Picker Uppers

I'm currently training my lvl. 68 linoone to pick up earthquake in Emerald. But... is it worth all the effort? Even IF I get to lvl. 91-100, there still a very low chance I'll get the earthquake. Do you think pick up training is worth it?

BTW, if you have a lvl 91 linoone and a lvl. 100 linoone, will the lvl. 100 one have a bigger chance on getting earthquake? plxkthx.

ALSO: Which picker upper is easiest to raise? And where do you train them?

It is worth it, really. It may take a while though. That's why it's good to have 6 lv.100 ones. And no, from lv.91-100, they all have the same chances or picking up everything. Remeber, not from level 90, 91-100.

I usually take 2 linoones & 2 teddiursas which are all above level 91 and my false-swipe altaria (in case of shinies) when EV training so I can increase my chances of getting TM26, which has benefited many of my salamences, metagross, slaking and many others that benefit from it. I currently have in emerald 13 of the TM26 in stock thanks to my picker uppers.

No, EV-training has nothing to do with it, they just meant they take those Pokemon with them WHILE they're EV-training so they'll pick stuff up in-between battles...which is what I do, too. XD

That may help if you are not fimiliar with EV's.

I do not. Instead I trust my chances with a bunch of Pokeballs from my stock on money (with then turn into a great stock of Great Balls ).

Anyways it seems reasonable to raise a picker-upper.

Picker-uppers are very handy when it comes up to getting TMs, I've got 7 Tm 44s and 8 TM 26.

I think the best way to train them is to have a whole team of them except one guy who you are EV training... give the guy you are EV training an exp share and put him in the last spot...

EV train and have the weakest linoone in the first slot... switch them around... and use the rare candies they pick up to raise them levels...

Of course in Ruby/Sapphire you can do the mudslide trick or ocean glitch to raise up the linoone or other pickup pokemon which is how I actually have about 15 at above level 90, and I intend to trade some of them when I go to Boston next weekend. Lol some of these were originally caught when they were at level 2.

IMO the mudslide trick is overrated...

it is much faster to just train them instead...

You may also want to treat one of your other Pokemon as the EV helper in some cases.

EV helper: Used in some battles to help the Pokemon get EV's without battling. Use similiary to leveling up Pokemon like Abra and Magikarp until they can evolve (or get an attacking move).

Don't forget though.... ursaring's ability is guts and persian's is Limber so you can't evolve tediursa or meowth.

Linoone is easiest to raise and also makes a great HM slave and can surf and also do covet. I also prefer teddiursa as an HM slave as well since it can also learn dig. I especially like it when the linoone that gets the TM26 is the one that was originally a level 2 zigzagoon met on route 101.
