Online Damage Calculator

MetalKid

Cascade Trainer
Alright, I just added the damage calculator from my program online, just like my IV Calculator. I had to make a few modifications in order to moderate the bandwidth usage, so the offline version is more user friendly. However, at least now everyone has a chance to try the calculator out! :)

The link is:

Like always, let me know if you find any bugs with it!

What do you want to know? Choose your the Attacking and Defending Pokemon and their levels. Then leave the Att/Def stage at 0, unless moves like Calm Mind or bulk up, etc were used. If something rises, increase the number by 1. If it sharply rises, increase it by 2. Then choose your hold items. Next, choose 1 of 3 personalities that will impact the damage done. If you say positive for the attacker, it will increase the damage by roughly 10% (like Modest or Adament personalities). For the defender, this will increase the defense. Also, choose which ability each Pokemon has. Then choose what move you are attacking with, or leave it as "Override" and choose the type and AP manually. Finally, you can change the IVs/EVs of the stats that matter for each Pokemon at the bottom.

This is a wonderful program, but it's not without a few flaws.
1. You misspelled "Unspecified" in the ability dropdown menu. Not too big of a deal, but I just thought you'd like to know.
2. You should allow the user to input the actual stat instead of the IV/EV/Lvl/Nature. I think that would be much simpler, and much more user friendly.
3. I noticed you went all the way and included tiny things like the double damage stomp against minimized foes. You forgot to include facade doubling in power when the user is burned, paralyzed, or poisoned.

Overall, though, I think it's the best, most precise damage calculator out there. Good job on it.

1. Ah, I'll fix that spelling. :)

2. The main reason I went with IVs instead of stats is that when people calculate damage, they are mainly doing so for Pokemon they are trying to make. In that case, they wouldn't know how many stat points a particular Pokemon is going to have at a given leven (namely 100) unless they do extra calculations first. Plus, if you want to take the "average", I would recommend doing an IV of 15 for everything. Also, you don't necessarily know the stats of your opponent Pokemon, so you'd have to guess some more, anyway.

2. Oh well, I just made it so you can choose which way you want to enter the data: IV/EV or Stat. :)

3. I tried setting up all those special affects. Thanks for the heads up on Facade. :)
