In all of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games, you're required to pick a partner. My question is: out of all PMD Partner choices, which one was your favorite?

Mine was Mudkip in Explorers of Sky. He had a super important role in the story, and he wasn't just there because he was your best friend and wanted to help you out.

I've only played the DS era Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games, but I'll always have fond memories of my partner Hikozaru (Chimchar) in Explorers of Time. It was such a reliable teammate.

My favorite is Turtwig in Explorers of Darkness, even if he occasionally screwed me up by using wrong move or targeting wrong enemy.

I am quite fond of Mudkip in Red Rescue Team and Charmander in Super Mystery Dungeon as well.

Something similar happened to me in Explorers of Sky. My partner in that game would use attacks such as Earthquake which would affect every Pokemon in the area, and then I'd end up taking damage too. Luckily, I fixed that by choosing to delete the move.

Yeah, that happened to me too, and I ended up deleting it as well. It's strange how a move that is so useful in main games can be so terrible in Mystery Dungeon.

I also remember my Mudkip partner in RRT trying to use Dive constantly on non-Water tiles.

I'm pretty sure for me, for Blue Rescue Team, it was the sad, sad tale of Bulbasaur the Human and Pikachu the Faithful. Sure, fire types were a huge threat because Pikachu didn't have a coverage move for them (or for ice types...or bug types...or...), but he (I interpreted my partner as a he) seemed to really like being with me. Plus, electric moves are always welcomed in the beginning of any Pokemon game. My latest outing, Super Mystery Dungeon, involved the tale of the mighty Totodile and the lovestruck Fennekin. Throughout the game, I felt like it was just canon that your partner was Fennekin, she (he?) seemed to fit the build so easily. Man, they really need to make another one of these games.

I've only played Darkness, but I just really grew to like Tomoya the Bulbasaur for my partner, he got me out of some tight spots just for being a good little AI (I suppose, I had more frustrating moments with the NPC escorts than with him). Maybe just imagining him with the voice of Tara Sands as Darkrai's creepy nightmare took place was what made the whole thing worth it, but I dunno, there was just something endearing about a Bulbasaur and Mudkip partnership.

In Red Rescue Team my partner was Squirtle and I was a Chikorita, which I didn't like.

For me, I liked Cyndaquil in the Rescue Team games. My Cyndaquil/now Typhlosion partner was probably the best one I've had on any of my Mystery Dungeon games; it helped me out a lot in the major battles during the game (well, usually).
Also, it's special to me since it was my first partner and definitely my most memorable one.

I had Cyndaquil as my partner in Red Rescue Team. I regret not getting Charmander though which seemed like a useful choice from what I've seen.

Shinx in Explorers of Sky. Its Discharge move was a lifesaver, especially when I'd get stuck smack in the middle of a Monster House.

I was a fan of Shinx and Treecko! Since I usually didn't get either one, I just liked being able to pick my favorites to be my partner. Obvs EoS.

So since Kolink (Shinx) and his evolved forms could all learn Discharge, I can see how it would come in handy as a partner for the sake of that long range attack. Though I never used one myself.

In all of my playthroughs I usually chose Charmander, Treecko, Mudkip, and Snivy as my partners.
