Last night I was thinking... a lot of people like to make their games more personal by writing stories of their Pokemon's past, giving them developed personalities (sometimes having nothing to do with the nature the game gives them), and even thinking of how their Pokemon would actually fight if they were real.
No. I don't mean something as simple as "Squirtle would fight with water" ...What I'm referring to is.. well... would they fight viciously? Fairly? Would your Pokemon have a tendancy to go easy on weaker opponents?
How would YOUR Pokemon fight if they were real?
Mine? Well...
Spike, my Jolteon (and also my main fighter at the moment) would be trained to fight without any need for commands. Just a simple "You know what to do" at the start of the battle, and that would be it. She would use the full-potential of her speed to strike multiple times before the opponent can get any hits in. She would also know how to "decieve" opponents, by acting as though she's about to use one attack, then using a different one. (Ex: Bristling her fur like she's about to use pin missle, then using Thunderbolt instead) In short: Spike fights unfairly, but tends to go easier on rookies.
Being a Charmeleon, Helio is hot-tempered by nature. His fighting style is similar to Spike's, but he isn't skilled at decieving opponents, not to mention he's somewhat slower. He doesn't go easy on rookies, but sometimes he'd rather not battle them because they're just too easy to beat.
Snap the Flygon is very gentil compaired to his team-mates, even though he's the strongest. He doesn't agree with Helio's ruthlessness, which causes arguments between the two of them sometimes, and makes teaming up with Helio in double-battles a real challenge. He only fights when he needs to, doesn't need commands but will obey them without question, and very rarely uses his full power.
When given the chance, Dirge the Onix likes to burrow underground, then strike his opponent from an unknown angle. He's not the most intelligent of my Pokemon though, so he needs to be told which moves to use, if it's going to be anything other than Dig.
