Did anyone actually pick one of the non-starter pokemon for your own character or your partners?? (besides pikachu and eevee) - cuz i know that these two are somewhat common partners......

Like Skitty, Psyduck, Machop, Cubone, or Meowth?

I have read about people being Machop and Cubone though.

Just curious.

I got Pikachu on my first try and I sticked with it, because it must resemble my personality.

I LOVE those who have an "odd" starter, as you call it, because they're different. I've only come across a Psyduck though.

Actually, I wanted to be a Skitty because two of my RP characters have them. Yay for alterior motives!

And for my Blue, I'm an Espeon. Took me a freaking hour to finally get Eevee. Kept getting Pikachu, Bulbasaur, and Psyduck...

I play as Meowth. Pickup is suprisingly useful, especially when speeding through floors, not to mention he learns dark and normal attacks, so his only true weakness is fighting, since I can harm ghost and rock types. I'm partnered with a Mudkip, who is going to learn surf and dive so I don't have to divide my starter team.

I'm also growing fond of magnemite. Sinister woods later today!

It amazes me how in one form a starter can look so cute and in another, it's so fiercesome. Quite a paradox.....

I'ld have liked to be a cubone, but I got squirtle which is no problem.

Pikachu all the way! Skarmory, Moltres, Articuno, Kyogre, Suicune, Ho-oh and Lugia all sustain weakness to the little yellow mouse. And it's equal against practically all the other bosses par from Raikou and Groudon. And if you don't get it at the start, their recruit rate is REALLY low.
