I have done like 5 missions and more actually. Do I need Sky Blue Plains for it?

I'm not sure, but I think you do need the Sky Blue Plains.

1. How come when you hit Sehdinja (spelling?) you only do 1 damage? Does it have really high defence or something?

2. Any tips on escorting Gengar through Murky Cave? Those annoying ghost Pokemon attack Gengar and I can't even attack back.

A.1. NO, ITS WONDER GUARDS EFFECT, it doesnt say so, but.........

2. xray specs help, a pierce orb or an all-round-1-tile-range move can help, the wm generator should help with that stuff.

I just got Sky Blue Plains AND I recruited Smeargle from Howling Forest. Is there anything left for me to do to gain acces to Northern Range?

I just checked a MD1 guide and apparently all you need is the HM surf and to have bought southern island friend area. Apparently as soon as you have the requirements, there is a 'cutscene' when you exit your house the next day, and northern range is unlocked. ;123;

Then maybe that's all that is left for you to do.

Well it depends which one of the dungeons you are going too because Purity Forset doesn't allow items to be taken in. Af for Joyous Tower and Wish cave can i sugest using a Pokemon like Alakazam or Mew because they level up quite quickly and learn some descent moves like Telepost to get you out of trouble easily. For items wise, take 10 Joy Seeds with you and use them straight away and it should be a breeze but if you use Mew then use them when you are about level 10 because mew will level up very very quickly. Also take some TM's like Bullet Seeds and other range moves.

For Purity Forest, you should use Alakazam [and DON'T erase Teleport]. I tried it once and was able to reach the 86th floor, but the pokemon there was too many and Alakazam was only at level 10 or 11, so I became irritated and turned my gameboy off. But meh, that doesn't bug me [I started a new game again].
Anyways, be sure to pick up a lot of apples, max elixirs, and oran berries. And though Alakazam's defences are really high, it's attacks are not so good when it comes to the 20th floor if you're still at level 5 or something. So you should train on the 1st 10 floors [if you don't want to experience the same thing that I did].

EDIT: For Joyous Tower and Wish Cave, go with what PurpleMew said.

For Purity Forest, take Alakazam. As long as you find a Warp Scarf, keep Teleport, and find enough Elixirs, it'll be easy. If you spot an item or the stairs, remove the Scarf. As for the Wish Cave, you can take in a Warp Scarf, making it easier. Take lots of items that induce status against Jirachi, as well as Frustration or two to hit the Wish Pokemon.

The tactic doesn't sound great, but I cleared both dungeons faster than you could say, "His tactic sucks, it'll never work..."

Obviously, the need to KO future recruits in the Tower negates that idea.

I did very well with Alakazam. You don't need to worry about leveling him up either, I think stats are like 80HP, 40 Att. & S. Att., and 35 Def. & S.Def at level 1. Teleport is extremely useful for avoiding fights if you want to (and stealing from Kecleon, too). You'll have to have Frustration to make it deep, though, because your normal moves will become very ineffective as you advance (most pokes fall after 2 Frustration hits). As for items, X-ray specs can help you from walking right into trouble, some gravelrocks will give you some set damage to inflict, and reviver seeds, of course. You don't really have to worry about food; in Wish Cave & Joyous Tower, there's tons of huge apples. And make sure to watch out for Electrode. I think they're in all 3 dungeons at about floor 50, and they've got Sonicboom, which will deal 55 damage a hit, and can be shot at you. Parasect, too, are awful; they've got Spore, which will put everyone in a room to sleep. They're in the last 20 levels of Purity Forest, and some others, too, I think.

But really, I think the most important thing is Alakazam. I was able to make it through Purity Forest and Joyous Tower with no items brought in.

You could also try taking on Purity Forest first, to sharpen your skills without loosing your items. I did that and found the other two dungeons much easier.

Well, I'm not sure of a specific thing to do. You might try going to the side dungeon Rock Hole to level yourself up a little more. Also, if you happen to find a Bullet Seed TM, teach it to your Treecko. It's much more useful in dungeon games then the normal games.

I've been wondering for awhile now, can you say farewell to a legendary friend and then recruit it again? I want to give a few of mine better nicknames but I'm afraid that they will be gone forever if I do that. As far as I know you can't just change names and I'm pretty nervous about testing this.

For example, I'd like to rename my Ho-Oh. If I say goodbye to it and then complete Mt. Faraway will it be there or will it be gone forever?

Unfortuatally once released the legendary Pokemon can not be recruited again so my advice is to put up with it or if you are seriously disturbed by the names then start the game again.

Darn. Well they aren't that bad certainly. I'll just be more careful the next time. Thanks for the help.

I am certain that *most* legendaries can be let go and then re-recruited. The only criteria is that they have a set recruitment location (like a certain floor in a certain dungeon, which most legendaries have). I remember doing it with Zapdos. If you are uncertain, simply save the game before letting a legendary go, then go to the place where they origionally where. If it is there then *catch, rename*, if not turn off. But I am certain it works. ;123;
