I dunno lol
Just like the other two threads I made in the different generation sections, what are your opinions on the first generation? Pokemon, character design, town design, Kanto region, etc...

I'll let you people post before I let my opinions be known....

These are the ones that started it all off so yeah, I like 'em. Plus most of my favourite pokemon are from this generation.

It was what started it all. But you have to admit. Most of the R/G sprites where ugly.

^ I'm so glad that got changed in Blue.

I'll repeat in what I said in Favourite Thing From The First Generation.

I voted Other to say this, but I don't like it much now, but back then, these Games were the ones that got me where I am today. And it made me buy all the others.

I enjoyed, it had the soul of a good game. The only thing I didn't like was how the Safari Zone worked. No battles, just throw rocks at the Pokemon or feed it then the throw the ball. ;025;

It was the most fun, by far. I didn't know anything back then, and everyone in school helped everyone else along (well, not really, but still you weren't alone). You could look over people's shoulders and watch them and they wouldn't care. Everyone played it at the end of the day, and it was just so peaceful (kinda).

I'll also favor the Gyms and Pokemon over all else, though. They just had a certain something to 'em.

Mew's didn't change in Blue for some reason. And I think the Koffing in R/G looks better than the one we got in our Red & Blue (with the updated Japanese Blue graphics.)

Great games, but in general not a great generation compared to the others. The games were glitchy and unbalanced. Psychic ruled, Pokemon couldn't attack when the woke up, Wrap stopped the Pokemon from attacking afterwards, etc. Though this was fun sometimes, it was pretty annoying to get beaten by a fast Pokemon fire spinning you to death (damn you Rapidash =P).

Kanto is a classic, but the Pokemon and region were a little too simple.

My precious!
they're great, you can't play them on your ds or something, so I don't play them anymore :(

Lost in history...
I liked it. Why? Well, because of nostalgic memories, glitches and the simplicity, practically a 'pick up and play', kinda game, to me. And back then, there weren't so many! :p

I loved the 1st generation games. I know they can't compare with all the better graphics now, but the basic idea around it was pretty fun.

Where is 'loved it' on the poll? x3

That's exactly what I did, I loved it, I occupied so much of my time and effort into completing the games alongside my friend, working as a team.

I remember one incident in which we both needed a Tauros and we sat in a restaraunt for like two hours until we got one, and then ate to our success..

I liked the first generation, after all, it was the generation that got pokemon started and got me interested in the franchise. The first generation games are classics in the series, and playing them sure does bring back a lot of memories. :)

Nothing of interest.
I love it. Everything about it I love. It started my liking of Pokemon. Not to mention I got more interested in the game when rumors about it started up. I also love the glitches in the game. But I absolutely LOVE the sprites, and I always will. *Points to Sig...*

It is the best of the generations, far and away.
