Where's my fanfare?
May fools!
Seriously though. Its kind of sad when those avatar threads are viewed more than other, actually important announcements. Just a few things to cover here.
1. Read the regular announcements.
2. Posting "new" topics.
3. Mini-modding.
4. English.
Hmm... I think I rambled a bit. Oh well, I'm tired, had a bad day, and want to sleep.
So sue me. </minirant>

1. Read the regular announcements.
Most of those who will read this, already do this, and good on you. The rest of you who don't read announcements except for avatar announcements, you need to check this forum on a daily basis, or often. These are important and forum-related reminders. Some of the announcements are redundant, but its good to keep up in case there's something you didn't know. With that said, you really should check these two threads: Link 1 Link 2
2. Posting "new" topics.
Be sure to double, triple, and even quadruple check to make sure that a topic you're posting hasn't already been posted. There have been quite a few topics on the 65535 PMs issue, user-rank banners, and the recent Pokemon Special popping up when there are already topics/discussions relating to them.
Also, while we're on the subject of new topics. Its always a good idea to spell check your topic title via a word processor or some online spell-checker. Otherwise, there's a handy-dandy dictionary or dictionary.com you can use.
Even more stuff on new topics. Make sure your topic title is related to the topic. A lot of threads have had titles such as "Question" "Umm..." "would you..." "wtf" etc. Those are very poor titles. That's like naming the Harry Potter series "Boy" or naming Pokemon "Game".
Oh, and one more thing. Misleading thread titles. I'm sure that this thread disappointed or annoyed quite a few of you. Now you know what its like to have to deal with misleading thread titles. Don't do it.

3. Mini-modding.
See announcement with "Mini-modding" in the title.
4. English.
Noticed a few threads where people are really getting on people's cases for use of poor grammar and punctuation. Sometimes that can't be helped, and people aren't that keen on the English language. We shouldn't get on their cases for not knowing something they weren't taught well. I mean, how would you feel if you were told-off or taunted for not knowing Italian, French, Spanish, or whatever language by a large group of people. Regardless of your reaction, you wouldn't like it, and would either complain, defend yourself, retaliate, or just leave.
You're not required to have perfect punctuation, grammar, and spelling. I'm sure I've made many mistakes in many of my posts. However, you should try to do your best, and not intentionally type odd.
The most common replies to this would be either "I type too fast" or "I want to get to other topics fast".
To the fast typers; slow down. If you're typing so fast that you don't notice your mistakes, and/or make a lot of mistakes, you're not really doing a good job at typing. "I like to be a Pokemon trainer because its fun" saves you a lot of trouble and saves a lot of others the headache of trying to figure out what you said with "I lyk 2 b a pkmn trainr bcuz its fun".
As for those who want to get to other topics quickly, stop. Your posts are most likely going to be some form of SPAM. On top of those posts being SPAM, you're going to annoy a lot of other users trying to figure out what your post was, only to find it was SPAM.
For those who just don't know the English language that well, and get picked on, just inform a mod, and they should be able to ease the situation. There are some places in this forum where proper English is a must, or at least needed to have a good/productive experience, such as the RPG forum and Debates. Sad to say, if you can't speak/write English well, its best to avoid those areas.
To those who dislike how some members speak with slang, shortened words, or bad grammar. Just cool it, and inform a member of the staff if you feel its out-of-hand. Most of the time it can't be helped, and it takes time to get used to typing properly if you're used to typing short. A lot of the time its not the user's fault anyway that they type like that due to English being secondary to them.
