When you complete the Kanto dex, all you get is a crummy, non-existant certificate. Who else thinks this is crap.

Well, what do you expect to get from completing the pokedex? They're not stupid (or nice ) enough to give you a super rare pokemon such as Mew or a really cool item or something.

Nintendo or Game Freak or whatever just wanted to screw you into completing the pokedex, thinking that you would get some kind of reward, but when you manage to complete it, they rip you off by giving you a stupid certificate that you can't even carry along with you. Of course it's CRAP!

I do agree with you, but this thread really is pointless.

In case anybody didn't care to notice you get a star on your trainer card. I'd consider the game beaten when you've gotten the gold trainer card (4 stars). Also, maybe not everybody feels the same way about things, but I myself do it for personal achievement on top of that. It does kind of feel good to look at your pokédex and see the numerous pokémon owned without any holes inbetween (well, except for that stupid Mew and others).

By the way, I think Nintendo finally realized their mistake in Emerald, because we get a Johto starter for completing the Hoenn dex. They should've honestly given us the Old Sea Map or Aurora Ticket for completing the rest of the national dex IMO.

Yeah, it sucks very much. But why would they give a Pokemon extremely rare to you, if you would need to have it to complete the dex?
Anyways, the only thing that motivated me to complete the Hoenn Dex in my Emerald, is so I could get a cyndaquil from Professor Birch.

That's just it. We need motivation. We aren't all obsessed collectors. I, myself, am a pure battler looking for the perfect team. If there was, say, a Raikou running loose for completing the Dex, I'd give it a shot.
