Pika Pika Sparkling Love! Poipole Spins Round and Round!! (1010)

Nice to see Poipole not be automatically sent back to where it came from, and to see for once they actually have to find its wormwhole but that's the nicest thing I have to say about this episode

Now for the negative and I'm going to try and say it in a way that isn't a rant, or sounds like I am bashing. just stating my opinion everyone is entitled to their own opinion and your welcome to try and create a counter to my opinion but don't expect to change my mind I am kind of stubborn, but I will respect your thoughts and opinions as long as you respect mine.

I know Poipole is most likely, if not definitely, going to be released at some point but for me that just makes its presence unbearable because its too obvious of a plot point, and when it has to be released I am not going to shed any tears because it would be too forced for me to get sad about, it will be like with Goodra and Greninja where I felt nothing but annoyance at them being released.

I faintly remember hearing Poipole's JP voice in a Twitter clip once, and what a shock, it was terrible. Another one to add to the list of JP voices that blitzkrieg the ears. His dub voice is so much more adorable than it has any right to be. He sounds like an alien baby, which is basically what he is.

Having a fleeting knowledge of SNL causes me to find TR's "purple conehead" line funny. And so too was the moment Ash learned the struggle of real-world Pokemon players trying to catch Legendaries in the days of 3/255 catch rates.

Oh damn it all to Hell, I thought I was free from top-tier Mimaisms for a while. What was up with that snippet of the Title Screen theme appearing for no reason at all?? Why did Mr. Gopal let that one in??? At least the Wild Battle theme made sense. Other than that, the music was nothing spectacular.

This was a cute one, a good one to mark the dub's return to the usual Saturday morning schedule.

That same guy with the Gastly and that same girl with the Growlithe walked in front of Team Rocket's malasada truck twice.

The scene where Ash kept throwing all the Beast Balls was hilarious.

You would think he would give up before running out of all of them lol

Also it was funny when he kept showing Poipole that Rowlet kept going in and out of the Poké Ball.

He kept moving Rowlet in and out of the Poké Ball so fast

It was also funny that he chose Rowlet to show that since Rowlet itself is actually barely in the Poké Ball. Rowlet is usually in the backpack. It would have made more sense to demonstrate with a Pokémon who actually does go in the Poké Ball a lot, like Torracat or Lycanroc.

At the end, when Professor Kukui and Professor Burnet were talking about what a big family they have now, it made me realize they're really going to miss Ash and all his Pokémon when he leaves Alola to go to the next region. Then they'll have to make babies!

In terms of the major discussion of this thread regarding Poipole's potential release, why are y'all discussing something that's totally irrelevant? Since Gen IV, Pokémon haven't come back regardless of whether they've been released or not, so not like it matters? Pignite is just as likely to come back as Greninja lol? aka not at all??

then believe GF is gonna just continue this dimension stuff for the rest of time in their games allowing it to return when Ash wants to use it.

GF doesn't impact the anime, and anyway, why does it matter since old Pokémon never come back anymore?

I also appreciate that they took the time to squeeze in a dialogue of Meowth realizing Litten has evolved and showing pride over it. It baffles me how they can be attentive to details like this one, but they don't seem to care about continuity from other series.

Why is it baffling? One of these things is two events in the same series, that just happened a few episodes apart. The other thing is things that happen multiple years and hundreds of episodes apart. Why isn't it likely that the latter would be less likely to happen?

I suppose it helped demonstrate no hard feelings after their misunderstanding earlier.

Good episode, and I laughed at few of the scenes. Poipole seems to have a crush on Pikachu, loving his electricity. Ash throwing Beast Balls like a maniac. Obviously for a moment that Ash didn't realize that Poipole was just playing around twirling, dodging every single ball.

I wonder how big of a family Professor Burnet wants? She and Kukui will need to know that Ash will have to move on eventually.

Meowth, this isn't your episode to feel proud of Litten evolving. You'll get your chance outside of it. By the way, why did they scrap the usual cat noises for a cheesy "Tooooooorracat!" cry?

It's kind of weird you have to teach a wild Pokemon how to get caught.

Ash wasn't satisfied robbing Lillie from her Cosmog, so now he's robbing the URS from their Poipole while also terminating their existence.

Is there any worry for Kukui's home being intoxicated by deadly alien poison? I know it looks like paint but, still. Giddy Poison-type and all.

Wonder how they managed to clean it all too. But they would definitely have to clean a lot.

I liked that scene since it was a bit ironic given how effective Beast Balls normally work on Ultra Beasts, yet here they were wasted.

Because there's no feasible way to get something resembling cat noises out of the name "Torracat". The Pokémon whose voices sound like just animal noises in Japanese are technically still saying their names, it's just that since their names include the typical sounds those animals make, it's a lot more subtle. If anything, having him make cat noises in the dub would raise a lot more questions.

I heard its cry in the dub. I support cat noises more than ever now. Ha ha.

Should Pikachu be worried? It didnt look like it was getting poisoned but I cant really tell.

I was going to say how disappointed I was with an easy capture but then Ash missed a whole box worth of Beast balls so I believe that will qualify as a proper weakening and new team addition.

An alright episode. I liked seeing Poipole feel remorse after poisoning Rowlet and Lillie helping the latter recover. Ash wasting all the Beast Balls was funny.
