Crossing the Snow Mountains! Mamoswine and Abomasnow!!

Heading towards Anistar City, Ash & co. come across a snowy mountain. Wanting to take a shortcut, they rent two Mamoswine so that they can cross the mountain range, but on their journey they discover an Abomasnow who is looking after an ill Snover. Ash & co. decide to help out and hunt for herbs for the Snover, but Team Rocket have their eyes on the ill Snover. Will Ash & co. help heal the Snover before Team Rocket get their plan into action?

This episode turned out way better than I expected.

There were many moments of teamwork from the gang that was very sweet. They had to work together in order to climb the steep mountain slopes, where Clemont and Bonnie and their Mamoswine were assisted up the slope by Ash, Serena, and their Mamoswine. In addition, they worked together to acquire the necessary ingredients to create a healing concoction for the sick Snover to drink. And finally, the as-expected TR battle featured some nice tag-team moments, which made the standard & routine TR battle a bit more interesting.

Some other nice moments:

- When the gang encountered a huge boulder blocking their way and was trying to figure out ways to get around it, the Mamoswines taking things into their own hands feet, ramming it, and breaking it into pieces - along with the treacherous conditions that was showcased, writers did a nice job making a direct reference to the Mamoswine clearing out the boulders in Route 17 in the games.

- The Ash/Serena interactions were nice, but the Clemont/Bonnie interactions were incredibly sweet - it is not often we get to see deep brother-sister moments from them nowadays.

- Some of the gang's Pokemon helped to make Snover comfortable while their Trainers searched for the plants.

- Noibat played a small, yet key role - using its supersonic waves and its hearing abilities to detect which cave pathways were open and which cave pathways were dead ends. Good exposure for our little, cute, friendly, and fan-favorite neighborhood bat.

8/10 - well worth watching.

Everyone were doing something in this episode... Ash and Serena's interactions were nice, the sibling were just soooo cute for me! Yay for Noibat got some screen time

Chespin being stupid as he always be... His snowball was like Clemont's invention that will always blow up, and Braixen of course have the same reaction with Serena when Clemont invented something...


So yeah, 7.5/10 for me since this is a filler episode.

Yes, she ordered "Tane Bakudan" aka Seed Bomb. Guessing it was substituted for Leech Seed.

Bonny throwing that snowball at Inkay was pretty fantastic. I looked this episode as a whole, and Clemonts invention actually didn't blow up this time.

I wonder if they are going to explore Serena's fear of crossing bridges or if it's just a character's trait.

The episode was nice to watch even though it was filler.

A bland filler as I expected, though that frigid mountain looked really neat, almost realistic. The animation was good as usual and I'm glad that Ash and co.'s Pokemon helped with the various shenanigans.

Now that Pumpkaboo has evolved it's really nice to see her interact more with Jessie. It's almost like the pre-BW days again.

Other than that not really much to say. Not necessarily boring, I liked the amount of teamwork they put in.

A pretty enjoyable filler. I'm glad everyone played a part and the cast's interactions were nice. It's nice to see some more exposure for Noibat, I didn't think Ash was actually gonna use it. Also, Serena using her experience with Rhyhorn Racing was good. All of their snow clothes looked really good and the animation was on par as usual.

Oh my goodness! Serena's wearing pants! Anyway this was a cute filler episode. Serena got to show why she is a Rider of Rhyhorn when she took over for Mamoswine. You could hear it in her determined voice. The focus on her face. She was in the zone as she and Mamoswine climbed that mountain. The only thing that broke her concentration was the bridge because she remembered how Shauna wronged her on her previous bridge. Though her squeal was cute. Look out Dawn, you have a Mamoswine rival who also rides a Mamoswine. The clash is coming.

Clemont and Bonnie also won me over with their dynamic in this episode. It was must see. And I adore Bonnie in her Delibird outfit. Bonnie must dress up more like Pokemon. It's fun. I also enjoyed the antics of Chespin and Braixen. The diva fox has really started to show off even more personality. This is good. Noibat and Bunnelby got to come out and play...or be used by their trainers. I loved how Abomasnow was protective over protecting the ill Snover, but somehow Ash and friends gain it to trust them in less then a minute. But that's Pokemon for ya. Overall a fun episode. Not really important but I enjoyed it. Serena in pants. I just assumed her mini skirt would be magical and keep her warm. I guess those days are no more.

That's what's odd she is wearing pants! At the end I like how they said that they all had their way of helping out in the group and Clemont says something like they are the best group.

Bulbapedia seems to imply it replaces Frustration, actually, for whatever that's worth. I mean, obviously I know to not take that site at face value, but you gotta admit, considering how close Jessie and Gourgeist have been since the evolution, Frustration would make the most sense for them to get rid of. Hell, maybe Gourgeist will even learn Return in the future, we might finally get to see that move in action.

It was decent. I really don't have anything to say outside of liking Serena run Mamoswine better than Ash, and seeing Braixen and Noibat around.
