I have but one question... Right now in the battle frontier pikachu is a powerhouse. But whenever Ash enters a new region it's as weaks a magikarp!!! Thing is if it stays strong Ash will breeze through the region.

What do you think.(Sorry if there is a similiar thread.)

It doesn't "become weak," it's just that he finds tougher opponents that go about battling a completely different way than he expects. That and newer Pokemon and what not.

It doesnt get weaker. It battles tougher foes

Really?
I can support this. I mean, Ash's Pikachu is clearly a God among every other Pikachu but I've noticed that everytime he enters a new region, Pikachu seems to go back to the starting phase. He still has the attacks and all that but it seems like he's holding back.

I want a webcomic...
Its a show. They do this for dramatic effect. If Pikachu was the sum of its experience, itd be able to take down Mewtwo with a spark from its cheek, and would send Ash and anyone else around it into cardiac arrest. That's not good story telling, so they make Pikachu weaker so that they can still tell more stories. Its like what happened to Superman in the silver age, he could move planets. That's not good to tell stories, since there are only so many stories that they can tell with that, so they depowered him so he could fight new, weaker, threats. Pikachu needs to lose power, or there'd be people complaining about how Ash doesn't even need other pokemon.

I think it can be attributed mostly to there being new types and tatics that Ash isn't familiar with. After all, in the indigo league, a BELLSPROUT kicked serious butt and no one expected it. When you have entirely new creatures with new styles of movement and attacks, of course it would take some adjusting to.

That said, lets not forget that in Advanced Pikachu- BEAT A ROCK GYM. It took on Nosepass and beat it by itself... and also

-hosed an ELECTRIC Gym. He took out three other ELECTRIC pokemon with three attacks! Trained gym leader electric pokemon. Granted Pikachu was supercharged at the time, but he nearly got the leader to retire he hosed him so bad!

And those were both early gyms in the Advanced saga. Pikachu keeps kicking butt, Ash is just always off his game a little when dealing with new stuff he hasn't seen before. And from a story point, he needs a loss every now and again. If he NEVER lost, it would be boring.

I like pie.
if tailow can withstand multiple thunderbolt attacks from pikachu, how can you call that weak? it defeated some pretty tough opponents. pikachu couldn't hold of the swarm of tailow
until brock came and forretress used explosion

Taillow strong? Dude, have you seen latest episodes? Taillow was the weakest pokemon from Ash's team. It didn't win any serious battle.

yeah,it wouldn't be fun if pikachu won every battle and its the only pokemon ash has in his arsenal.like stated above.ash takes on tougher opponents in each generation with new pokemon too.

That Taillow wasn't tough. It was a trully weak pokemon.
Did you even watch the whole episode? It was stated that Subame had the stamina to keep on going, even after getting about 100, 000 volts from Thunderbolt.

Nobody tell her about Cotoise's huge losing streak throughout Advanced Generation!

Pikachu can beat Milotic for petes sake, but can't even KO a Taillow? :[

Because, if Pikachu was always super-strong, then Ash would just breeze through the region. They have to 'power down' Pikachu, because the show would get boring if it is just Ash sending Pikachu and winning with one hit.
