understand what you mean.
For the Blastoise cosplays. Yay. Bowser is ALMOST perfect. Some little things that would make it 100% perfect. Edit the knee outline closest to us) and make it smoother. Possibly change the outline color for the spikes, it seems to be very light. And try to use no dithering on the hair.
Thank you! I see what you mean on the knee...if I go back and edit him later(possiblely I could make a Peach, Mario, and/or Toad sprite to go with it ) I will fix it. What do you mean about the outline color? Well I didn't want it to be too dark, plus the black bands use some very similar and some of the same colors so if I darken it too much the outline will blend in completely.
Now for Bubbles. Oh my. Oh oh my. Those feet are really annoying. That's the only thing I didn't like about your entry, and the fact that bubbles' skin tone was too dark. you should've taken a trainer's skin tone and shades Bubbles. The feet, though, they need some work. You should've made them look more like boots, and possibly slimmed them down a bit as they got closer to the ground. Edit the shading on the boots. Make them congruent with the shading on the legs.
I completely agree with you. Her legs got really screwed up. Doh! *smacks forehead with palm* Why didn't I think of that for the skin?! LOL, I don't think I'll be fixing it though. I think the attemped truely failed because, as my friend Suicune lover said that I was: 'attempting to fuse an overweight turtle with water cannons with a small little girl.' LOL, I was thinkign about tryign to make the PPG as trainer sprites, I'm sure it would look better!
And now I'm done with you.
Thanks for crit'ing my sprites! Please come back regularly!
sorry
oh i have a question, can we use those coulor palates?
Comment time
I love how you did your winter Torterra! The red one looks more festive, but there still seems something off about it. Or maybe it's just me.
The scratched snow looks very good and realistic, but the presents under the tree are minuscule. I barley noticed them until now. Maybe make them a bit bigger, or more noticeable.
That's all for now.
Some of your fusions are good. The Persian/Delcatty ones might need work as their heads don't sit too right. And what I mean by that is the ears on the Persian. The Torterra is quite funny. You might want to repose Treed. He looks too... still. I understand he's a tree, but he still looks stuck and unable to move. Pember's head is too big compared to the rest of the body. And I'd prefer it be called Tansprout. That name flows easier. And I also think the sprite for him is way too small, although it's a good idea. I also like the palettes. Keep them coming.
I'm not sure what I was trying to say, but the ears look like they don't sit well on the head.Hm, I don't see what you mean....could you try maybe explaining it alittle more?
Thanks, I like him too
I know Treed needs a new sprite(and if anyone can think of a better name please let me know!), it's on my list of things to do soon.
Pember also needs a new sprite, possibly more than Treed does! I'll put it on my to-do list.
I like that name better, I thought that's what I had gone with, lol. I don't understand why everyone thinks he's too small. HE IS A BABY POKEMON. He's already bigger than all the other baby pokemon sprites(though Pichu may be taller cause of his big ears), and if I make him bigger he'll be almost the same size as Tangela, and I do not want him to be that big. Thanks, I thought it was a good idea too
Thanks, I haven't made a new pallette in awhile, maybe I'll make a special one...?
I'm not sure what I was trying to say, but the ears look like they don't sit well on the head.
Ok see that, to me, is mor specific and easier to understand. While I still don't really see what you mean, I think it's caus ethe ears are so much bigger than the head, and it's not as smooth of a tansition as on Delcatty's head.
Try one of Treed sitting down, and Pember standing up and hunching. That may work.
Ok maybe I will try Treed sitting down However the idea for Pember won't work. He's not supposed to be able to stand up on his back legs, his evos will be able to though.
I understand, but It looks like, because of the size of his body, that he's smaller than a Cleffa sprite. And I'm not sure how he compares to Tyrogue. But it's a great sprite otherwise.
Oh I forgot about Tyrouge he might be taller....I think the actual body of Tansprout is bigger than Cleffa's sprite XD I'm guessing maybe it's cause the vines make the body look smaller, but without making it's body bigger, I don't know how to fix that.
You could make Crystal pokemon paletees, much like the Crystal Onix from the anime. Or even Shadow pokemon palettes. I have my own for that, but I've seen other people use different colours, so who knows, you could do the same.
Maybe....not sure how to shade a pokemon in the crystal style though...
