Paper Mario is one of my personal favorite games.
Thousand Year Door was good, and had Rawk Hawk, which is a plus.
Super Paper Mario looks decent so far.

I loved The Thousand Year Door. It is one of the few games I have that almost completely took over my free time before I completed it.
I'm looking forward to playing the original sometime. I'm not too sure about Super Paper Mario though; maybe I need more information.

I really love the series. It sort of encompasses the whole "nintendo is about great games, not super-realistic graphics" thing. The games are really creative, and I am sooooo excited about Super Paper Mario.
But...I don't think Vivian was a guy in "the original". That would certainly mess with the whole shadow sisters thing.

But yeah, TTYD is THE best game imo. Seriously, you just can't possibly love it more than I can...it's just physically, mentally, emotionally, and astronomically impossible. Really, in my opinion, that game was the best there was and ever will be, the best game ever made.
And also, go to RPGClassics.com, look for the shrine of TTYD and look all the way at the bottom in miscellaeneous (sp?) and read what they say about the sprites. That one about a possible beta Bobbery is cool, and it's nice to see all the original PM cast in new and improved graphics. Also what's up with that strange guy?

In the Japanese original, part of Goombella's description said "That's Vivian, the youngest sister...er, brother."

I remember when those pieces were first extracted. (Piecing them together raw is such a pain) I believe there was also some candy character with like a gazillion different palettes. In addition, there was also a Dark Atomic Boo.
The original Paper Mario has even more unused sprites, including icy versions of many basic enemies and a Dark Paratroopa. In addition, Super Mario RPG has many unused enemies that look like they could have come from a possible ice world.

The graphics were amazing. I loved how the 2D complied with the 3D surroundings. Beautiful.
Vivian appears to be male in the Japanese version and the "Three Shadow Sirens" are called the "Three Shadow Group".But...I don't think Vivian was a guy in "the original". That would certainly mess with the whole shadow sisters thing.
Also, I believe her/his party description (in the Japanese version of the game) says: "Part of the Shadow Group, Vivian looks like a girl but is actually a boy".
