Paint- made Butterfree

Hi! It's me again! I made a Butterfree on Paint, and I wanted to show it here! Well, it isn't very good, it's kinda strange o_O. Here it is:

People, stop saying Paint is bad. Paint is good, you just need to know how to use it!
For the Butterfree, fix the shape of it. The zoom tool can work wonders for fine-tuning your outlines. The shading also doesn't look right, most of the body looks flat.
It's an ok start, but you need to put a lot more effort into it.

Morons -_-, Paint is just fine. Great for spriting. Anyways, okay for a first, if not a first or second... Just follow Chaos Emerald's advice.

The lineart is a bit jagged and the wings are quite small compared to the body, but it's still an okay picture, despite the flaws. Keep practicing. :>

^Yes it is. The wings and coloring is a lot better, but I'd think that her head would be bigger and her eyes much farther apart. Her eyes usually are almost on opposite sides on her head. ^_^ Great job!

Nooo! I'm too young!
Thats isn't half-bad, more potatoshaped than the real butterfree IMO tho.

Here's the updated version of 'Painterfree':

Very nice, the shading is quite excellent. I suggest you look at a Sugimori picture to get a general idea of Butterfree.

It's still not wonderful. The wings are misshapen, and the whole thing is in a very generic pose. You want to make the shading on the body much more round so that it looks almost bean-shaped, because right now it looks pretty flat. Also, don't use so much dithering. I personally don't use it at all, but if that's your thing, just do a little bit around the edges to help make it look natural. You should also make the legs shaded more round with a lot less dithering, if any. If you're going to do outline shading, refer to the Revamping tutorial in the stickied Fan Sprites tutorial topic to learn how to do it correctly.

I can see that you did put in a lot more effort this time. Just fix up the parts that need fixing and you'll be on your way.
