Phony joker arrested at Batman screening

Police in Michigan have arrested a 20-year-old man who they say tried to steal posters and other movie memorabilia related to the new Batman movie from a cinema lobby while dressed up as The Joker.

Spencer Taylor stunned cinema staff when he reportedly attempted to rip-down posters outside a screening of The Dark Knight at the Three Rivers 6 theatre.

Detective Mike Mohney told Michigan website Freep.com that officers were called to the cinema and found staff restraining a man dressed in a purple suit, a green wig and face-paint resembling the late Heath Ledger’s portrayal of the caped crusader’s nemesis.

Taylor was made to pose for police mugshots both in and out off costume.

He was charged with larceny and malicious destruction of property and is scheduled to appear at St. Joseph County District Court on August 5.

Oh well, he won't be able to see any movie for a long time since he's probably banned from that movie theater now. Stupid.
