You forgot Vigoroth and Slaking. Vigoroth is classified as a monkey by the Pokedex, wheras Slaking is a gorilla.
Canines are, without a doubt, the most overused creatures in the entire Pokemon kingdom. There are too many dogs for me to name off the top of my head, even when exclouding the contraversial ones like Raikou, Suicune, Entei, and the Eeveelutions.

I think there are far too many cocoons.
Sure, there aren't many compared to the other animals mentioned, but I think there are too many for such a specific thing.

The cocoons are interesting, but I think they could think of something more creative, especially seeing as the first four cocoons are pretty much identical!

Though this is beginning to happen now - Dragons are kinda different now.

i think steel pokemon should be more varied to be honest, most of them are part rock/ground with the others being part flying (skarmory), psychic(which is good) and electirc (magneton...shame the defences are CR*P!)
i think there should be a steel ice or steel grass personally...i mean, ice could be as hard as steel...couldn't it?

In the Pokemon world, I think dragons do have their own large group like dogs and cats, hence their own type (This is common in many fantasy games). However, I do agree that there have been too many flying dragons. I like the variety we've got with some of the new dragons though.

Well, I think we can safely say Diaruga, Parukia and that ground/dragon trio can't fly.

I've always though of Slakoth, Vigoroth and Slaking as sloths, not monkeys.
